So you're idling at 88 degrees C?![]()

I think you did it wrong..... anyways.... this weekend its time to re paste some of my desktops if I have time.... Love this stuff
Will also run prime95 again tonight to see if it effected anything....Never going back to AC again, only down side is that it does cost about $10-15 more a tube but it should last a LONG time.
IC Head dude guy of greatness, How do you suggest we store this stuff for the long time we do not plan on using it? -

I think my free sample for testing was the victime of teh Canada Post strike =(
-
It might very well be. In any case, i think i'll proceed to order a new tube of ICD7 from: Innovation Cooling IC7 Thermal Compound - Hardware Canucks Store. If i get the ICD24 tube, then even more goodness from IC for me. Otherwise, i'll get by on the tube of ICD7.

I quote OEM's 2 years because I have to give a number so that's our official shelf life spec. -
I continued to use the rest of it any way as it seemed to work the same. must of just been seperation from the chem that was used to lower the viscosity, cuz i blew the nipple off the siringe trying to get some out. i had no pump out issues with it after that. but i dont think the general modder would care to work with something tha thick. it was like tar but without the memory effect... no joke. -

I thought the strike was over and tried to mail Some Canada posts but the US post office would not accept any bound for our northern brethren.
working on the spreadsheet - kind of a hard slog going through the 16 pages but should be up in a day or two -
And...if only I would have seen this,. bought some IC Diamond yesterday.
-
Still haven't received mine
Southeast Asia seems to take the longest for it to arrive

Im in the Philippines. You?

Rule of thumb about 10-14 days on the international and we mail one or twice a week so add a few days to that - if you have the right address you will get it.

OK Guys, i just got my tube today (im in Canada) so the canadapost strike is over and im guessing other canadians should get it soon enough. Just a heads up, i'm going to London tomorrow for a little less than 2 weeks and i might go to italy after than for another 2 but as soon as i get back home i'll be repasting my beast. Sorry for the delay, canadapost strike didnt help the matter.
-
Just got my tube as well, good news for us Canadians.
-
no tube for me yet ><
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
Thanks! I received mine monday, repasted and then my gpu decided to die on the same day.
So I will get another pc and use on it
no sarcasm or blame intended -
hey thanks for the icd24!!! I got it a week ago and im really excited to use it. Problems is, is that im waiting for my copper shim/copper heatsinks to arrive so that i can apply the icd24. The heatsink/shim is shipping all the way from china so it'll take a while (like 1-2 weeks). As soon as I get it i'll copper mod my computer and post temps right away. Thanks again!
-
Hey guys, even if im leaving for london tomorrow i've decided to post my temps pre-ICD...here are the results...do you think my laptop was giving normal readings if you take into consideration thats its 1 year and 3 months old?
-
(10chars bla bla bla) -
Finally got my laptop repasted, will post results soon.
-
If i apply the paste correctly il probably get somewhat similar temp results. -
ON MY HONOR IN EXCHANGE FOR FREE COMPOUND I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR TO TEST AND POST MY RESULTS and to AND TO UPDATE THOSE RESULTS EVERY 3 MONTHS
I wonder if there's any tube left to send out. XD If only I saw this earlier. Oh well, gonna try my luck. I repasted with ICD7 several months ago but the temps seem to be going higher and higher. Wonder what I did wrong. -
Thanks for taking the time to speak with me today about your product. Per our conversation I have registered on the forums (after lurking for years)!
Looking forward to testing your product!
ON MY HONOR IN EXCHANGE FOR FREE COMPOUND I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR TO TEST AND POST MY RESULTS AND TO UPDATE THOSE RESULTS EVERY 3 MONTHS -
You need 50+ posts to beg for an ICD.

So where in the US can you get this stuff at a good price.... I can only find ic 9 and the random amazon sellers want like 30-40 bucks for this stuff.... My friend wants a tube after i redid his home server
-
I read the rules! I figured the guy who made them up might have a warm heart since I live in Hawaii, and everyone loves Hawaii!
But thanks for saying that, you gave me a compelling reason to resspond, helping my post count increase by +1! Inching ever closer to the qualifier! Man, I need to keep reading, surely there are 45 more threads I can reply to before the OP checks that I meet minimum eligibility requirements! (Fingers crossed!) -

dam718 qualifies as per our phone conversation today I made an exception due to a nasty compound failure he experienced after one year...

38 so far on the spreadsheet - more tubes available
-
After I get my tube in the mail tomorrow, I'll make sure to post info to get the free tube. Might as well do my brother's laptop as well (assuming I can get to the GPU, haven't seen the inside of his Y570 yet.
What benchmarks are required for Option 2? -

Well after trying what feels like a million times i cant get the rest of the numbers on my test i made over a yr and a half ago since i cant keep my ambient temps in my room at 75c for the duration of my tests. I hope the numbers i posted earlier are enough for your data (thankfully they are probably the more important numbers anyway)
overall paste has held up real well -

Never received a confirmation e-mail either and i still gt my tube. Good thing, i'll need it for the week-end.

Mine arrived yesterday (8 days after I posted), all I did was post here and send an email with my info. BrendenMurphy yours is probably held up due to the strike or something.
I will repaste and post my temps and soon as Dell swaps my laptop out, no point in repasting a computer going straight back to Dell, but it should hopefully be less than a week. I will create a Exel spreadsheet and track it with that.
Thanks a bunch IC Diamond! Do you have any prefered measurements you would like, or are you just concerned about changes over time?
I was thinking of running furmark for 10 minutes to reach max temp, measure GPU and ambient and post that. Probably will use OCCT for the CPU. -
IC Diamond Company Representative
Just the changes over time - use the same benching programs so the results are comparable
Note ambient temps - we subtract ambient from the measured temperature to get the temp rise above ambient - normalizes the data so it is all on the same footing -

Well, thanks to a few misadventures i ended up having to repaste the GPu. I won't go into the details, but at some point i thought my laptop was completely dead. It's back on now though i still don't know what caused it not to power on as it should have. In any case, i'm here with a batch of fresh results tom compensate. I lost a point of data, but it's only a bump in the road, i'll still be posting regular updates in this thread. I'll post text results instead of pics, but i still have the screenshots if someone whats them for some reason.
Ambient today was oscillating between 21.5C and 22C thanks to the AC. It also means that i'll be able to do the testing at the same ambient temps for the duration of the survey.
GPU - 10 minutes in furmark:
TS0:79.5C
TS1:83.0C
TS2:81.0C
CPU - wPrime 1024 bench 436s to completion
core0:72C
core1:71C
core2:71C
core4:73C
I should add that the temps are almost identical between two ICD repaste, same application method. This goodness will also go into my future desktop it seemsand in a friend's laptop that is currently overheating.

On vacation right now, so im guessing with my luck the thermal compound will reach my post office while im gone. D:
I did attach my NBR username when i sendt my mail including my postal adresse but being overseas does increase shipping time.
But if anyone at IC Diamond could check if the paste was shipped that would be great. -
Here's mine:
System Idle:
CPU at Load (Prime95, Full Fans):
Gaming Load (Bad Company 2 - 30 minutes - 32 man server, Full Fans)
-
Those are good temps Htwingnut!
-
Ambient 26 degrees C
Idle = 10-15 minutes browsing the internet
Load = 30 minutes of Crysis 2 gameplay
After ~20 hrs since applying ICD. The before application temperatures can be ignored because I did a copper mod to my laptop along with adding ICD.
Ambient is still 26 degrees C.
