oh my... is this 2nd choice? than you probably have to keep it.
not sure about the us law, but in europe you would be able to return it for sure (14 days). if the seller refuses contact gigabyte and ask them how the **** this can happen and how they want to solve this issue. at least the card reader is broken. good luck mate

Hi everyone, before pulling the trigger on the Aero 17 I watched on YouTube and read online that both the Aero 15 and 17 had wifi issues which is a dealbreaker for me. Has this issue been resolved? Thanks.

I can assure you that mine has no problems with wifi at all. I have a stable and strong connection all the time, right out of the box. i guess it's mainly a problem of older models from 2018-2019, but I've also heared that some 2021 still have wifi issues.
As far as I know Gigabyte has not provided any updates for this so far. Last WLAN Driver is from early january 2021 (before the actual release)

    Hi,

this is brand new not used - bought it on Ebay on the Newegg storefront - when I packaged up the laptop I noticed the brick power supply sits right underneath the laptop where the damage occurred - seems either the box was dropped and the impact of the power supply caused damage or it was placed in the box from factory :( can't imagine how else anything could have happened to it - the brown box and laptop box were both in perfect shape no damage - Newegg approved the return fingers crossed I get no trouble - I am probably going to get the same model with the 3080 in it - can't seem to find any stock of the 3070 model

Can anyone confirm if the latest Aero 15 laptops (3000 series rtx) has a slightly curved display? I received a new damaged unit that had impact to the bottom case and it looks like the screen is slightly curved -I actually like it :D wasn't sure if that was from the damage or by design.

    Thanks!

Just wait a little longer for Spartan's and/or my reply, I would suggest.
Btw. yesterday I have contacted the livechat because of resizable-bar which ended in them just closing the chat, after they've asked me if this page helps https://www.gigabyte.com/WebPage/785/NVIDIA_resizable_bar.html and I told them not at all o_O
maybe it was unintentionally, but it sums up what's going on pretty well I guess

I got a reply that there is a VBIOS update which will enable Reisable BAR but they want me to RMA the laptop for them to do it! I told them no way since I live in Dubai and this is such a simple thing that every manufacturer offers. Still awaiting a reply.

    DISCLAIMER =
Just a note, the maximum TGP is now 100W down from the original 105W so it's a tradeoff here. I will still wait to see if the guys from GIGABYTE will send me the VBIOS.

I finally did it guys! I managed to flash a VBIOS from ASUS which has the same exact ID as the GPU on my GIGABYTE AERO 15 RTX 3080 8GB GPU and now I have Resizable BAR!

Verify your Device ID first, and then download the appropriate one:
    nvflash download = https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-nvflash/

    1) RTX 3070 8GB = https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/232160/232160
    2) RTX 3080 8GB = https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/229993/229993

I renamed the VBIOS to BIOS.rom and used this command in an elevated command prompt:
    nvflash -il -6 BIOS.rom

Make sure to right click on the file(s) you just downloaded, go to Properties, then hit Unblock from the bottom right as it may be blocked since it was downloaded from the internet, if you don't do this before you run the file or extract it, then it may not install correctly.

To prevent this automatic blocking of files in the future so you don't have to go unblocking every file you download to ensure it runs properly, follow the guide in this thread:

@up check device id in gpu-z. If you have 10DE 249D you can flash vbios form clevo which I posted for 105w Boost Clock: 1290 MHz. Make vbios backup before flash.

    What would you do??

I have an Aero 15 Classic-XA that had a keyboard key issue since new out of the box back in holiday 2019. It took me over a year and several headaches to verify if the issue was hardware or not (plus I'm uncomfortable shipping a $2500 computer 3K miles across the country for repair) so by then the warranty expired.

The other day I opened the laptop and removed the MB to do spring cleaning, and also to see if the keyboard was DIY fixable or whatever. And surprise, it's welded and riveted to the top cover with an anti-heat film covering it. Like this: https://imgur.com/a/G4mPDwl . Zero replacement keyboards or covers found (HP, Dell, etc are A LOT more DIY-friendly).

So being out of warranty I reached out to Customer Service to see what could be done. They want $90 for out-of-warranty fee, $30 shipping, and $200 for a replacement keyboard/cover. So $320 to fix. There's a "One Year Extended Warranty" on their web store for $300, which would cover this issue and other stuff. But why should I have to pay to resolve an issue that THE MANUFACTURER CAUSED?

What would you do?? o_O

I see you managed to flash the VBIOS but there's also a modified version of nvflash which will override a board id mismatch here.

That didn't work, it won't see the GPU since it's very new. I just used the latest VBIOS with the ASUS VBIOS. Everything is mentioned in my post earlier.

Update on the keyboard replacement (post #4358):

Instead of shipping my Aero 15 cross country, I asked CS if I could just buy the C cover part, so I could have it installed by a local professional. They won't allow it. In their words: "The repair center does not ship parts out. You will need to send it in for service."

So the only way to get any Gigabyte replacement part is to "send it in for service", because apparently their company isn't relevant enough to have aftermarket presence unlike HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, etc. And if this is the case, they should at least be more accommodating in the meantime, but nope.

Gigabyte doesn't make it easy for users to maintain their machines, which I gather is a huge problem for many shoppers/customers. And if I had known about this before buying, I would 100% have gone with a different brand. This will be my first and last purchase from them.

If I had the Dell equivalent of an Aero 15 (eg Alienware m15 R4 2070), and its keyboard needed replacement, less than a minute later I found a RGB Backlit keyboard to replace it thanks to Parts-People. No cover needed, $49.95, and free shipping.

Looks pretty green to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Hi,

First of all, I apologize in advanced for my ignorance, because I’m a kind of a newbie in this world.

The thing is, I’m one of those who got instant regret of buying the aero when I saw that I couldn’t use directly the nvidia gpu because if this thing called nvidia optimus.

But you’ve mentioned of mux, so it seems that I can get rid of optimus, which would be perfect for me.

Could anyone show me how to connect the internal screen directly to the dGPU via mux, please? I don’t see any option on the BIOS.

    Thanks

@up if you don't have this option in bios, you don't have a mux.

Bypass Optimus only when connecting an external monitor to the connectors connected directly to the nvidia gpu.

It seems that with my BIOS unlocked (Aero XC 3070) the switchable graphics option appears. But I’m worried that if I switch to the dgpu, the screen goes black forever and I will have to reflash the bios with a SPI programmer. Has anyone tried it with the new AEROs?

    Thanks :)

It quickly went out of stock from our site as it's the perfect money to performance ratio and we aren't expecting GIGABYTE to send us anymore that's why we removed the listing. We only have the RTX 3060/3080 and the 3080 has a big jump in price, you could almost buy 2 laptops for the price of that 3080 variant.

oh my, I guess we won't see any updates for the current models anymore.
however, if they only changed to an 11th gen intel, I can live with that.
having a lot of fun with mine since 3,5 months.
if i would have gone with the acer nitro 5 with rtx 3070 model, i still would be waiting ;)
