    Fastest: Quadro P5000.
Most interesting by price/performance ratio: Tesla M6.

Also you can put Quadro M3000M, Quadro M4000M, Quadro M5000M, GTX 970M, GTX 980M, Quadro P4000.

I belive we can also use the Quadro RTX mxm lineup from HP, the RTX3000 was working perfectly fine on the M6700

Thats actually pretty cool. Any info on whether it's gotta be like a lvds display vs a eDP? I am so conflicted on what to buy. Elitebook 8770w or the dell m6700 or the m6800 LOL. Ivy bridge to haswell was like a side grade and cpu wise they;re basically the same. I just want the one thats gonna give me the most flexible upgrade options. Namely, the GPU

    Oh, Ok.
HP version of RTX3000/4000/5000 have non-standard GPU placement, so you will need to modify heatsink.
ADlink RTX 3000 have standard MXM 3.0 GPU placement, so you can use it plug and play, without any modifications.

EDP, if you want RTX3000 output directly to internal display. (Cause since 10xx series nVIDIA removed LVDS support for all GPU's (Analog video output).
EDP/LVDS, if you will have Optimus enabled.

I don't think it's plug and play at all, these laptop require special vbios to work as we saw for the P3000/P4000/P5000, however the RTX mxm lineup from HP does have a working vbios for the M6700/6800, I believe it's pretty unlikely the ADlink would work without flashing the HP vbios.

Hmmm. Maybe ill just stick to getting a gtx 980m. That should probably be enough for my mobile video editing needs as it's not something I am really using for gaming.

Stick to Tesla M6, not 980M.
Tesla costs around 120$, 980M - 280$. And to performance difference between Tesla M6 and 980M, cause they have same GPU.

I knew that Quadro P3000/P4000/P5000 need special engineering vBIOS to work in M6700/M6800, and P3200/P4200/P5200 doesn't have this special vBIOS, so they wouldn't work. Didn't knew about needing special vBIOS for RTX 3000, thank you.
Yep, but flashing vBIOS isn't smtg hard to do, just use CH341 =)

Oh thanks for that! I've never heard of the Tesla m6. Just looked it up. Looks like it goes for around 100-125$ on ebay. Question:: Whats the process to get it working? Do you just install the 980m drivers or is there special drivers?

Not everyone is confident/able to use such device, futhermore, a CH341A alone isn't enough, you also need it's 1.8v adapter.

Hey thanks for the suggestions! :) I think I’m gonna stick to the 980m. It’s come to my attention that the Tesla m6 does not allow for hdmi output. It’s only a good option if you don’t plan to use any external displays.

There is several post/thread about the P5000/P4000/P3000 running on the M6700, it just require a "special" vbios that can be found in those post/thread. I personnally used to run my M6700 with a 4k eDP display and a P4000 without issue
