    Hello All members,
I have a problem after installing new broadcom bluetooth driver 6.3.0.8200
every time I send a file i get the following error message: "Error copying file, the request could not be honored"
although completely removed (uninstalled) previous driver & installed the new driver with no errors
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
after trying different files it seems that the problem occurs with some file types like GIF & JPG & the problem disappear after changing file extension to any other unknown file type
Notebook model: HP Pavilion dv6 2106ea
    sending to NOKIA X6 16GB
have latest version of Broadcom driver & Nokia Ovi suite
    thanks z3tor

Hello and welcome to the forums. Do you see any error messages in Device Manager? If you are trying to send a file to a mobile phone, try to reinstall your phones PC suite. It might be easier to help if you coud provide us more information such as your computer model number, BT hardware ID, previous driver version and OS...

Well, i would have posted links to documentation if there was any available. The "proper link" you posted, contains only download links and Smart Response Technology user guide. No documentation about the driver itself.

I'm pretty happy he just reliably alerts us to the existence of updates and posts a link to the download. After all, no one is paying him to do this.

Heck I'm using a few of those HP and Intel drivers that Z3tor posted recently on a Dell XPS 15 L502x.

Looking at the INF, certain business notebooks are only supported in this version. This driver is not officially supported on the consumer models -- it must have actually loaded the INF's generic entry.

I will wait until a version that has the proper INF strings becomes available.

Will these work with SimplePass? I'm trying to get a configuration to work WITHOUT using DigitalPersona, so I can upgrade to Firefox 4 and Explorer 9. Right now I have both Validity Sensor (WBF) VFS201 version 4.3.34.0 and HP SimplePass 7.0.74.0 installed on my HDX18 and SimplePass won't recognize anything.

Although the Atheros Wlan 9.2.0.316 seems to install fine, driver wont update. So this driver does not support AR5009.

Sure. I uninstalled Validity Sensor (WBF) VFS201 version 4.3.34.0 from the Device Manager AND from "Add or Remove Programs". After restarting my computer I downloaded Validity Sensor (WBF) VFS201 version 4.3.118.0 from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52432.exe. For some reason, it didn't automatically update the driver in Device Manager. I had to manually point to the files by right clicking the "Unidentified Device", selecting "Update Driver Software", then "Browse my computer for driver software", then browse to C:\Program Files\Validity Sensors\Shared\Drivers. Keep in mind, at this point, I had already uninstalled DigitalPersona's crapware and installed HP Simple Pass (which works with both Firefox 4 and Explorer 9) from http://www.egistec.com/websitedownload/patch/bioexcess/HPSimPlePass7.0.74.0.zip. I then restarted my computer again and, Voilà! It worked!

Took another look at the netathrx.inf file and found out this line:
    ATHR.DeviceDesc.3096 = "Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi Adapter"

so i tried the "have disk" update method, but could not see that line again on the list where you choose devices... I picked "HP 802.11a/b/g Wireless Network Adapter" from the list and ignored the warning about driver not being compatible. Driver got updated and is working perfectly.

Thanks very much for the info. I will attempt to follow the process you set out here as soon as I get a chance and hopefully it will work for me as well. (Right now, my FP reader only works with the Windows PW and program passwords, not internet or FF4.)

A note of caution, Peter, as JVida referred to his hardware as VFS201. My DV8 reports that mine is a VFS301 and if yours is also a VFS301, it may warrant checking to be sure the driver also supports the VFS301.

    Regards,
    - - Phil

So, NBR is not posting updates anymore? Something happened? I hope everything's ok with him...

Z3tor, thanks for all your effort. It would be a good idea if you had control of the thread, so you could post everything at the front page, like NBR used to do. ;D

It works with other programs as well as with FF4, although it still could use some additional interface improvements, imo.

I am using the HP SimplePass Identity Protection version 7.0.74.0 from Egistec which works fine for me too but I cannot restore the logins I have previously exported as backup. It says that file is either damaged or it's not a valid SimplePass backup file:

    https://support.mozilla.com/ta-LK/questions/814397

It works great otherwise both with FF 4 and with Windows 7 login but I seem to have lost all my passwords...

Do we have a solution for this yet? ;)

I did it the old fashion way...Wrote them all down then updated. You can uninstall the latest version and then install the version where you backed up your passwords to view the logins. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have all the passwords saved in a third party software, so that part is not a problem. I just would have expected the restore to work, since they officially say it works.

    Thanks anyways :)
