Does anyone here have an RTX 2070 Super Max-Q gpu? Could they save their bios and send it to me? Also could they provide a GPU-Z screenshot as well. I'm looking for a 90 watt bios to flash into my GS66.

I love how the clowns at Gigabyte have just reuploaded the FB09 BIOS and a few days ago added the FB08 BIOS to the download list. Anyone prepared to find out what has changed in the FB09 v2? I'm not, unless they list changes. Absolute idiots.
On a sidenote, I still can't believe how poor this OLED screen is! -
Probably did a sanity check recompile of FB09 and re-allowed FB08 to be downloaded due to complaints. Im not tempting it lol

I have been tuning my 15x v8 and after undervolting the CPU, clean install and a WD Blue SN550 SSD it's running great. CPU Temp stays below 85c under heavy load and runs at 3.9-4 GHz. Haven't repasted so far.
I need advice:
1. I am trying to install HX426S15IB2K2/32 - two sticks of 16 gb hiperx ram. So far it doesn't even post. I came across others getting this ram to work - any advice? My bios has never been updated, I think it's FB03. My guess is that updating it might allow me to use the memory.
2. I can't update the bios because my battery is dead. Any way to get around the battery check on the flash utility? I've ordered a new battery, but that would take a month ;(
3. I've tried to OC the 1070 with afterburner, but can't get past 1575 MHz on the core - keeps hitting the power limit. Any way to go higher? What is the optimal way to set the voltage curve in afb? I'm getting around 13200 fire strike scores, but I've seen people post results well past 14k
Thanks -
After you’re in Windows, shut it down and add the other stick of memory. Sometimes this works. -
Even with one stick it doesn't boot. I have to have another cl19 stick of crucial ram in the other slot and then ram runs at 2400. -
Hi Monkey, I've been trying to get the same hyperX cl 15 HX426S15IB2/32 ram to work.
No luck so far. I can only get the laptop to post if I mix one stick of this kit with a different slower ram and it then runs at 2400mhz dual channel.
Which bios version were you running? Any other steps?
Thanks , for any advice. -
Thank you very much, -
Can anyone confirm that Gigabtyte has locked any of their laptops out of Undervolting yet?
I have the Aero 15-8750h, Aero-15 9750h and Aorus 7-10750h. All still UV. -
Hi Guys,
I have an Aero 15 Classic XA (RTX 2070 & i7-9750H).
I made an attempt to undervolt my pc using ThrottleStop and I realize that the microcode of my CPU is 0xCA.
After searching on the net, I understood that this microcode locks the undervolting.
My BIOS version is B02 / F003.
I have no experience regarding the installation of BIOS versions or changing the microcode.
Can someone help me understand the process.
Best,
Axel -
I have not updated my BIOS or changed CPU microcode, so I don't have any first-hand advice for you. I am somewhat surprised that your 9th gen Aero has the undervolt lock. When did you purchase your laptop? Did you buy it new or used? Which supplier did you purchase from? From your post I assume that you have never updated your BIOS? -
I bought it new from Newegg. I didn't update my bios yet because I don't know what is the changelog and I can't find it.
Apparently, a recent Windows Update change the microcode of some CPUs to 0xCA. -
On my 9th gen Aero 15 SA with FB09 BIOS I can undervolt the CPU as I want.
-
can anyone confirm if they're removed the 4 GHZ max frequency restriction from the latest FB09 bios currently on gigabyte website? If not, i'd really appreciate if someone can link me to the bios version that is not restricted as i'm looking to revert to it.
boggles the mind that they dont upload a changelog. -
Does anyone have the fb05 bios/ex files for the aero 15xv8 (8750)?
I'm trying to get a set of hyperX
(HX426S15IB2K2/32)
ram to work and margroloc posted here that he got the kit to run with fb05 bios version.
His ram sticks are the exact same model except mine has hynix chips and his had Samsung...
This machine is sooo picky with ram, it seems
I've tried bios fb0A (latest) and FB08 which are available on the gigabyte website.

I am (trying) to upgrade the ram on my 15x v8. I have the original
v-color tn416g26d819-sb 16gb CL19
Stick that came with the laptop. I'm about to put it up on eBay... Or you can send me a message/comment if anyone is interested in buying it. No issues with it. Its pretty much impossible to order anymore... -
Today my Gigabyte Aero 15w v8 died due to unknown hardware failure.
On 6/27/2020 my Gigabtye Aero gave me a blue screen several times; each time the screen last less than a second and no dump file was created.
On 6/28/2020 I reinstalled windows after formatting the ssd thinking that it was driver conflict or something else windows related after getting several more dump-less bluescreens. Then I reinstalled my games and while playing I got another bluescreen same as before; no dump file was created and screen was too brief to really see anything. So I set my phone to record the screen and after reviewing the video frame by frame I was able to see the error code on the bluescreen which was (WHEA Uncorrectable error) after some research I discovered this typically a hardware related error. So I replaced the ram and then the SSD drive and finally the wifi card. Still got the same error which would suggest that the fault lies in the motherboard it's self.
Some background.
This laptop was purchased on 7/11/2018. Has been used exclusively on a Thermaltake Massive TM laptop cooling pad (model number CL-N002-PL12BL-A)for that entire time. Obviously it wasn't enough to stop the hardware failure/degradation. Ironically the battery is fine. I always thought that the battery would go first, the battery in my HP x360 didn't last more than 9 months before swelling up. -
Hello there my fellow aero owners / enthusiasts,
Wanted to share some insights to perhaps help someone, anyways.
Since exactly 14 days ago I’m the proud owner of an Aero 15 OLED XB i7-10875H RTX 2070 super max-q, very happy so far.
I’ve been creeping this forum (along with other sites) through google search to help me aid in upgrading to a suitable new RAM and SSD, couldn’t really find that much on the RAM spectrum so I contacted Kingston and Gigabyte.
After a quick response from Kingston assuring me my preferred RAM the HX429S17IBK2/32 should be compatible I decided to buy it along with the Samsung 500Gb EVO plus. (I also contacted Gigabyte (took around a week), they gave me the usual RAM compatibility list and the Kingston wasn’t on the list)
Arrived today, installed and worked like a charm, zero issues with installation. Cloned the disk using Samsung migration without issue and the RAM gave no issues either (runs at 2933 mhz and dual channel). Just plugged everything in and it worked.
As a side note, I used throttlestop to undervolt by 160 and repasted the “messy” paste job + added some gelid pads (also on the new ssd).
Runs like a charm, haven’t averaged the temps yet, but if anyone wants me to I’d be happy to.
Hope this helps some people facing the same doubts I had.
Cheers -

Have you noticed coil whine or unusual fan noises? From reading various sites and reviews I have seen that there are some complaints on those fronts with older model aeros, but I also saw a post or two suggesting that the coil whine/fan noise issue might be improved in these 10th gen models.
Also, did you think the thermal paste job was inadequate, or just messy? (I've never re-pasted a cpu, so I would prefer to leave it alone if possible.
Thank you in advance! -
Hello! My laptop is Aero 15 Classic (SA model - i7-9750H + GTX 1660Ti). I will share my experience with the latest BIOS version B04 from May 2020. It is incorrect, after installation the processor C-States are completely turned off, which gives such symptoms:
- the processor works at a maximum speed 4GHz, this is max turbo for 6 cores. Turbo can't run faster to 4.1-4.5GHz because without C-States not-used cores are not put to sleep and there is never a situation where 1/2/3/4/5 cores are active, always 6 works,
- processor temperature is 5-10 degrees higher than normal,
- Aero battery runs 3-4 times shorter, because in the iddle processor consumes 3-5x more power.
I strongly recommend staying with B02 which is working properly. I don't know what improve Bios B04, because Gigabyte doesn't publish logs, but it certainly doesn't contain newer microcodes, there is nothing new in the menu, and it breaks C-States. The newer B4 microcode for 9750H installs Windows 10 version 2004. -

https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/AERO-15-Classic--Intel-9th-Gen/support#support-faq
Latest B04 has screwed up C-states, previous working good is B02. I heard that the same problems have FB09 BIOS for different Aero models. -
15X here. I can't resume from sleep without hitting the power button. While my real goal is to be able to wake with an external usb keyboard, I can't even wake with the onboard one. Any ideas? I've disabled ability to shut of usb devices and also usb selective suspend. No joy. Any ideas?
I typically use the laptop "docked" with displayport display, usb keyboard, bluetooth mouse. -
Anyone know how to fix USB slot keep disconnecting or any related problem with USB slot?
I find that the official driver give us Asmedia USB driver which is not compatible with my Aero 15, which install Intel USB controller driver. -
Hello everyone.
First of all sorry for my English. Yesterday I received a brand new Gigabyte Aero 15 KB and I realized that I can´t change the "device information and power setup" profiles in the Control Center app while the laptop isn´t connected to the wall (I have reinstalled the latest version of the Control Center and nothing).
The point is that due there is no manual, I don´t know if this is normal and the AI app controls it or I need to do something else.
Thank you so much.
EDIT: I have contacted to the Gigabyte technical support and they said to me that if you do not connect the power adapter, it is normal for the [Device Information And Power Setup] in Smart Dashboard cant be changed.Last edited: Jul 14, 2020 -
Hi
Same as previous poster I received my Aero 15 OLED KB yesterday, everything is great except for the Wi-fi, or at least i guess its the source of the problem.
The WLAN card is a Killer 1650, so my problem is that I tried some games from my Uplay+, which need a permanent internet connexion during games sessions (AC odyssey, FC5...), and everytime I tried, after 5-10 minutes, the game closes and I have a "Internet connexion unavailable" message spawning from Uplay+. I tried an internet stability test software in the background during games, and when the game crashes, this software reports packet losses and unstability on the wifi. Also tested other online games, no connexion, even with firewall disabled.
Tried some drivers from Gigabyte website and Killer website, didnt do better.
I have no issues on my other laptop and my desktop PC on the same games/apps in the same conditions.
If you have any idea that could help me, I'll take it ! -
You should completely uninstall Killer drivers (there is an utility on their website, and use the Intel ones. Night and day between the two of them...

Hi all,
I recently purchased the Aero 15 OLED XB i7-10875H RTX 2070 super max-q. Very happy with initial testing. I created a usb recovery drive through the Gigabyte ControlCenter app.
I also purchased a 1TB Samsung 970 evo plus. I installed it in the laptop in the second nvme slot, ran samsung data migration to clone the original drive contents over to the Samsung. Tried turning the laptop back on, got an INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DRIVE blue screen error. I tried removing the original drive from the boot order in BIOS, still got the same blue screen error. I physically removed the original nvme drive and swapped the samsung 970 into the slot that the original drive was in. I powered the laptop back up and all seemed to be working fine.
But then I opened up the Gigabyte ControlCenter again, and saw that something had changed. Previously, in the bottom center of the ControlCenter widget there had been controls to set the power level of the cpu and the gpu (I think there were 4 levels for CPU, and 2 levels for the GPU). Now, the ControlCenter simply lists the CPU and GPU, but doesn't have controls available to adjust their power levels.
Any idea what I did wrong? Was the problem that I used samsung Data Migration? Should I have used Macrium instead to make sure that I copied absolutely everything from the intel drive that was originally in the laptop? Do those graphical controls in the Gigabyte ControlCenter matter at all? Is there a way to manage those settings outside the Gigabyte ControlCenter?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Attached is a photo of the ControlCenter after the samsung went in, when the graphical controls disappeared.
Thank you!Attached Files:

Did you find a solution for your ControlCenter issue ? Did you noticed it only when unplugged or all the time ?
If you still struggle with it, maybe should you give the AeroCtl software a try ( https://nxs.re/2019/08/19/aero.html ) ?
Imo, this issue might be related to the fact the OEM drive has Optane tech in it... (If someone can confirm this ?)
Also, can you tell me what Bios version you are running by now ? Did your cpu get the oh-so-sweat Plundervolt limitation ?
If so, how are the thermals for now ?
Have fun with your new beast ! -

Hi, I need help.
Is anyone know what is inside this part/area of my Aero 15 (2017)? Please look at the picture.
That area is bulging and I have no idea what is below/inside that surface.
It had been repaired before, changed the fan module.
Really appreciate any information I can get. ThanksAttached Files:

Hey, thanks, I read your messages last week and I have replaced my battery. Quite costly but it must be done.
Does anyone know what usually/mostly makes battery swollen in case of Aero 15 laptop? Mine is Aero 15 classic (2017). -
Anyone has the B02 bios for Aero 15 Classic-YA? The one with the unlocked C-states and can boost higher. I'm not sure if B03 is also fine but definitely not B04. This BIOS is horrible

I could not remove the fan covers as they seemed welded or glued onto the AC cooling metal conduit so I just lifted the covers once screws were removed and bent them back enough to pull off fans. This laptop is over two years old and the intake vents were caked with dust as you can see. Once back together there was a DRAMATIC difference in fan speed. Could hardly hear fans as I ran a game. These are just tips, not instructions on how to fix a buzzing fan. Even though only one was buzzing I opened the other fan cover to clean the air intake vent, which was also caked with dust.

See pic below for items used. Runs like a new Aero 15 laptop. No more fan buzzing. Runs much cooler. Fan may be difficult to pull off unless you are twisting it as you gently pull upward. Not responsible for your damage. Google YouTube 'Laptop fan repair" like I did for more info. Alcohol was used to clean fan shaft before oiling it.
EDIT: The gun oil did not last. Today is Sept 11th, 2020 and this time I am using motorcycle chain lube spray from a can. It comes out as a foam. Just a drop on the shaft.
EDIT: The chain lube seems to be doing fine. The fan is still whisper quiet as of Feb 2, 2021Attached Files:

Hey all, I recently got the Aero 15 OLED WA model of this laptop and I've noticed that the CPU doesn't go past 4ghz even when it's using a single core, then I read that this could happen if c-states are disabled. I'm not sure if Gigabyte disabled c-states on this laptop, but from looking at HWiNFO and ThrottleStop it doesn't seem like they're enabled. If Gigabyte did disable the c-states on it, the only way to fix it would be to flash an unlocked BIOS and enable them, correct?
EDIT: Flashing the FB08 BIOS fixed it.Last edited: Sep 6, 2020 -
Is the Thunderbolt 3 port not directly wired to the NVIDIA dedicated GPU? I could only use my DisplayPort Cable to use the left side DP1.4 port, and the TB3 port does not allow me to use the dGPU instead of the iGPU.

How can I switch from Intel integrated graphics to nvidia in BIOS?
I have UHD screen but in display settings or intel center, I can't put 2560x1440... there is many options but not that one. I read that in nvidia control panel I can set up custom resolution but in nvidia control panel I don't have display tab with "change resolution" option.. only 3d settings -
Hello everyone! Im a new Aero 15 SA owner and am struggling with an nvme ssd upgrade and wondered if anyone has any ideas. First off system specs:
I7 9750H
2x8Gb Samsung Ram
1660ti
512Gb Intel 760p
And finally the problem is the new sk hynix p31 nvme 1Tb that Im attempting to install in the second nvme slot.
Long story short any time the P31 is plugged in the system freezes on the gigabyte logo and wont respond to setup/boot/recovery. I have tried booting with it being the only attached drive and doing a fresh windows install via usb recovery ms tool. Also attempted changing bios between fb09-07 and fb08-07 with no changes. Any time the drive is connected to either slot it refuses to boot or access setup. Also tried legacy and uefi options in bios to try csm solutions others have had luck with in similar situations. Being honest though that stuff is a little out of my depth. Naturally I would assume the P31 drive was doa at this point but it flawlessly booted a fresh windows install on our xps 15 a minute ago and still no dice with the aero.
Apologies for the long post but this has been pushing my patience haha. Any ideas? -
Hi,
Have you noticed the frequent updates of the GCC these last few weeks ? -
Has anyone noticed FPS issues when connected via HDMI? I plugged into my TV for the first time today, made sure to set the display resolution and refresh rate to 1080p/60Hz in Nvidia and Windows settings, and can't seem to go above 50fps. Testing the refresh rate of my display online, I'm seeing a solid 60Hz. But in-game, and it doesn't matter what game, my framerate is capped at 50. This is the 9750H/2080 Max-Q Aero 15, with FB08 BIOS flashed. Framerates go back to normal once I unplug from the TV.
I'm wondering if this is something specific to the laptop, or if something else is the matter. -
Since TB and the power cable port are on the same side, I was wondering if the following would work :
- use the iGPU through TB port to display the image on the external display
- at the same time/as needed use the dGPU for video/photo editing and gaming. No external display attached to the HDMI or miniDP port,
but the editing software should be able to fully use the resources of the dGPU.
What I am trying to achieve is to have only two cables that connect only on one side of the laptop, really want to avoid having cables connected on both sides.
This way I can tuck the laptop away when at home (one of the YT reviews mentioned it should be able to work with full performance when the lid is closed),
connect two cables to it and work on the external display.
From what I found, there is a possibility in Windows to assign GPUs to individual applications, or even to do it through a context menu when starting the application,
but there is no info about where the external display has to be connected or if it makes any difference at all.
Maybe it is a basic question, but the variety of ports and their versions, alongside with lack of detailed specs information,
make it hard to understand what are the possibilities and limitations
Thanks in advance! -
