Does having something plugged into the USB-C port on the right side of the Aero interfere with using a mouse?

No. I had the power plug plugged in which sits flush with along the side of the laptop chaassis and I also had a USB-Type C Dongle attached to the Thunderbolt port on the right and never had an issue using a mouse.

    @Spartan@HIDevolution
Ever since the latest windows update. I'm getting random bsods. Which the dumps are pretty generic with - pshed.dll whea uncorrectable error-
I have the 17g XC with the 10870h and 3070.
Temps are perfect , and all of the bsods are random while the PC is Idle. I have been able to avoid more frequent bsods by using throttlestop to make the power profile "High Performance" show up in the control panel power options. As the Gigabyte created profiles are the only defaults available. Is there any way to run this laptop without Control Center? As far as the fan profiles are concerned? I use the gaming fan profile and am happy with it. Buuuttttt
Given the ransomware attack. Getting the websites version of GCC isnt possible right now. And I'm thinking either XTU or Control Center is the root cause of my issues.

    1) Do you by any chance have a Killer Networking card on your laptop?

    2) I never install or will come near Throttle Stop

    3) I don't use XTU on my laptop as well.

    4) Are all your drivers up to date? like literally all of them including Thunderbolt, LAN, WLAN, Bluetooth, etc

    5) To restore all the power plans, you don't need additional software, see: How to Restore Missing Default Power Plans in Windows 10 + adding the new Ultimate Performance Power Plan

    I have the Intel wifi.
I'm seeing where Control Center is installing XTU as one of its dependencies. So that is where XTU is coming from.
As far as the drivers, I had installed all of the ones from your mega pack in the other thread from earlier in June. I tried to get the ones in your latest driver update pack but the link isn't working.
I'm almost at the point of just doing a fresh install of windows and hoping for the best lol.
Given how Gigabyte pretty much abandoned this laptop so quick. I wish I would have just waited for a Tiamat to pop up in stock somewhere and purchased it.

    I have figured something out.
Adding the power plans manually only sticks for a little bit. They eventually disapear, and the Gigabyte created ones are the only ones that remain. If high performance is checked in Throttle Stop, then it stays there.

Hi, anyone else has problems with charging the laptop? When I connect my power adapter my laptop stays in "Plugged In" state, but doesn't change to "charging" state. I had some luck by going into battery settings and changing the "Battery saver automatically on" option to something other than "Never" but that is kind of hit and miss. It doesn't even charge when the laptop is completely shutdown.

I'm testing two sets of SODIMM memory for the Aero 15 OLED KD (3060 & 11800h).

    Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz 64GB (32GBx2) 1.35V CL16
    G.Skill RipJaws Series 3200 MHz 64GB (32GBx2) 1.2V CL22

I was thinking that the CL16 ram would be better. When I put the Crucial into the laptop it defaulted to 2666 CL20. The G.Skill memory was automatically configured correctly (3200 at CL22). Is it because of the 1.35V overclocking vs 1.2V? I can't configure the timings or the speed of the memory in the BIOS at all. The BIOS version is FB03 (latest version, not even on their website) and came with the laptop out of the box. Does this require a previous or hacked BIOS version to edit the speed/timings?

    Cheers!
    Ben

You need a unlocked bios to edit timings manually. Check out winraid forums for help. In order to have working manual timings control, I had to enable overclock mode in the unlocked overclocking menu. Even when I set timings manually on the default adata memory to something like forced 3200mhz 21-21-21, I actually was getting much worse latency in aida64 and passmark mem test than when its set to default. Some of the bandwidth tests were slightly better, but not worth the worse latency. Talking about 10ns+ worse. Check out the thread in this forum on tiger lake memory behavior. Something is weird with tiger lake memory settings. The default dynamic clocks and timings always give me better results. Wish I had some 3200cl16 memory to test, but not gonna bother.

    Hi,

    I bought this aero laptop
Product Name: AERO 15 OLED KD
    Model: i711800H
    Operating System: Win 10 64-bit

It has no nahimic software. If I download from the windows store it says the drivers are outdated or the system is not compatible.

    Any fix?

    Thanks

I've had the 3060 version of the Aero (AERO 15 KD) for almost a month now. Where do I find the vBIOS modded file for 130w TGP? I didn't see it in this thread at all.

Hello Aero and Aorus owners and any gigabyte laptop that uses SmartManager or ControlCenter!
If you ever wondered if you could get rid of the gigabyte software from your laptop here I am!

I found that a good man made a CC/SM alternative but it needed to have CC/SM installed to work so I made a install file with some files I extracted from the CC/SM install and now you don't need SM/CC anymore at all on the laptop.

The CC/SM alternative is AeroCtl that you can get from here:
    https://gitlab.com/wtwrp/aeroctl/-/releases

And my install file you can get from here:
    https://github.com/Ghioaga/AeroMinimal/releases

On a clean windows install just run the AeroMinimal install(second link), choose your option (CC/SM laptop) and enjoy your bloat-free laptop.
Also packed in the install is a Gigabyte Fusion standalone version that lets you customize your RGB keyboard.
The only thing, as far as I can see, that you loose, is the color calibration that I intend to implement in the install file as well eventually. (I don't know from where is CC downloading the x-rite files).
Please for any troubles or questions get to me on my Reddit
    https://www.reddit.com/user/Ghioaga
and I will happily help you with your troubles and add the source of your trouble as a fix to the install.

I use the 1.0.0.7 version on my current system. I didn't reinstall windows new. I already used aero Control before, but never had a proper Autostart and some minor issues with stability. Thanks to your Files, now it starts automatic and it works very stable.

    Hello everybody,
do you think it's possible to change the VBIOS from the Aero 15xc (RTX 3070 105w) to a VBIOS of an Aorus 15P (RTX 3070 130w)? If possible, maybe someone has it for me and can tell me how to install it.
    Thanks in advance

    yes it works fine

    i have aero 15xd 11800h + 3070 105w and flashed 130w bios few month ago successfuly

thermals looks pretty same 73 - 75 degrees while gaming. And overwall power consumtion now about 200w compared to original 170-180w. That still lower than specification of power adapter ( 230w )

why they does not make it from the box?

    You are fantastic!

It worked perfectly well. With your help, I would say I increased my GPU speed by about 10% overall. I lost slightly CPU performance, but just about 1 %. HWinfo told me that my GPU draw about 132W with a max Temp of 77 °C.

I've been dealing with a very weird USB problem on a new Gigabyte Aero 15 XD.

All ports seem to work fine while using the system. Everything connects well and everything works as supposed on Windows. I'm also able to start the laptop with anything connected, but... not restart. Here's the problem: I'm never able to restart the laptop when there's a HUB connected. It doesn't matter if I restart from the BIOS or from Windows, if there's a HUB connected to any USB port, even the type-c, with any kind of device there, a mouse or keyboard, the laptop just keeps on with a black screen and nothing happens, it never starts. I need to manually shut it down and power it again.

Other than this, everything seems normal for now. I just can't ever restart the laptop with a USB HUB.

By the way, the laptop restarts ok with any HUB connected if there's nothing connected to the HUB. A single mouse is enough for it to never restart again.

I tested with USB 2.0, 3.0 and type-c HUBs, with different mice and keyboards. Tested the restart from BIOS and from Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and 21H1. Tried also all options available on BIOS for USB.

Anyone knows why this happens? I always had a HUB with a mouse, keyboard and webcam, connected to all my previous laptops. I never saw anything like this. Why it's not possible to restart an Aero 15 XD? anyone else with an Aero 15 XD with this problem? Is this normal on this model?

I've been contacting the seller about this since I found out the problem, a couple of days after I received it. Now after almost three weeks they contacted asking me to send the laptop for repair. I used it for a few weeks and it's already going for repair. It's a brand new laptop and I'm pretty sure that I'll receive it all scratched, as usual, after repair, I'd prefer to repair it my self if possible. Anyone knows what I can do to fix this problem?

At the moment I go back and forth between the Aero 15 i7-10870H (just the 1/8 out into an amplifier) and my desktop PC, where I use the optical out into a 96 KHz DAC and to the same amplifier. There is a slight drop in quality but not very noticeable. I wouldn't worry about it too much, because it is fairly standard and you have the option of outputting audio via HDMI into a AV receiver or TV if you like.

I have an mbeat USB2/3 hub type-A always connect to my 15 XD, and it always has a mouse and keyboard connected to it. No problems with it. I don't have a type-c hub to try sorry. I've not made ANY BIOS changes.

The 230W power adaptor of an aero 15 XD is very heavy and bulky. If I don't need full CPU power or GPU support for games is there a lower wattage adaptor more suitable for travelling that would be compatible?

    I bought this one...
    Poppstar Universal Slim Netzteil, 100W Ladekabel für Laptop/Notebook (4,5A - 4,86A / 18,5-20V), USB Anschluss (5V 2A), 10 Wechselstecker, ca. 300cm

its quite light, and works fine as long as you use your pc not under heavy load. I tried it with gaming, and i have very hard frame drops, it seems like if the notebook changes between the battery and the power supply, but under normal conditions it works perfectly well. It also has a USB A port for charging a mobile Phone.

You know were to buy it :)

There seem to be one available, at least for the Aero 15x and v8, that's the selling name, you know where to look...
On the photos it seems to fit for a 15xd too. But I have a German keyboard, the Shift cap is smaller on mine and I have another cap. Also, the Enter key is different, it may just fit for an American Keyboard Layout. You have to check if it will fit for you.

Please be also aware, that you lose some cooling capabilities, the notebook takes also air through the Keyboard

    Name at the seller's Homepage:

thank you dengaruc. i am just concerned that the 15x/15xd and v8 might have different keyboard vs the Aero 15 OLED version. instead, i opted for a universal one without key imprints... not as nice, but perhaps more air can travel through?

thank you for warning me about the cooling aspect of the keyboard :)

Hi all has anyone had weird issues with the keyboard backlight? My Aero 15 (i7-7700HQ) has just recently started turning the keyboard backlight on by itself then turning off. Never did that before now all of a sudden it's started doing it. Tried uninstalling all the RGB Fusion and Smart Manager etc but to no avail? Can't find any information online about this as well. Hope someone can help it's driving me mad!!

So I reinstalled Windows to get rid of the bloat like many suggest, and saved the Pantone calibration file with a .icc extension. How do I go about restoring it?

I think a simple double click will do the trick.

i have the same problem with a Aero 15 XC 1 year old, it didn't use to do that. but right now i have the same issue. Starting the laptop with usb c connected to my screen (that has a hub) just gives a black screen. If i first start it and then connect it works fine. I'm not sure why it happened, it was used by a coworker with a thunderbolt dock.

I also have a Aero 15 XD, brand new (1 week old) that i don't have the issue with. If anyone is looking for a power adapter, i have the really small Ugreen 100W PD GAn adapter that does work with the usb c port, it just doesn't have enough power for running the CPU and GPU full power. So this small box is now always in my bag, as i can also fast charge my ipad or phone (when connected to the pc it won't charge anything else though!)

    I have the first Aero 15 (2017) with 7700HQ and 1060M

This last 1 month, I occasionally getting BSOD/crash while playing games with error/stopcode:
    video_scheduler_internal_error (95% of the time)
    video_tdr_failure (sometimes)
    memory management (just once)

I send it to service and they said visually there is no damage on the hardware. They tested all the laptop and they got BSOD once while playing games. Then they update the driver and windows and they said the laptop don't get BSOD again. After they send it back to me, I tried playing games like Genshin Impact, and after sometime, it crashed again.

Anyone know what's probably the problem of my laptop? Is this hardware or software problems?

Is it possible to change the power output on the usb A ports on a 2021 Aero 15 KD? I usually charge my phone off my laptop at home and it's only outputting around 200 mA while the laptop is plugged in. My older Alienware would put out at least 4x that much through the usb A port.

There was some talk about the Thunderbolt 3 output and it being a 4x PCIe lane affair.
I do have an issue with a new TB3 Startech TB32DP2T dual 4k DP adaptor: I just cannot get it driving two screens simultaneously. My Aero 15S Oled SA has the latest drivers as far as I can tell, including the "optional" ones in Windows update and the latest TB drivers from thunderbolttechnology.net. I can unplug one monitor and plug it into the other DP output on the box and it works, so it feels like it just won't drive 2x monitors, regardless of resolution.

I really don't understand this. I managed to return my first Aero 15 XD, mainly because of those problems, not restarting with an USB HUB connected. Today I received a completely brand new Aero 15, I even bought it in a different country, and it has exactly the same problem. I've been testing dozens of USB HUBs from USB 2 to the latest 3 and type-C, and I can't find one single USB HUB fully compatible with the Aero 15 XD.

The GPU alone can output over 100W so I don't know why you would think a GaN charger of the same wattage would be able to drive the entire laptop at full speed.
