You supposed to have a fingerprint in the upper Left corner?
-
-
That's the icon for "Biometric Devices" using the new API introduced with Windows 7.
Nah, the bug is that it should have deactivated font anti-aliasing (since would be the correct thing to do for screenshots) but did so only for the "Driver Details" button (presumably because it had the focus). -
HP 3D DriveGuard driver version is incorrect. It should be 4.1.3.1.
-
4.1.4.1 is the version number displayed in the about window of the control application.
-
Why attempt installing it if DV8t wasn't supported? Perhaps, hadn't you checked for that until the install "hung"?:rolleyes2:

New Intel WiFi driver for Windows 7 users. Software is not included in this package released by HP.
03/29/2011
- Removed Validity Fingerprint Reader driver version 4.3.110.0.
- Updated Intel WiFi Link driver to version 14.0.2.2 for Windows 7.
I had removed version 4.3.110.0 of the Validity Fingerprint Reader driver. Apparently, this package is not natively meant for the readers used in these notebook models. As a result, the driver failed to install during setup (as you guys had observed). Also, I realized that the drivers being loaded for the VFS201 and VFS300 readers are not actually WHQL Certified -- only the newer VFS471 and VFS5XXX readers are WHQL Certified in this package. -
Not for "Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN".
-
Device Manager and accelerometer.inf shows 4.1.3.1.

Nvidia 270.51 beta for notebooks released today.
NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.51 BETA -
I got an install error when I installed this... however it seemed to install per device manager.
Installed a second time and got no prompt at all at the end of the install? -
Sorry guys - didn't realize that the Intel WiFi Link 5100 and 5300 adapters were not supported in version 14.0.2.2 (at least, according to the Windows 7 INF). As a result, I removed it from the first post just to be safe.
Using the interactive setup wizard, the installation is considered a success when the progress logo goes away -- there is no prompt at the end.
04/02/2011
- Removed Intel WiFi Link driver version 14.0.2.2.
I will currently be using this driver though, since it has successfully installed using the 6300 adapter. -
Current Realtek LAN driver versions are Windows 7 7.041 and Vista 6.247
-
I've been using 14.0.2.2 with my 6200 (i think that's the number) adapter and it's working fine. Also using the newer Validity sensor drivers and they are working better than the old ones for me. Updated Rapid Storage w.o issue but haven't tried updating the Chipset drivers.

Firefox 4 and IE9 HP SimplePass Identity Protection compatibility.
EGIS TEC Inc. the original developer of the HP Digital Persona software has released an updated software that is fully compatible with the new generation of browsers (I haven't tested it in Chrome 10).
Now we can finally say goodbye to DIGITAL PESONA that has abandoned the develop of the Digital Persona Personal Fingerprint software with the only motivation to focus its business in the professional market!!!!
HP Simple Pass 7.0.74.0:
http://www.egistec.com/websitedownload/patch/bioexcess/HPSimPlePass7.0.74.0.zip -
Awesome!.. when someone gets in the mood to be a guinea pig and test it please let us know!
I currently don't have the 4.0 browser or chrome installed so can't test it without doing so and I don't have time at the present to mess with it if something goes wrong.
If someone does test it, please indicate whether you are using the 32bit verses the 64bit version of the browser when reporting back.
When trying to look up the file on their site I'm not having much luck... "did searches for HPSimPlePass7.0.74.0, hp simple pass, hpsimplepass etc"... no luck.
I would like to read the specs on it before installing it.
No disrespect "ETOSOFT"... but this is your very first post.... so I'm asking questions... hope you aren't offended.
Seems all the software I saw cost something.. so I'm not sure what this is?....unless its a trial version in the above link in the prior post?
Until I know more I will wait to jump in. -
It works fine for me on FF4.0.1 32-Bit and IE9 32-Bit. Doesn't work with IE9 64-Bit! Had installed it on my HDX16-1060EG with a VFS-201 Fingerprintreader.

Not all features are working yet for me. I'm not getting the little icon that allows you to add passwords when you are on a new login page or opening an app that is password protected. I suspect there is a configuration problem with my particular machine. I probably need to uninstall everything related to the FP reader and reinstall the driver and the new HP Simple Pass app. It appears to be the same version as what came pre-installed on a new Pavilion DM 4 my wife received this past week. At least it looks the same.
Edit: Couldn't get it to accept any passwords besides windows logon so went back to previous version for now that at least can use the FP reader to launch password protected applications. Guess I'll have to wait for a future update that hopefully will work better for my machine. -
The feature is there in the newer Simplepass.
However, it is a premium addon (it cost extra to enable). Usability is pretty limited too. -
I have little motivation for using it unless it works with a 64bit browser.
-
Well both the old and the new Simplepass works on IE9 x64
-
I have HP SimplePass 5.10.175a. Can I restore the backed up logins in version 7.0.74.0?
-
Most likely not ... they have different encryption and vendor.
Your current version is from DigitialPersona, and that version is from EgisTec (AuthenTec subsidiary?) -
Ok...Thanks...
-
The new Simplepass works on Firefox4 32bit for me at least
and I have the VFS201. It also works with Windows login no prob -

Finally had the time to put these updates up:
05/08/2011
- Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 15.2.8.0.
- Updated Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth driver to version 6.3.0.8200.
- Updated IDT High Definition Audio driver to version 6.10.6327.0.
I have tried this driver and it is working; however, it is not WHQL certified so some of you might want to hold off until a WHQL version is released. -

Windows tells me that the driver for VFS201 (which is also included in the package) is "Not digitally signed".
-
Correct, versions 4.3.118.0 and 4.3.124.0 are only WHQL certified for the VFS5101 fingerprint readers. They will not be posted in this thread as a result, since none of the notebooks here use the VFS5101.
I have a lot of updates to post, and I will try to get them up once I sort through them.
