Maybe the other device has trouble... Personally I strugled to conect with a sony erricson W8 (Android OS) but ok with other devices like pc , xperia x1 , ps3 bluetooth headset...

if its not for heavy gaming or super intensive tasks, id go for the i5. for 100$ its a great deal.
but if you want to future proof, you can always get the i7 and never look back.
thats what im doing
EDIT: for pricing you can just check out ebay. just makes sure you buy the right one. there are different levels of engineering samples for different price points. i ordered my i7 2820qm for 278$ but prices have sky rocketed over the last 2 weeks. i got the QS version. -
Drivers you can find it here (for 4530s Win7 HP 64bit):

Hey Shemmy,
Hows the Intel 320 working in your machine? any problems?
I was thinking about getting one too.
I saw your thread
http://forum.notebookreview.com/solid-state-drives-ssds-flash-storage/626362-ssd-hdd-advice.html
but figured since im asking in relation to the probook, thought I would keep it here. -
-
I said all that because instead of running an SSD/HDD combo, I'm actually running two SSDs. It's fast, quiet, cool, and energy-efficient. One SSD is for the OS, apps, and VMs. The other is for documents and media. I have no idea what to use the expresscard SSD for right now, but I'm sure I'll be able to Frankenstein something.
Boot times are quick, and sleep s damn quick. I'll try to remember to time boot later and post the results.
For the money and reliability, the 320 series is a good bet.
My specs are as follows: 8GB G. Skill RAM (I have 2GB set aside as a RAM disk that houses the system and user temp files), one 80GB SSD as a system disk and the second 80GB SSD for documents and media. I have UEFI boot enabled, along with the quickboot (fastboot?) setting (which only checks HD and PXE when booting) and have set nogui boot in Windows. I love it!
16.832 seconds boot!!!Attached Files:

that is awesome! ok, youve made your case, im pulling the trigger -
I want to install it myself along with a SSD boot drive, but I'm scared I'm gonna mess up
I don't know where to get it professionally done though. -
On my probook 4430s the usb 3.0 port doesn't recognize my new Toshiba Canvio 500gb usb 3.0 hdd.
When I plug it into any of the other usb 2.0 ports it shows up in my computer but gives the message that it would perform faster in a usb 3 port. But in the usb 3 port it is not recognized. The hdd light is on and I've updated drives.
Any suggestions? -
-
Thanks VA1, but that didn't work. Still doesn't see hdd on usb 3 port.
-
By installing basic drivers needed and no additional bloatware whatsoever you can boot even lesser in time.
I will grab one for my gaming rig to put os on it along with my caviar black as storage... -
Anyone have an application like the WebCam Companion 3. I accidently removed it from my laptop and haven't found a replacement. I downloaded the WebCam Companion 4 but it was only a trial.
Any suggestions? -
Hi!
I have a 4330s notebook. And i have a lot of problems with it. The most important is happened after i updated bios to F.20. Now i can't send the machine to sleep mode (win7 64 bit), because the screen turning to black and no response. Only i hear the fan running and the power and other led lights. The hard reset is the only option i have. The other thing is when the machine waking up from the hibernation state. I can't set the screen brightness anymore and need to reboot the machine if i want to. I think there is no option to downgrade the bios.Oh another problem is the high pitched sound i think coming from the cpu, when i'm using the machine with the battery. This is not a big problem for me though. But the others are very confusing and annoying. Thanks for any help.
(sorry for my bad english) -
I have a HP ProBook 4530s XU015UT#ABA. Could some help me identify what is bloatware and what is not? I am talking about all that stuff that came pre-installed. Thank you.
-
Have you tried HP's support site?

Sounds similar to the problem I discussed earlier in this thread. HP had to replace my motherboard to fix it. -
Hey guys! I would really love any help I can get about a problem I've been having with my probook 4530s. Ever since I replaced my optical drive with an extra hard drive, my windows never really shuts down. It will do the full shutdown, but once the hard drive light stops blinking the wifi and power button light and fan will all remain on. I must manually hold down my power button for 3 seconds for it to turn off. I don't know what the problem is. I would appreciate all help. Thanks guys!
-
Hey
My laptop does this in OS X sometimes, the power light stays on for a good 10 seconds before shutting off. Give it more time?
Guys, does ANYONE have a backlit keyboard for this laptop?
If so, where is it from? -
-
It is caused by the latest HP power assistant Update. Uninstall the latest and use the previous one. It worked for me. -
Anyone know of a tweak/program that reverses the top row keys. It would be nice to be able to just press the brightness and volume keys directly without having to press the FN key.

For all the SSD and SSD/HDD combo upgraders, is the 4430s sata 3 capable?
I am deciding between intel's 320 or 510. -
I think just sata 2

Shemmy, you have a 4430s. Can you confirm? -
I checked using SiSandra, and the 4430s does support SATA III. Now I feel bad for getting the 320 instead of the 510 (although I only spent $120 on the 80GB model).
-
Thank you for finding that out.
Even though it is Sata III compatible, I'm still a bigger fan of the 320 than the 510. -
hello. My Girlfriend recently buy one hp 4330s.Very nice laptop. With i3 and HD 3000 gpu but it has only 2 gigs of ram.For her it is super, but when i use it it feel kind of slow.I want to make some upgrade.SSD and more ram.Does hyperX 1866 ram will be good for that laptop,i read that hd 3000 benefits very well with this set.And for ssd i will by one 128 gigs M4.I want to put teh hdd in the dvd bay.but i dont know wich caddy to use.Any sugestions.Thanks.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
To answer the first question, hyperX 1866 is not going to be fully used. SiSoft Sanda shows the max for the 4430s as being 1333. Also, if you're going to us an OBHD caddy, why get such a large SSD? My 80GB Intel is quite roomy, and I have a 320GB WD Scorpio Blue in the OBHD caddy.
Also, one other thing, if the factory disk was a Momentus Thin, it's not going to be secure in the caddy. That's why I'm using the WD out of my wife's netbook (I gave her an SSD also). -
-
i want to instal M4 64 gb,but i always left 4-5 gb unlocated, and the fact that 64 is not full 64,push me to go with 128 gb.
.And shame for the hyperx

If I had the $$ I'd try. =(

Skimming, but I can say on tonymacx86 there are people who have in fact used 16 gigs of RAM.

I was looking at 16GB kits on newegg last night and saw one person leave a review for the Corsair kit in which they said they had a 4530s that was able to recognize and use the 16GB kit. If only I had a spare $170...
-
16gb would be awesome!
-
Just out of curiosity, not a flame, what are you all running on these machines that can truly take advantage of 16gb of RAM? Games? Video processing?

I'm new to this thread and site. I'm no techie so i may be asking questions one i receive my order this week on setting up the laptop and installing the RAM. Any suggestions as to how to improve this laptop straight out of the box? And should I install the RAM chip before or after I boot the laptop for the first time and install Windows?
Thanks in advance and hello again!

Did anyone else get the HP 4530s from CompUSA when they had the email deal for 699.oo? (mine was dated 1/3/2012).
I bought it and it turns out that the unit does not have the advertised USB 3.o port, I have printed the ad and the email and I am going to write CompUSA corporate tomorrow and see what they say about this, but I have a feeling that I might have to file in small claims to get any resolution.
I was wondering if anyone can find the specs for the exact model on HP's web page, I could not. I would love to get a class-action suit going over this, as it is clear that many of the models sold were advertised as having USB 3.o and DO NOT have it. -
My advice is to double check that all ports are 2.0 because on most of ours the port is indistinguishable. You have to go through device manager and do speed tests.
Else, return it and buy one in store if possible so you know exactly what you are getting right then and there. -
-
Do any of you have crucial m4.If yes can you post some bench

edit: i just did a search for the 4530s on tigerdirect and they have the i5 variant for 699 and the i3 for 429
just a thought if you want the on board usb3, maybe try to order the one with the newer i3 or i5 processor cause i think there was a blip in the usb 3 production. for ex. i3-2330m or the i5-2430 -

I know some 4530s owner's were affected by this, so here's a fix:
