That's the point, as soon as I put them into a dual channel configuration (1-2, 3-4, 1-4 or 2,3) it refuses to boot.

Also again I don't have voltage control :(

Well that's under XMP settings, something I can't set.

Also Dimms per channel is just if the settings are for 2 sticks or 4 sticks.

yeah, I am watching American Pie Reunion but already prepared his profile to edit.. soon...

Flash only 1 stick at a time. It is 8GB sticks so I did not touch timings. Only made it work 1866 and that is it. It is 12-12-12.

If you need smth else or want to risk and ask me to lower them tell me.

We can try. But if it is 4Gb sticks RAM then I think there already were profiles for it in the first post

@deuceduzit just don't vanish. Tell us how does it work.

    Hi guys,
I've been directed here by Meaker, thanks man :)
I've been reading the how to, I wonder if anyone can help me ocing my ram if possible.
I have a Kingston XMP 1600 ram kit, I wonder if it's possible to OC it at least to 1866 or above.
I'm running an unlocked bios (that lets me tweak ram settings), and a 2820qm currently OCed to 3,6ghz (turbo).
I don't have a clue where I do start with timings, only thing I know is that by ram spec is CL9.
    Thank you all in advance!

if you cant go into your bios right now and set it and go, then you have to flash..we have 2133 in our bios, but we dont really have the voltage to be running 12 to 32 gig of ram at that speed....not yet anyway....but they will start making some i would guess.

Speed and XMP profile but not timings.

So you need TB to alter the timings, is it kingston ram you have?

Hey guys, just asking. Is it possible to flash a Corsair 1066 to either 1333 or 1600 freq?

I have a pair of CM3X4GSD1066 4GB modules and I would like to flash them to 1333 or 1600. (pref CL9)

    Further details by CPU-Z: [IMG]

I would like this to work on a HM65 platform

    Memory modules read: Corsair 256M8DCJGNAB0501113 546YA106 L

Very small module read (voltage regulators?): ACE24lCO21016J0R

    Thanks in advance

Yeah it is. Heres a screenshot that details the stick:

I tried set speed (only) to 1866 thru bios but its black screen on boot, had to reset cmos.
I cant tweak any other details tho.

I will have to edit first post to tell everyone to attach RAM profiles anytime the ask to mod smth.

@Mobius 1 Yeah, this is very easy to make 1333 RAM from 1066 RAM. In fact it is the same RAM but has different profile was wriitten on it. This is why prices are the same for 1066 and 1333 RAM. And yeah, I can make it work 1600. But It is safer if I do it Cl11 or at least CL10. Not CL9. Unless you already had a deal with broken RAM sticks and already had a success in reflashing them to recover.

@Kingpinzero It is easy to create a profile. But tell us if your laptop uses XMP profiles? And where is your stock profile?

I assume you tried to boot with 1 modded stick. Now put 2 sticks and flash back the one wich was failed (to recover).

I will give you another profile soon.
BTW. I added there XMP profile. Can you use it? I increasaed voltage from 1.5 to 1.55. Maybe that will help

@Mobius 1 will do it now.

Here I attach 2nd modded profile for 8GB sticks. I am sure this one is better. On the other hand the question is still here if I will need to increase timings or not.

EDIT: No, wait. I am not sure that this one is better. Most likely it will fail too. But still try it.

@mobius Residual Voltage has success to Overclock this RAM even more with Taiphoon burner OC and bclc OC (increasing FSB).
They are Samsung 1600mhz 11-11-11-28 default at 1.5v. These are about a year maybe two old. These arent the new ultra low volt. HE bought a second pair off ebay with same model number but different date code. They handled 2133 @ 13-13-13-36. But his first pair ive got 1.6v 2233 @ 9-10-10-25 and via baseclock 2275mhz at 10-11-11-31 @1.65v.
Model numbers my 2133 cl13 is m471b5273dh0-ck0 with date code 1107. His good pair is same model with date code 1134.

There was no need to give me 2 profiles because as sticks were the same, profiles were identical too.

I sent you 2 mods. 1 is Normal and 2-nd is with slightly better timings (Cl10).

At first use normal mod. And only if you think that all is OK and tests are passed fine use 2nd profile if you want.

What I have to do to see if it works? Just flash one?

Do you understand that even if it is possible (you are the one who can tell us this. You need to see if Thaiphoon Demo will read any profile) it is very dangerous. If you kill RAM, there will be no way to recover it. And even more! You will kill your laptop.

I do not suggest you to even think about it :)

@Kingpinzero you will need to take out 1 stick from laptop and leave only 1 stick inside. Then flash it. Then check it. If it works then do the same with 2nd and check when both inside.

Do i need to put in the good stick, put the second in the second slot, and flash it? Or i can just throw it away?

EDIT: i bought the program, but i cant write to ram, the write option is greyed out. Any thoughts?

you can put 2nd stick in and boot. in the worst scenario like poцer shut off in the middle of flashing you will have to try to boot with good one stick inside and hot plug dead stick after post.

if you have trubles with program you need to restart it
    and launch it as admin.
Also you may need to press f8 button whe boot andchoose boot with disabled driver signature
and the last if it doesnt help you should launch aida64 and then launch thaiphoon as admin

Finally :) Now I answer you post and go read a book. It is 00:14 a.m. in Ukraine.

The best way is to usse Memtest86+. You can put it on USB flash drive and est memory without launching windows (the best way). but you also need to check it for more than 1-2 hours, better on all night.

So at this point you may test it for 10 minutes in Windows 7 (memtest86+ or else) and tell us what speed is your RAM running now. Is it 1866 for sure? Use AIDA to check it.

    Good night

Even TB reads it as 1866.
I'll run memtest and see what it does, thanks for now!

So... Should I still try this one? I guess we can try to increase the timings? Maybe give it a lil more juice 1.55??? What do you suggest? I'm willing to try anything.

EDIT: Tried it, same thing... Bluescreens. Maybe if we raise the volts? Has anyone ever had success with Corsair 16gb 1600mhz (2x8gb) kits?

I forgot to add that I'm using an overclock on CPU as well with bclk tuning (102,94).
My ram now reads 954mhz in dual channel. Currently testing windows mem test tool.
Test but so far both sticks are flashed to 1866 an working I guess.
Gotta see how they do with a 3dmark11 run.
Thanks for everything James, rep and I hope to read u soon. Good night!

    Can't sleep.

Ok. We will try new. I increased latency on 5% to CL13. Try this one now. If it works we will try to lower them just a little bit back.

Also I added the prelast chance CL14 profile. If it will not work then there are couple latencies which I did not touch because they are usually the same on every RAM stick but will try them.

    Ok. Lets summarize.

    1. First profile I gave you with CL13 timings posted but failed booting Windows.
    2. All other failed at all except the last with CL15.

These profiles should work 1866 in auto mode. What do you mean "but cannot go anything higher 1600"?
    Can you use XMP profiles?
Can you give photos of what are you using in your BIOS?

Everything on Auto... On the CL15 one it booted at 1600MHZ on auto, tried using XMP but it wont go past 1600, I even tried manually selecting 1866 without success. The others wont even post. All settings on default auto. I'll take a snapshot tomorrow, no camera...
