    I am still waiting and carefully watching for the next batch...every day. I really hope I can score one for the firesale price, but if not, there are tons for sale on ebay or craigslist from those looking to make a buck, many, many bucks. YOu LUcky Dog!

    You should be able to download and install the graphics driver provided directly by AMD if you do not need the switchable graphics feature.

    The current release at the time of this posting is version 11.8 (8.881). Download links are below.

    You can actually install the unified intel/amd video driver from the list here, then install the updated AMD driver for your video card. I'm doing that, now, and it works, surprisingly. Allows switching between the two video cards, too, so you don't sacrifice that precious battery life.

    The updated Intel Chipset Device Software package does not include new drivers for these notebooks, so no need to apply if you have already done it before with a previous release.

    Please note that the Broadcom Bluetooth version 6.5 packages will, without your permission, install bloatware into the following directory - C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\EasyBits Games. You can safely remove the EasyBits Games folder and then run a registry scan (using third-party software) to remove any other evidence of EasyBits on your system.

    Actual Broadcom Bluetooth driver components will have driver version numbers that will differ from the package version (which is 6.5.0.2100). However, the driver components should have a version number with the format of 6.5.X.XXXX, where X is a number.

    So you just "layered" the most recent HP drivers (version 8.771.1.0) over the ones listed above?

    I assume that before you installed the above reference drivers you uninstalled your current drivers and used Driver Sweeper to clear out the rest?

    No - if you want to keep the switchable graphics feature enabled but want to use the current AMD graphics driver, you will need to install the HP-provided driver on the first post and then install the current graphics driver located on the AMD website.

    Do not uninstall the HP-provided drivers at any time during this process, otherwise the switchable graphics feature will no longer operate properly. In other words, you have no choice but to "layer" for everything to work.

    This version will not work with these notebooks, since they use Intel 5-series motherboard chipsets.

    I believe this only works on current generation HP notebooks (6-series).

    hey man the latest f.29 bios file(sp55299.exe) is not there.

    where is it ?

    i check on the other thread and when i click to download it says not available has hp pulled the file off the ftp server

    BIOS update release notes indicate that it provides enhanced thermal management. Not much else to go on though... :confused:

    So if I have a dv6t-3000 CTO (purchased July 2010) with switchable graphics and a Mob. Radeon 5650, what are my graphics drivers options...even if I have to lose the switchable graphics and just use the Radeon?

    If you want to retain switchable graphics while using the latest AMD graphics driver, you can install the HP graphics driver package and then install the reference AMD graphics driver package on top of the HP package.

    If you do not need switchable graphics, you can simply install the reference AMD graphics driver and simply ignore the HP graphics driver.

    The latest reference package is currently Catalyst Mobility 11.12. Direct download links from AMD are available on the first post.

    Hey i have the same laptop with switchable graphics and mobility radeon 5650.

    First install the HP drivers of the 5650 listed in the thread. Make sure that is working fine and the driver is updated (check via Device Manager (Control Panel -> Device Manager -> under Display Adapters -> right click AMD card and check driver version under properties))

    Then download install the Catalyst Mobility 11.12 (from frontpage post) on top of the previosuly installed HP and just install as usual, don't unclick anything or select out a feature, the installer should detect automatically and upgrade the Catalyst Center and install a display driver. Again do not uninstall anything, just install one after you install the other.

    It won't mess up anything. I've noticed after installing it that the Catalyst center looks a bit different and seems to be more reactive and works pretty good. All working good, attached screenshot of the "updated" cc center. Again same laptop with features as you.

    My experience with the latest HP Simple Pass Protection x64
    hmm so i uninstalled the previous Egitec version of HP Simple Pass Protection as they made it work with firefox and chrome but they stopped development because they couldn't keep up pace with Firefox versions nd said if HP wanted them they should ask them so they stopped doing free "updates" as they [Egitec] had to focus on their product

    So i installed this latest version from HP, the HP Simple Pass Protection, and it works fine except it doesn't work with Chrome or Firefox at all! After so many years, what the heck is HP doing? No Support for Chrome or Firefox, i feel tempted to uninstall and install Egitech's version of HP Simple Pass Protection, erggghhh

    The version that you are linking to is the one developed by Authentec. I'm currently linking to the one developed by DigitalPersona.

    Either will work with these notebooks. I'm hearing that the one developed by Egistec is not compatible however.

    @justinkw1, Dude u have done an outstanding job in this thread. This is exactly what i wanted and was looking for a long time. I dont know why it took me so long to find this thread. But now i am so thankful after finding such a great systematic collection of HP Drivers compatible with my laptop.
    I have one request for all guys in this thread. Can anyone sort these drivers in a list according to the order they should be installed in after a clean install of OS, so as to get the best results and avoid any conflict if possible.
    I have googled it and i found it on DELL's website and that list is exactly what i wanted, but the problem is that that list is for dell drivers and softwares and a few of them have names very different from HP drivers so i was not able to convert that list correctly for HP.     @Epinephrine: you can install the drivers starting from the top down (roughly). Exception is the BIOS, which should be updated first if needed; that's located near the bottom of the post.

    The order looks good - update to the latest BIOS first before anything else and I think you should be fine.
