If you haven't already, you'll also need to install the driver for the HP Quick Launch so that the IR receiver would recognize the commands from the remote.

Hi, i have another problem here with my cq35-109tu..
I tried to install the "bluetooth integrated module 2.0 with wireless technology" driver from compaq site, and nothing problem in my device manager (all device driver installed properly) until i try connect my mobile phone with my notebook. The explorer.exe always crash and requesting restart.. And still i can't connect that both device.
I downloaded the HP Integrated Bluetooth Module from this forum (in 1st page of this thread), and yess, i can connect my phone to my laptop..
The problem is, when i check again my device manager, other bluetooth device is installed properly but there's a warning with 2 bluetooth peripheral device.. I don't know what the devices is..

Based on product specifications, the CQ35-109tu does not appear to have built-in Bluetooth functionality. Do not install the HP Bluetooth Integrated Module driver if the notebook does not have internal Bluetooth.

In the very unlikely event that your laptop does have a Bluetooth module built-in, try repairing the driver installation by launching the driver installer setup program again.

Im CQ35-109TU user, and it does have a built in bluetooth module, and its working fine. Justin is right, try repairing the installer, uninstall it first, then be sure to turn-on the wifi button (its also the on/off button of the bluetooth) before you install the bluetooth driver.

Have you also checked to see if additional software is required for your Nokia phone? Looking at the Nokia website for this phone, that unknown device you're seeing may be a modem driver or something else that Nokia may be able to fix.

    Hi!

I have just made a clean install with windows 7 ultimate 64bit on my new HP Pavilion dv3-2299eo ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...y&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=4040058), and install all the drivers i need in this thread without any problems.

But when I do a scan with driver-robot it sais that I have three critical updates. I don't care about the keyboard but why do I have two old drivers in my system device?

Thank dynamius -- I'll post these up when I can.

My busy schedule has led me to be rather slow with the updates, but here are some that I made to the original post:

    01/29/2010
    • Updated IDT High Definition Audio driver to version 6.10.6255.0.
    • Updated Broadcom Wireless LAN driver to version 5.60.48.18.
    • Updated Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader driver to version 6.1.7600.30111.
    • Updated Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller driver to version 6.230 for Windows Vista.

If you are having problems with the Intel Turbo Boost driver, please uninstall it and wait for the next available release (which will hopefully fix the issues).

I believe your Realtek Ethernet adapter is Gigabit, but you're just going at 100Mbps due to your Ethernet cable or other networking hardware (this is normal). You should still be able to install the Realtek driver that is posted. :)

Note that Gigabit is the highest designation, but it can certainly operate at the lower speeds/standards as well.

actually, out of the box, my ethernet port was always listed as the realtek 8102...which i thought was strange. i have installed the latest "realtek PCIe family" driver, but it still only runs at 100mbps...

    i am open to suggestions!

i upgraded to windows 7 a few weeks ago and it has been running smoothly up until this past week. one time i just left it on overnight and when i got home from work the next day it was at the login screen - i checked all logs on the event viewer and it appears to have spontaneously rebooted itself. since then i have noticed problems shutting down. when i shut it down, it stays on the "shutting down" screen for prolonged period of time.

I think what I want to do is reinstall all the win7 drivers. does anyone know what is the best order to install these:
intel chipset & graphics drivers for 4500MHD
    ethernet
    wifi
    rapid storage, protectsmart
    integrated bluetooth
    audio
    etc.

Well, it's really no matter which is the first. But if you like, install the chipset driver first as it's the basic driver. And please note that when you install the integrated bluetooth, keep the bluetooth function open. However, good luck! :D

my friend has a dv3-2155mx. i installed win7 64bit and used all the drivers including latest BIOS and QuickLaunch drivers from the HP support page for the unit.

everything is in order except the brightness controls (keyboard + Win7 controls) are not working. anybody experienced the same problem?

will using the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (HD) driver here solve our problem? of course, i will also try when i get my hands on the laptop again.

    [edit] also:

i don't think i installed something like "Intel Chipset Device Software" before, will there be a problem if I install it after all the other drivers are already installed or is it better to re-install the other drivers after again.

Even though it's my birthday today, I'm still hard at work finding new drivers around the Internet for you guys. :)

NOTE: This new Realtek Ethernet driver that I just posted does NOT originate from Realtek, but from ASUS (which is rather surprising). See the Important Information section for this component on how you should proceed to install these drivers, since packages from ASUS are set up differently. :)

    02/18/2010
    • Updated LightScribe System Software to version 1.18.11.1.

    02/22/2010
    • Updated Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller driver to version 6.233 for Windows Vista and version 7.015 for Windows 7.

Thanks ptmails, as you can see I already updated the post. :)

You won't have to reinstall all the other drivers if you launch the Intel Chipset Device Software.

Not sure about this one -- I do hope a new release is available soon though because the current one has been around for a while now.

It's working here. Be sure you install the drivers for the Validity Sensor first. You probably need to reboot afterward. After that's done, install the Digital Persona fingerprint software (be sure it's version 4.11+) and it should detect your fingerprint reader. The important thing is to install the sensor driver first, then the software after the driver is in place.

(This is a response to a private message. I'm posting my reply here so that the information is available to anyone else who may be having the same issue.)

My fingerprint reader is listed as VF301 with the following hardware IDs:

    USB\VID_138A&PID_0005&REV_0<90
    USB\VID_138A&PID_0005

I have a dv3t-2000 CTO with components equivalent to the dv3-2200 series. I have a feeling the newer dv3-2300 series, which aren't sold in the US, have slightly different components incompatible with the dv3-2000 to dv3-2200 series models, which is probably why I find a lot of the newer drivers posted have compatibility issues. I'm currently using the Validity driver (sp45208, package 3.1.366 REV: A, driver version 2.1.0.2) currently posted on HP's website found here:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3919621&os=4063&lang=en

    HTML: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45208.html
    CVA: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45208.cva

I noticed that the Validity driver posted on the first page of this thread has a different hardware ID (USB\VID_138A&PID_0001 vs. USB\VID_138A&PID_0005). That might be cause of your problem. I haven't tried using the driver posted on the first page yet (and probably won't) since it works flawlessly as it is right now so I can't be sure of it, but it's worth a shot.

I would try uninstalling the current driver you're using and try this one. Right click the Validity Sensor in Device Manager and select Uninstall. Be sure to check "Delete the driver software for this device" when the confirmation box appears. Also, be sure the Digital Persona software is also uninstalled. Reboot, then install this driver. After you install the new driver, reboot again, then try installing the Digital Persona software and see if it detects your fingerprint reader.

Generally, I find the drivers on HP's dv3 Win7 64-bit drivers page work well with the exception of the Intel graphics drivers they have posted as they cause the display brightness controls to not work.

At any rate, hopefully this will resolve the detection issues. Feel free to PM me if the problem remains unresolved.

First off, thanks for answering my 2nd question. As for my 1st question:

I used Intel driver detection facility in their site and asked me to download and install a newer version of the graphics driver from Intel.

After installation, the brightness controls are now working OK :D

Here are some of the updates that I made to the first post within the last few days. I removed the Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver for the time being because most people aren't able to get it working for some reason -- it may be reposted in the future when the issues get resolved.

    03/04/2010
    • Renamed "NVIDIA GeForce 9200M series, NVIDIA GeForce G 103M, and NVIDIA GeForce G 105M" to "NVIDIA GeForce 9200M / G 103M / G 105M."
    • Updated NVIDIA GeForce 9200M / G 103M / G 105M driver to version 188.17 (8.16.11.8817).
    • Removed Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver.

    03/05/2010
    • Updated HP Quick Launch Buttons to version 6.50.15.1.
    • Updated HP MediaSmart SmartMenu to version 2.1.13 for Windows Vista.

    • Updated HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection driver to version 4.0.6.1 (thanks Axel Foley).

Windows 7 users: I recommend installing the most recent Application Compatibility Update that Microsoft had posted. Apparently it enables additional application functionality for HP MediaSmart. You can grab the update from Microsoft Update or you can manually download the update using the links below.

All right everyone -- due to my busy schedule consisting of studying, sleeping, and final exams, the next update will be this weekend.

I'm aware of the following new drivers, including those that hyunf and lovegl had mentioned:

    • HP MediaSmart Live TV, version 3.1.2206
    • HP MediaSmart DVD, version 3.1.3719
    • HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology, version 6.2.1.1100
    • Synaptics TouchPad, version 15.0.9.0
    • Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet drivers

If you find any other drivers that I may have missed, please mention them here.

    • Updated HP Integrated Bluetooth Module driver to version 6.2.1.1100.

    03/22/2010
    • Updated Broadcom Wireless LAN driver to version 5.60.48.35.
    • Updated MediaSmart Music/Video/Picture to version 3.1.3615 (3.1 C2).

Please note that I will not be putting up the ATI Radeon graphics driver 8.712.0.0 (Catalyst 10.3) up immediately; this is due to the fact that it does not have a complete Catalyst Control Center feature set and that it does not include the HDMI Audio driver.

    • Updated Intel Rapid Storage Technology (SATA AHCI) driver to version 9.6.0.1014.

I also noticed that there are some new Validity Fingerprint Reader drivers and packages designated on HP's FTP for the dv3 and CQ35/CQ36 (SP47797, SP47801), but they have the same version as the one already posted -- is the current package that I have posted working or do I need to update the links? :)

I haven't seen any Rapid Storage Technology v9.6.0.1023 drivers at any of the official sources -- the ones I just posted were posted by Intel only a few days ago. :) Do you have a link for the new version?
