I think that means designed/made by Eurocom but I'm not sure. They should be compatible with p370em

I assume that is going to mean that it won't fit the proper mxm 3b spec and instead have different length and/or width

I’m still waiting to find a good price for a m18x R2 to test these GTX 980s.

Yeah, I saw that. I’m trying to get just the barebone with a cpu. I message the seller to see if he will go that route for me. Hopefully he do and I can start on this project. I already have an idea for the cooling for the gtx 980s.

They are pretty close in size when I stacked them on top of each other. I’ll take some pictures when I get home later this evening so you can see.

Also The MSI GTX 980s comes with a detachable VRAM HS.

Took a couple of days, a dozen disassemblys and direct to chip vbios flashes, even more driver installations and restarts but I FINALLY got my 1070s working properly with the internal display (eDP 120hz 1080p, same as the 3D model of P370EM) and it's now like a proper laptop.

MSI 1060 is 100% working in P7XXZM. ( only EDP models)
MSI 1070 is also 100% working in P7XXDM ( M2 removed and capacitors changed to flat type)

More preferable If the M.2 could be shifted on a riser or something.

if an M.2 riser board could be created that moves the socket to the other end and overlaps the 1070's tab. it would mean the stick would be held with clips instead of a screw at the end.

Can the clevo p751zm take anything other than a 980m?

I noticed the p750zm was upgradeable to the 1070, but I imagine there are differences between the models. Does anyone know?

    Thanks

    what about that p3000 for a p750dm?

    @sicily428
What is the exact name and shape/form factor of the GTX 1070 that is used in the MSI GT73VR, and why is it differently aligned than the GTX 1080 used in the exact same system? Why is the heatsink and VRM's slightly offset, which require a different heatsink? Is this "MXM 3.0" format for the Gt73VR GTX 1080, vs MXM 3.0b for the GTX 1070? Because I have never seen a GTX 1080 using the exact same aligned chip and VRMs' as the GTX 1070. The GTX 1080 also requires an auxiliary power connector. I think this should be made very clear in a concise and easy to follow explanation and showing exactly what is available, mainly due to the cost involved. No one wants to throw $1,000 on a GPU that won't fit their current heatsink and VRMsink....

P5000 for M6700 is not repeatable even by the author himself, that is a very rare ES card and the author has sold it off and now jumping because there is no other card that can make this miracle (so far). Other ES cards did not work.

P5000 for M6800 is the similar case. No retailed card will work.

    Apply to P3000 & P4000

Retailed P5000 can work in Alienware with ES vbios. BSOD if using original vbios but the error message is different from M6x00.
Clevo has better compatibility compared to precision, it is not surprise if it work. I was told Quadro card does not support G-Sync on Clevo too.

Doesnt support Clevo Pascal cards as well.

First page says P70/P71 thinkpad, I know it has mxm, but can it accept another mxm card outside Lenovo?

Especially since there's the model with X-rite color calibrator built into the palmrest.
