lol
But I look at the price and feel better again, thats waaay too steep a cost for me to justify, plus I like having 15TB in my main machine. -
Maybe You should go for P870 anyway? Then you could add in even more Storage

Great, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive.
I want to sand off middle frame module, to give that small fins ontop heat pipes (on the left from main ones cooled by the fan) some breathing room, just like in original TM frame.
Did you modify it too? -
Yep, that's what we did back then on our P870DM3's.
Dremmeled (completely cut) the middle frame and CPU stand-offs to fit the TM CPU cooler and the top frame for the third M.2 port of the newer KM boards.Last edited: Jun 19, 2019 -
Can`t say anything about performance difference (didn`t compare them) but I doubt there is any.
As far as compatibility, clocks, states, temps and general operating everything is fine, 100% compatibility.

This probably has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find an answer to this question:
is the GTX 1080 currently the best GPU that can be modded into the P870DM? -
well, if youre able to mod the 1080 into the P870DM, then the 2080 should also be doable
-
How can download P870DM-G (6700K, 980M SLI) Mod BIOS ?
I don't know where to buy it. -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
You can't. This was a specialized version by @Prema as part of a proof of concept project by @Mr. Fox to get the P870DM-G singing nicely with a modern CPU and GPU. It isn't
available for download or general purchase.
You can always run Dsanke's TM FrankenBIOS which will enable CPU support for 6th through 9th series CPUs on your P870DM-G.Mr. Fox likes this. -

I'll be trying the registry hack on my rx 5700 xt too, might actually beat the rtx 2080 whilst being £150 cheaper!

Congrats brother
I expect you then will compare with an oc'd RTX 2080 and not a stock clocked

Can it complete a Firestrike or timespy test? Would be interested in seeing its graphics score

Nope, bought the components 3 days ago. Got the card for £380 and the CPU for £320. AMD prices are quite good compared to intel and nvidia, on top of that I managed to grab a decent gpu sample. I think the CPU is a literal potato as it needs crazy high vcore.... -

Sure, here it is: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/37708453

Quite a bit lower than 2080s no?

Remember the rtx 2080 has RT and tensor cores, this helps with it's score.
A better comparison would be the rx 5700 xt vs the gtx 1080 ti as show here compared to an average gtx 1080 ti score the rx 5700 xt is still slightly behind:

Please send me a TM board with the proper cooling and at least 3300MHz sticks
Thanks
At least I do it better than this with my old notebook and Z170. Crushed it with one point

You can beat Papusan if you have instant teleportation and borrow Pap's PC for quick benching and return it where it was w/o Pap's noticing it. Haha...tilleroftheearth, jaybee83 and Arrrrbol like this.

hahaha by "cant" i actually meant "its not acceptable that i am actually beating you" in a way of teasing him to do better

There was more than just BIOS for the P870DM-G. Did you do the hardmod to supply the 1080 with an additional 3.3V rail
-
I reviewed the guide and yes i I didn't do 3.3v rail.are there two different methods here?
1.methods green cable system 278-280 pin
2.methods 44pin 1.8v?Attached Files:

sorry @bennyg i understand 3.3v ray but last question is it 3.3v enough?
1.8V required? -
Hey guys, got 2 x 1080's in my P870KM1 i purchased from @DaMafiaGamer (what a great guy btw) I have modded my heatsink for the slave card with a 5mm shim and its making good contact. However what i have noticed is the slave card is drawing up to 200w which is increasing the temp by a fair margin whilst the master draws up to 180W so i am assuming both are on different vbios. Would anyone be so kind to give me some help around flashing the vbios's so they match at 180w?
Motherboard bios flashing not a problem, but i have never touched a vbios and want to
A: make sure i am flashing the right bios
B: make sure i do not brick anything by doing something wrong -
Yes there were, Khenglish tried getting the 3.3V from the MXM pins but soldering just the 3 fine pitch pins without bridges is difficult so he ended up getting it from nearby on the mobo instead.
And technically I was not quite correct, it's not a 3.3V rail it's a 3.3V enable on those pins (without which the vbios chip doesn't get power IIRC). -
Which of the following two images should I use? And which is easier and more accurate?
