#Byton is probably not a car brand most of you have ever heard of, but the company was founded in 2016 with one of the founders coming from BMW who was responsible for the BMW i3. It will be a global car brand with production to be done in China, designed in Germany but headquartered in America. At launch, the 2021 #MByteConcept will compete head on with the upcoming Tesla Model Y and Audi e-Tron and Byton says the base version will go 250 miles on a full charge, take just 30 mins to recharge to 80%, and cost just $45,000 when it goes on sale in mid-2020 here in America.

About 5 years ago, #MercedesBenz shocked the world with the #CLA in 2014.
They Finally Did It!It was the first-ever FWD Mercedes and it was also the least expensive way to get into the 3-pointed star brand. For 2020, there's a new version that will address the shortcomings of the first-generation and it looks like Mercedes got the exterior and interior design right. At launch, the #CLA250 will get a 221 HP 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder paired with a 7-speed DCT. #CES2019

$699!!! GTX 1080 Ti 2 years late and same price. So same price as a cheap 2080 without RTX features.Last edited: Jan 9, 2019 -
AMD Radeon VII 16GB $699, as fast or faster than the RTX 2080 8GB which is about $800 or $100 more right now, maybe the price will drop by Feb 7th when the AMD Radeon VII 16GB $699 ships?

"AMD Reveals Radeon VII: High-End 7nm Vega Video Card Arrives February 7th for $699
...part of AMD’s CES 2019 keynote, CEO Dr. Lisa Su announced that AMD will be releasing a new high-end, high-performance Radeon graphics card. Dubbed the Radeon VII (Seven), AMD has their eyes set on countering NVIDIA’s previously untouchable GeForce RTX 2080.
Radeon VII should beat their former flagship by anywhere between 20% and 42% depending on the game (with an overall average of 29%), which on paper would be just enough to put the card in spitting distance of NVIDIA’s RTX 2080, and making it a viable and competitive 4K gaming card.

I expected more, a lot more performance than they showed here. I can't imagine they held back or haven't tried to get it higher. You don't come on stage at CES to match your competitor, especially when trying to show off a hyped up 7nm node shrink. I didn't see any mic drop here. Looking at Radeon 7's price, it would appear 7nm is an expensive chip to use. Hopefully AMD can keep Zen 2 price low.Papusan likes this. -

Seriously though, they are actually related (cousins once removed). -
This is early silicon, with release being "middle" of 2019, meaning possibly May as some rumors say (50 year anniversary), June for computex (may just be an announcement), to as late as August.
Also, the package has traces for a second chiplet, so expect 12 and/or 16 core variants, while using the I/O core masks the NUMA node, avoiding the issues on TR of NUMA awareness.

jim from adore was pretty dead on on most of the cpu stuff and it is obvious amd has no reason to give us 16 cores thats priced at 8 cores, they are here to make money.
find it funny dumbs would say no 16 cores and his prediction is wrong, rofl just can't argue with the brain deads.
AMD's MT is actually quite the performer in CB15, even with zen+ clock for clock with intel's 9900k it already has the advantage. however with the I/O die being moved off might have some effect to it, overall it is great to see they can match an all core 9900k at 4.7ghz and beat it in score.
from this, i'd dare say ipc is at least on par with intel, then if it can at least do a 4.6ghz on all cores then it is worth a buy if its 16 cores.
also, AMD not showing frequency to me would be something to take note of, they have no need to hide it. since they did, it could mean this chip might be at 4.5ghz max with similar IPC to intels, besting intel in CB15 score due to it's superior MT design but means frequency still has it's limit. -
AMD's CES 2019 Press Event in 9 Minutes: Ryzen is here to stay
Engadget
Published on Jan 9, 2019
AMD announced that its much-anticipated 7-nanometer, 3rd-generation Ryzen 3 chips will start shipping in mid-2019, and talked about some of the benefits of the new design. The company ran a live Cinebench test at stock frequencies against Intel's latest 8th-generation Core i9-9900K chip to show that it would draw about 30 percent less power, while edging it in performance. "Now you really see the power of 7-nanometer technology and what being aggressive with technology does," said AMD CEO Lisa Su.
To be fair, the i9-9900K is one of Intel's most powerful, and power-hungry desktop chips, and AMD's chips have yet to ship -- so it's not close to a real-world test. However, it does show that AMD means to compete head-to-head with Intel's best chips, and the lower power draw is certainly a big advantage. Read more: https://www.engadget.com/2019/01/09/a...

The GS75 is the bigger brother to the MSI GS65 Stealth that many people know and love. Until now, there wasn't a good 17" MSI option for gamers looking for an ultra slim bezel thin gaming laptop that also has high performance. This one certainly will be extremely popular going forward. The GS75 Stealth features a i7-8750H, RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, three M.2 SSD slots, a full size keyboard from steelseries, and a very rigid chassis. I'm very curious to see how well this thing stays cool and performs when I get it in for review. Hope you enjoyed the video!

@hmscott I forgot one thing about Radeon Vega2 aka VII. I suspect they went with similar architecture like Nvidia which is coupling bigger cores rather than use small core and combine the workloads. Mining might suffer a little but AMD's selling point was Gaming and Creativity workload based GPU. Only benchmarks will let users know how it will be.

The MSI GE75 Raider is the mid-size, high performance model from MSI this year, featuring a full RTX 2080 NON MAX-Q. It is the lowest priced full RTX 2080 that I was able to find at CES2019. This is the Eurocom Sky X4C, or officially know as the Clevo P750TM1. It's a laptop that features socketable CPU and upgradable GPU. It's the fastest laptop money can buy that's under 8 lbs weight, and that's not all. It's got crazy amount of ports, 4 hard drives slots, and upgradeable screen. But is it worth buying? In my review, we do plenty of benchmarks, test out the temperatures, and see how fast it really is. Enjoy!
Link to Eurocom Sky X4C (NOT SPONSORED): http://www.eurocom.com/ec/configure(2,431,0)SkyX4C
There was so much to fit in this laptop review, but I also want to mention something important for advanced users. This laptop comes with an unlocked bios developed by Eurocom. It allows you to overclock/underclock/undervolt the CPU, which is great. But you should be aware that other competitors also offer another bios that is widely regarded as better called Prema bios, which I have used before in previous Clevo laptops. HIDEvolution does ship their laptops with the Prema bios, so there's that bonus for them as well, though Eurocom does charge slightly less overall for the same spec'd laptop hardware.

Published on Jan 8, 2019
The new Aorus 15 with RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 will be Gigabyte's mid-range laptop this year for thinner laptops. The curious thing is that the Aero 15 is thinner and has less cooling, but the Aero 15 is going to have the option to have the i9-8950HK, while the Aorus 15 is stuck with the i7-8750H. The new Aorus 17 will feature higher end processors and GPUs, but it won't be out for several months. My first impression is that the Aorus 15 very well might be the better buy because it will likely have better cooling than the Aero 15, but we'll see.

The Best TVs of CES 2019
Digital Trends
Published on Jan 10, 2019
This was a huge year for TVs at CES. In some cases, literally. Some years we see just incremental improvements on existing technology or a bunch of buzzwords that leave us cold when the rubber hits the road. But this year, we saw some real innovation and some big leaps forward. TV makers are pushing the edge of the envelope like never before. Here’s our list of the best TVs at CES.
LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R (65R9)
Let’s start with the most intriguing: LG’s roll-up OLED TV is every bit as magical as you’ve imagined. LG’s 65-inch 4K OLED Type R. The R stands for roll-up or, as we like to call it, Roll-ed. The TV emerges from a long rectangular box like a phoenix from the ashes, and when you’re done watching, it rolls right back down, out of sight. It can also be minimized into what LG calls “line view” to deliver different kinds of content. There’s an integrated speaker system but LG is supporting WiSA this year, which means wireless surround sound is now possible in a whole new way. We found this TV to be so remarkable, we gave it our coveted best Tech of CES award.
SAMSUNG MICRO LED “THE WALL” TV
We move on to the biggest TV here: Samsung’s 219-inch “The Wall.” It’s a Micro LED TV, which means there’s no backlight. It’s emissive, like OLED, but unlike OLED it uses only Red, Green, and Blue pixels, so not only can it deliver true black levels, but it is incredibly bright and colorful. This is a modular system, too, so the idea is that it can be assembled in any size or shape you want, but as conventional TV sizes go, Samsung went and surprised us with a 75-inch variant, which could be a TV you could own one day.
LG 88-INCH 8K OLED (Z9)
Also, in the LG booth is this stunning 88-inch 8K OLED. It’s not just big, it’s luscious. The picture is deep, rich, and intoxicating. For best picture quality at the show, this is it for us. It’s also important to point out that LG, like all the big manufacturers, is supporting Apple AirPlay 2, so you can now play your iTunes movies, TV shows, and music through the TV using your iOS device or Mac. Honestly, if the roll-up OLED wasn’t so compelling, this would be our pick for best TV at CES.
SAMSUNG 98-INCH 8K QLED TV (Q900)
Next up is Samsung 98-inch 8K QLED TV. Not only is it big, but its super well-designed both from an aesthetic standpoint, but also the user experience. From Samsung’s no-gap wall mount to its automatic source detection, to the one-connect box and one-connect cable – this TV is just a bigger version of the 8K awesome we’ve come to expect from Samsung. Count on Samsung’s A.I. upscaling system to make any content you watch, from any source, look great at 8K resolution.
SONY 98-INCH 8K LED/LCD TV (Z9G)
Sony also has a 98-inch 8K LED TV, and it’s a looker. The feather in Sony’s cap is its X1 Ultimate processor, which does an incredible job at not just upscaling, but cleaning up an image. Those banding artifacts you get with streaming content – which let’s face it is mostly what we watch — looks smooth as silk on this TV, and that’s critical at this size. Sony is making a few other 8K models this year, but it’s hard to deny this 98-incher is the most cinematic-looking TV we’ve seen at the show this year.
TCL 75-INCH 8K ROKU TV
Now over to TCL, which is poised to blow up even bigger in 2019. It’s got a 75-inch 8K TV, too, but the difference here is that it is a Roku TV and that it will come in far less expensive than its competition. With TCL producing an 8K TV at this size, it is likely far more people will be able to take the step up in resolution if they want to. It doesn’t hurt that this TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG types of high dynamic range content directly from the Roku platform, making it one of the most user-friendly TVs on our list.
That’s a lot, isn’t it? As we said, it was an exciting year for TV at CES 2019, and these were just our picks for the best. There are a lot more where these came from, and we’re going to be reviewing a lot of them this year, so keep visiting Digital Trends for the best TV reviews and all your insightful daily tech news.

TVs of CES 2019: 8K is still a fantasy

CES is about new TVs. The week we spend in Las Vegas every year is a showcase for the present and the far-off future of home entertainment. CES 2019 was no different, and we saw a lot on the show floor that’s got us excited. But 8K, the biggest TV trend at CES for yet another year, still feels like a fantasy that’s not making much progress towards becoming a living room reality.
