+rep. i'm so happy newegg understands us.
-
i must be missing something...
-
woah sorry guys i was misunderstood i guess.
people usually say "GO" when they want something. i thought it was pretty common as i see it all the time on other forums.
sorry. that info is in no way correct, just what i want. -
haha we're pretty literal here...
-
-
I totally don't understand the last 7 post above me.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Yeah i'm lost to. i feel dumb
-
Just forget them they are not really useful ...
-
LOL just disregard the last few posts. The drive is still not available, that's all we have to know.
-
Great...for a second I thought Newegg had the external version lol...
-
Man, just lock this thread and open a new one when it finally comes out, k? I check it every time there's a new post, and the last 150 posts have been BS.
It's annoying... just ask the guy or gal who's checking it because of this post. -
I agree, this thread is haunting me...
Ncix US have it for 139.50.
no ETA. -
Someone should tell a mod. -
my supplier in australia is now reporting 2nd of feb as well. but it's been an ever shifting process where deadlines have moved months and and now just 7 days extra... on retailer said it's because of huge demand, but he's puffin muffins. it's cause seagate are clearly having supply problems and judging by recent reports, are likely related to quality control.
-
my shop keeps tellin me that it will be available on the 30th. I have it on order.
we'll see -
-
I have called the shop right now they confirmed that tomorrow they will have the first batch in stock. wow!
-
-
Yea, let the drive come out first and than delete this whole thread...Until then, I don't see the harm in discussing the release dates and ranting!
Agreed? -
I admit I havent read all the 38 pages here but as an ignorant of the matter, may I ask what kind of performance boost do you expect from this drive?
It will be in the order of what % compared to 500GB 5400RPM drives??? -
well, it should be only slightly better than 5400rpm, since both are 2 platter.
Ultimately, we will have to wait till it starts selling. -
My guess is <33.3333333% faster just going off the rpm diff and assuming and can't possibly be a direct correlation... but hey i don't know a whole lot about HDDs so i'm polly way off base

wow,
did you see his HDTACH benchmark,
it breaks 100mb/sec, and averages just over 83mb/sec
pretty impressive
awesome stuff one4spl
K-TRON -
Thanks one4spl
Do you mind run HD Tune and post the results?
Thank you so so much for the quick benchmarks.
Ch28Kid -
can you give us an overall impression of the speed compared with your last harddrive and maybe the acoustics of it
-
yeh all i care about is the acoustics. i want a near silent drive and if this thing is quiet as can be, i'll order right away.
-
I prefer my hard drives to be loud and crunchy
