Synaptics 15.3.12.1 seems to have the same issue i use my finger at right side of pad up-down and no vertical scroll on browser ... is that the issue?
-
yeah it keeps clicking or doing things randomly... i'm using version 15.3.21.0 on an dv8t-1200... think i'm gonna revert
-
Even though the multi-touch gestures do not work, I'm having better luck with the Synaptics v15.3.17.0 drivers.
I recommend going to these for now unless you really need to use those gestures. -
12/14/2011
- Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 15.3.26.2.
- Updated Intel HD Graphics driver to version 8.15.10.2559 (15.22.52[.64].2559) / 6.14.0.3086 (Audio).
The updated Synaptics TouchPad driver package includes both x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) versions, contrary to what is currently indicated in the documentation. -
Two finger scroll still does not work.
-
I can say that 2 finger scrolling doesn't work on my HDX either, although I haven't used the touchpad since I reinstalled Windows 7 to my SSD, I just now noticed it wasn't working >.>

Never thought HP was going to release a new one, but they will!
The download link is not active yet as of this posting.

- Updated HP SimplePass Software by DigitalPersona to version 5.2.0.233 for Windows x64.
-----
For those of you needing the 2-finger or 3-finger gestures, use the following Synaptics driver. If you do not need this feature, just use the current release that I have on the first post.
Version: 15.3.12.1

you can add the HP Simple Pass Identity Protections by Egis which is working with the Chrome v.16.
you can check it here

It's not a matter of necessity.
Once you get used, it is difficult to stop using.
I will try this version. Thanks.
EDIT: This version works fine. I've 2-finger scroll again. -

Hi
Has anyone flashed a HDX16 1100EO with the F.34 BIOS ??? The HTML link says its for HDX18 only! ??? -
Not sure what you are referring to (the link is for both the HDX 16 and HDX 18), but it should work.
-
I have the F.34 on my HDX16 1060eg.
-
Ok! i now dared to flash my BIOS =D. It worked perfectly. TY!

The new HP Simplepass version is now out and can be downloaded from HP servers today.
Unfortunatly there seems to be a bug in the windows installer pack.
The program/installation quits on ~90% with an error, that through a problem in the windows installer pack a file can not be installed.
Any ideas? -

any update on HP simplepass by egistec that worked with FF 9?? thx
-
It's finally up!
01/14/2012
- Activated the download link for HP SimplePass Software by DigitalPersona, version 5.2.0.233 for Windows x64 (64-bit).
01/15/2012
- Updated IDT High Definition Audio driver to version 6.10.6368.0.
- Updated Broadcom 2070 / 20702 Bluetooth driver package to version 6.5.0.2900.
- Updated Intel WiFi Link driver (and software) to version 14.3.0.6 (thanks Toink).
As a reminder, the Broadcom Bluetooth driver package version is 6.5.0.2900; individual driver components may have a different version number.
Also, there are two versions of the Intel WiFi Link package - one that includes only the driver, and the other which includes both the driver and My WiFi Technology software. Both versions are linked on the first post.
To my knowledge, no. You may want to contact Egistec to see if there is an update available. -
Does anybody has the same problem with updating the new 64bit digitalpersona version?
-
Hi Justin...(long time I didn't login here...missed this thread a lot...
)
The link for the latest Bluetooth driver doesn't work:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-56000/sp55670.exe
Can you confirm?
Thanks a lot,
Axel -
Welcome back Axel! Great to see you posting again.
Just realized this too - the download link isn't working yet but it will be once HP uploads the package (I'm a little further ahead than they are
). For the time being and in order to reduce confusion, I have deactivated the link and will reactivate it once the Softpaq goes live.

01/19/2012
- Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 15.3.33.0.
Yes, multifinger scrolling and gestures are now working again!!!
-
Thanks Justin, the link is now working.
I uninstalled the Egistec version of Simplepass software and installed DigitalPersona, but I had problems with Lastpass (my password manager that supports fingerprint auth), when it asks for the finger scan the DigitalPersona software intercepts the action and won't pass it to Lastpass so I've uninstalled it.
Now I'm running without any of the two but my fingerprints keep working...probably Windows is managing them...less stuff running on the PC.
Now I'm updating Synaptics...
Thanks again and keep up the great job.
Axel -
A bit off topic, but I really want to express my thanks to the folks keeping the DV7-3xxx and DV7-4xxx drivers up to date for us. Its a lot of work, and an almost a thankless job. Do not think for a moment your good work goes unnoticed! THANK YOU!
-
Thanks for the info.

01/21/2012
- Updated Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller driver to version 7.050 for Windows 7.
You're welcome! Looking back, I've been maintaining this thread for the last 2.5 years now and it's still going strong! I know there are still a bunch of users here (including myself!) that still own these notebooks. Driver updates are just one of those (sometimes overlooked) ways that can at times add value to a notebook.
HP fails to realize this, and this is part of the reason why I do this. Plus, I love finding driver updates in my spare time - so why not expand the discussion and discovery to others?
-
Thank god the world is full of people who have strange "passions" like this...and internet is great because it's the only way of knowing them; how could you find a guy which has the same "driver update" passion in real life?
-
02/02/2012
- Updated Intel Chipset Device Software to version 9.3.0.1019.
- Removed Intel HD Graphics driver version 8.15.10.2559 (15.22.52[.64].2559) / 6.14.0.3086 (Audio).
- Updated the post template.
The first post has an updated look - check it out!
Also, the driver components within the Intel Chipset Device Software will have a version that is less than or equal to 9.3.0.1019, depending on when the particular driver was last updated by Intel. -
Do you know why Intel removed its latest HD Graphics driver 8.15.10.2559 (Win7Vista_64_152252.exe) from their download center? This driver has been released on October 28, 2011 but is unavailable for a couple of weeks. Since then the latest driver is 8.15.10.2509 (Win7Vista_64_152250.exe) again that has been originally released on September 3, 2011.
Did 8.15.10.2559 caused any serious problems? -
02/03/2012
- Updated IDT High Definition Audio driver to version 6.10.6370.0.
I've been experiencing popping sound problems with 6.10.6370.0; try it if you feel adventurous.
Unfortunately, I do not know why Intel had taken down version 8.15.10.2559. -
FUnny because I just finished installing a Intel 320 and had to do a clean install, I thought it was some weird power saving setting although the popping sound is now gone; I just used the version that was up a few hours ago s:
-
I've always had the popping sound issue, I guess it's the sound device (re-)activating "loudly", but with this version it certainly seemed to happen more often. I wonder if it's because they made the speaker go much quicker into hibernation, maybe there is a setting where this can be tuned and they changed the default.
-
I have a HDX 16-1180 for some time already but never used the DVB-T tuner. Now I see that the tuner does not find a single channel (I have tested this with another DVB-T tuner and could receive all available analog channels, to exclude signal and cable defects).
My driver is AverMedia ver. 1.00.64.45 of 10.6.2008. I see that you have a new update for the DVB-T tuner (for Vista 64) and I have installed it. However, as consequence I get a device/driver conflict and can only restate the original driver by restarting the notebook. The DVB-T tuner, however, is still not receiving any channel. Any idea what else I could do? Thanks. -
Hi justinkw1,
thanks for your response. I would like to inform you that a new Intel HD Graphics driver is out and ready for download. Its version number is 15.22.54.64.2622 (64-bit systems) and 15.22.54.2622 (32-bit systems) respectively.
Runs perfectly on my EliteBook 8440p. -

- Updated Intel HD Graphics driver to version 8.15.10.2622 (15.22.54[.64].2622) / 6.14.0.3086 (Audio) (thanks blaze84).
-
You meant digital instead of analogue here?
What applications did you do the search in? Did you choose the correct search range for your region? -
Likewise. It "pops" like crazy now. IDT also disabled my audio with this driver version after a restart, tried disabling/re-enabling, still didn't work, reinstall did nothing. I'm rolling back for now.

re: IDT High Definition Audio driver to version 6.10.6370.0.
Popping noises seem to go away on my HDX18 if IDT Power Management options are turned off.
In IDT audio control panel > Preferences tab > Settings > General, disable both Basic and Advanced Power Management (click the radio buttons so they are gray). There is a notice regarding clicks and pops when enabled just underneath the radio buttons. -
i still have the following problem. With the latest Touchsensor drivers installed all Symbols are working except the DVD Eject Button. Any ideas or advises to get that fixed?
