    • Updated: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT / GT 130M / GT 230M / GT 320M graphics driver package, version 9.18.13.3788 (337.88) / 1.3.30.1 (HDMI Audio) / 9.13.1220 (PhysX).

Please note, this package will not work (natively) with these notebooks. Intel is no longer supporting the Intel 5-series / 1st generation Core i processors in their current drivers. :(

Hey everyone, great information here, so helpful.

I've just done a clean install of Win 7 Pro on my dv8-1250ea. It's all seems to have gone OK apart from one unknown device which for the life of me can't work out what it is.

Any ideas ? Some screen prints of info from Device Manager not much to go on

I have screen prints of Device Manager prior to the clean install and have attempted a spot the difference. Only devices I can see on the pre clean install list that aren't on the post clean install list are:

Under modems, a standard modem - could it be that ?
Under ports: "RIM virtual serial port v2 (COM3)" and
"RIM virtual serial port v2 (COM4)

Any help gratefully received. Many thanks in advance

Has anyone tried the win 10 preview on these dv series laptops? I recently reloaded my machine and don't want to do it again to test it, so just seeing if anyone else has tried it yet.

HP Simplepass Digital Persona (Fingerprint Reader Software)
    Version 8.01.11 RevA
    Works for both Win 7/8 - 32/64bit

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66143.exe

You will need to uninstall your current version, and reboot. Then install this version, then reboot. Login to the pc as normal. You will need to navigate to:

    C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SimplePass

    Run the file ClientCore.exe
    Register your fingerprint

You won't have an icon in the taskbar as you would with the previous versions, but it's still running in the background. I pinned it by going in the software, going under my settings, and ticking the box to pin it to the taskbar.

You can try it, I tried one but I noticed some of it still wasn't converting. Plus it's pure text, so it doesn't look right to me, since I saw it before they upgraded the forum.

I have an HP DV6-2119TX wherein I just changed the OS to Win 7 64 bit before further upgrading to 8.1 54 bit. After installing the drivers from HP site, I find 1. Unknown device 2. Unknown Multi Media Controller in Device Manager. I presume that the unknown device should be the Network adaptor whose specs are not mentioned in the guides. Also the Webcam software does not get installed.
Would appreciate any help on this and would the win 7 64 bit drivers work with win 8.1 64 bit

    Hey everyone!

As many of you may have noticed, the first post of this thread was not correctly formatted after we had transitioned to the XenForo forum platform. This is due to the fact that XenForo does not natively support HTML out of the box. In an attempt to make the first post more readable, I've started reconstructing the post using BBCode -- it's not going to look as great as the table format, but I'll try to do what I can to make it easier on the eyes for y'all. :)

    A few notes:
    • Most previous driver releases have been removed to save on space
    • Documentation links are not yet active - these will be added soon
    • FTP driver links are not yet linkable - this will be fixed soon
    • A few components have "To be updated" references; they will be updated with a compatible driver when time permits
I will also be applying some additional formatting as the reconstruction progresses. Aside from what was already mentioned, please let me know if there is anything missing or if there are any inaccuracies on the first post. This is my very first attempt at reconstruction from both a content and formatting perspective, so it would be great to hear your constructive feedback. :)

Thanks again everyone for your support (and pardon the dust)!

    Hi justinkw1

What if you create a google docs spreadsheet table with the links of required drivers, instead of complicated HTML???
I think that will save much of your time

The only problem with the spreadsheet is that I won't be able to embed it in the first post to allow for easy access. I would have to link it to an external source (or as an attachment) and that would be inconvenient from an access perspective.

Additionally, my plan is to convert these posts from HTML to BBCode.

    • Added spoilers for each driver / BIOS / software item.
    • Formatted subheaders for each driver / BIOS / software item so that they are more distinguishable.
    • FTP links are now being identified as clickable links.
    • Formatted section headers so that they are more distinguishable.
A few drivers as well as documentation links still need to be added.

    UPDATE: Drivers are now up.
    • Updated: Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller driver, version 7.091 for Windows 7 and version 8.037 for Windows 8 / 8.1.
    • Updated: Intel WiFi Link software package, version 14.3.2.1 (legacy driver) / 16.7.0 (package).
    • Updated: Intel HD Graphics software package, version 8.15.10.2993 (driver) / 6.14.0.3086 (HDMI Audio) / 15.22.58[.64].2993 (package).

This driver is not compatible with HP's consumer notebooks; it's only compatible with HP's business lineup.
