Can you feel the raw POWER. I lol'd in real life. My graphics card isn't even listed on most bench tables (25fps in quake1. Or less. Chokes on quake 2). I think I might be able to sell it on ebay for 200$, assuming I paid someone to take it. Despite the increadibly low stats, the battery power lasts less than an hour playing a DVD, let alone using the intense beast of a graphics card on such bleeding-edge games as Baldurs Gate and Mavis Beacon Chokes a B---h. The horrid part is I am an avid gamer.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel for me, however, and I'm currently awaiting (impatiently) for the following to arrive:
    Core 2 Duo T7400 2.13 ghz
    Geforce Go 7950GTX (unf!)
    2024mb PC 5300 DDR2 ram
17" ClearView Glossy 1680x1050 widescreen display
    100gb 7200 ATA150 HD
    8x Supermulti DVD drive
Wifi Wireless Intel 3945 802.11a/b/g Wireless Card and Bluetooth
Bunch of other additionals, a little over 2800$ from vigorgamingpc.

****ed thing can't come fast enough. I haven't even played half-life 2 yet. I'll get a desktop some years from now when I'm off deployment overseas.

    hah! beat you all!

centrino duo 1.73 ghz to the 2m on ac

    1:09

when I run two simultaneously they get around 1:28 (dual core ftw!)

    On my home pc (1.0ghz athlon/duron) I get 14:00

my other computer (dual core athlon 64 2.4ghz) 1:35 which is weird because everything is noticeably faster than my centrino (same ram)

I also use normal startup, with Norton Internet Security 2007.

I'm sure without NIS 2007, it'd be faster, but with it, I'm 100% comfortable surfing the net and downloading whatever I want.

I tested all 3 of my machines. 2 desktops and lastly my laptop.

    1st.
    AMD Duron 700MHz
    640Mb Ram DIMM, not DDR
    8Mb Graphis Card
    100Gb Hd
This machine was much faster before switching from ME to 2000Pro
    Pi to 2M in 6min 10sec

    2nd.
    AMD Athlon XP 2800+ @ 2.09Ghz
    1Gig DDR
    370Gig HD
    64Mb Graphics Card
Pi to 2M in 1min 51 Sec in normal daily configuration.

    3rd.
    Dell 6400 (laptop)
    Specs below in my signature.

Pi to 2M on AC Power in 1min 3 sec
Pi to 2M on Batt "High Performance" as well as "Balanced" modes 1 min 3 sec
Pi to 2m on Batt "Power saver" mode was 1min 56sec.

Ive got a quick question...when running this check, my prosessor shows 50% usage. Is this normal for this peticular test or is there some setting I can adjust?

Why the hell am i getting 1:30 now with my t5600 1.83 C2D?

i tested it once yesterday and it was almost 2 minutes! i had rmclock open on that run, but only to see the temp, thats all i use it for.

I've only had my DV6000t for a couple months, and my best time is 1:17. it would always fluctuate between 1:17 and like 1:23.

i have reinstalled windows xp pro on this this thing at least a good 6 times, i have been having hard drive dramas. nothing bad, just messing around with 2 different drives.

Anyone have any ideas? when i got my 1:17 time, i didnt have mcaffe installed, but i do now. also, i've never installed any hotfix or anything for the C2D.
Mcaffe and HDtune are the only startup programs i have, for a whopping 22 total startup processes.

    Can someone help please?

    *EDIT*
Now that i think about it, when i got 1:17, i had my 7200 rpm drive in. now i have a 5400 in there.

Does the hard drive have any bearing on the test results?

Mine came to 1 min 28sec w/power and 1 min 29 sec w/battery (specs given in my sig)

i dont think super PI uses ram much bcoz i tried to capture my 1GB ram performance and it didnt even seem to notice.. but my C2D did take notice of super pi running.. the core performance % were moving up and down (Core 1: 65% to 84% and Core 2, 30% to 40%.. this is a very crude measurement and u dont want to know how i did it)

they were <10% when the machine was not running super pi..

But on battery (i was on power saving mode) the cores initially touched 100% till Loop 5.. after that they slowed down slightly to the ranges of 60-80.. I am not sure why so..

i believe it does.. swapping and storing of data is taking place during this test and hence ur pi-score will depend on ur HDD..

But u can not decide that just by ur HDD rpm as well, as u know..

experts correct me if m wrong..

    mine acer aspire 5100 (Turion 64x2 TL50 1.6Ghz, 2G DDR2-533, 120G 4200rpm hd)

2M: 2 min 07 sec (maximum CPU speed)

    My desktop with a A64 x2 3800+ runs about 1 min 46s

Don't understand why amd is so much slower in super-pi when it doesn't feel slow anyway.

My previous best on here was 3 min. 14 sec. with my HP dv1207us. 1.3 G celeron M. I recently did a fresh install and got it down to 2 min 58 sec. I then upgraded my cpu to a 1.6 G pentium M and got a 2 min. 18 sec. I'm happy. I payed $40 and some time and dropped almost a second off my Super Pi score!

Update number 3, I replaced my motherboard with a 915 chipset, 533bus and overcloaked my 1.6G Pentium M from 1.6G to 2.1G. New super PI score is 1 min. 44sec.
