Install Youcam software. Its application for your webcam. Drivers should be installed by windows.

Mmm...I have a DV7-6C70EL with Windows 8 Pro x64 too, and my webcam HP Truevision HD is already installed without any third part software as Youcam.

Go to Device Manager directly from Win+X menù (or right click in the bottom left corner of desktop), click on Imaging Devices if available, or click the option "Action" -> "Scan for new hardware" to try to find it. In case that method doesn't work, try as said by arijan.

It's also true that I had installed Youcam when I purchased my notebook and after I uninstalled it, but with Windows 8 Upgrade maybe the system didn't delete webcam driver...

    Ok, I find this guide:

    Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) | HP® Support

Open the voice "Webcam is not listed in Device Manager" and follow the guide to apply a soft reset.

It's the last way that you have to restore the webcam, azzishow (send me a private message if you want to speak with our language. ;) )

Which Bluetooth module do you have? Ralink/Motorola or Broadcom chip?
I saw that HP no longer support your notebook model, so you must try with generic driver of this Bluetooth chips.

Broadcom Bluetooth Driver (General Installation Wizard): Bluetooth Software Download | Broadcom (or simply use the packet in first page of this thread: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59021.exe )

If you have Ralink/Motorola module, have you tried to reinstall drivers with compatibility mode?

...And if this superb Broadcom wireless adapter, then to prevent problems with wifi (losing internet connection, but not the network, I don't know, why) when changing from battery to AC, or from AC to battery, set the same energy oprions under the power schemes/power options/wireless adapter settings for plugged in and battery modes. (For example, maximum performance for both...) At least, for me, it helped.

I have an HP Dv6 with the ATI 6770m (driver version: HP's official 8.882.2.3000 + AMD 12.10) and the only game that crashes is Battlefield 3.
Is there any stable driver for Battlefield 3?

    Thanks ;)

I have a 7690m XT, that is a re-brand of your same GPU, and I have the same problem, or well, I can't see any menù or click anything :( have you tried to install latest beta driver (13.2 Beta 6)? With other games I had more stability, especially Far Cry 3 that crashed every 10 minutes with stable 12.10... ;)

Hello everyone! first of all id like to say great thread with lots of great information that seems to be helping a lot of people. I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 64bit to Windows 8 64bit. Needless to say I am having nothing but problems.

I own a Dv6-6b75ca Laptop with the Intel HD 3000 / HD 6490M setup. On Windows 7 64 bit the drivers provided by HP worked flawlessly. However, the driver package listed for my Laptop on HP's website for windows 8 64bit (sp59850) does not work. I realize that the package states it works with my model and with the HD 6490M but upon further inspection my hardware ID's are not listed in the .inf file for this driver package. My hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_3581103C

However, the latest leshcat drivers have my hardware id listed in the .inf file and the drivers work fine but for some reason after using the leshcat drivers for some time the switchable graphics stop working and do not correct until i reinstall the drivers.

It boggles my mind why HP has listed this driver package for my laptop model when my hardware ID is not even in the inf file.

here is a post i made on the HP forums with more details on what i have tried and more information that may help anyone help me correct this issue:
DV6-6b75ca Windows 8 Switchable Graphics Issues (AMD HD 6490... - HP Support Forum - 2404691

I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this matter. thanks in advance and once again great thread!

I have the same configuration with graphic as you, but it works fine on my laptop.
I my 6490m was also recognized as 7400m, but then i played with this drivers that are uploaded here and in the end, i had few different options to select under hardware manager and i just played with those options, selecting and trying drivers.

Are you using the latest HD3000 drivers?
If you are, try letting windows to select drivers for HD3000. I dont use the latest software that is on here, its not stable on my laptop.

Would you mind telling me what driver package you used and what you did to it? Also what is the hardware ID of your 6490M. I know others have got the 6490M working but as far as I know no one with the same hardware ID as me has got it working. Thanks in advance.

    Sorry I didn't respond sooner.
    For 6490m it says:
    Date: 15.8.2012
    Version 9.0.0.0
And it says the same under HD3000

But as I said when I use this drivers I only get 722MB ram when I look at properties for HD3000.
Just now I looked to be sure and it showed Minimum 32MB, maximum 722MB and in use 873MB... ? :S

I will try, but I have already a PC Desktop for this type of games, I tried to install BF3 on this notebook only to see how the 7690m XT is faster, but on my PC Desktop I have a GTX 560 (but I can't use it since 7 months, I think I have a problem with power supply that probably is corrupted, but this is OT for this thread ;) )

UPDATE: Ok, also with Leshcat Driver + Issue Resolver it doesn't run...but I tried to set (from configuration file) to play not at Full-screen resolution (so in windowed mode)....and I can play, now the game can use inputs from mouse....I doesn't understand why it can't run at Full Screen....

This BIOS update is also listed for my dv7t-6c00

Ran the sp60655 (BIOS F1C) after download, nothing showed on screen indicating it updated, the bat file did run, I rebooted, did this 3 times even re booting cold from a full shut down, no change in the old BIOS its still F1B.

It took a couple more times, by going to the sp60655 folder in programs x86 and running the bat file a couple times. it than finally gave me the BIOS update screen and the reboot.

    So its updated

For anyone who has my notebook model, DV7-6C70EL: DOESN'T FLASH THE NEW BIOS F.1C.

It's same of F.1B, I doesn't see any improvements, instead, HP didn't correct the Wireless Function Button for Windows 8, it continues to be useless with this latest BIOS updates...so stay with F.1A version, that's better.

Hey guys, for those of you interesting to add a second hard drive in your Envy 17, I am selling a drive caddy.

I bought one last fall but once HP announce that the Envy 17 2000 will not get official support for Windows 8, I immediately replaced the laptop.

For those interested please check out this ebay listing.

Not a driver related post, but since a lot of Envy 2XXX owners are only visiting the drivers thread only, I thought it is a good fit here.

Does anyone go to ati drivers page and rate their page with low scores, because they don't offer drivers for windows 8 for our graphic cards?
I do :) Maybe it will help and they will do something about it... let's just hope. Because if I don't get working drivers for my laptop, I will go back to windows 7 when I get new SSD.

The AMD website does not directly link to the Catalyst Mobility graphics drivers. AMD only provides a verification tool that determines whether your notebook's graphics card works with their generic drivers, which I'm assuming are provided only if validation is successful. The generic driver packages on the first post (which directly link to AMD) work around this, and are compatible with Windows 7 as well as Windows 8.

Recent HP notebooks with AMD graphics cards will fail with AMD's verification tool, due to the fact that HP has customized them with switchable graphics technology. The generic driver packages do not contain the files required to support this feature.

Just saw that IE10 is not compatible with the old Windows 7 HP AMD drivers. As I saw HP does not support the dv6-6xxx notebooks anymore, so I doubt that they will ever release an updated driver package.

The HP Quick Launch Software allows you to use the specialized function keys located at the top of the keyboard (using Fn, F1-F12) .

The On-screen Display Utility is not included with the HP Quick Launch Software. The On-screen Display Utility can be installed separately using this Softpaq:
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55152.exe

    Hello!

In the past years I'm used your guide and list of drivers for my DV7-6103eg. Everything worked fine. Thank you for your work.
But now, I have a problem. Suddenly my graphics performance goes terrible. I'm checked your summary, maybe my vga drivers outdated. I have the "31 oct 2011" version isntalled. Now tried to install the newer version "23 Nov 2011" but failed. There is an error ((Installer package error) pointed to the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable 64bit". I see in the log, I have newer version installed. After this I'm tried to install 12.10 top of the official driver. But after this, the switchable graphics doesn't worked anymore. I'm tried to reinstall my windows (SP1 WIN7 64bit) but getting same errors. I have a saved Windows image with the previous official (oct31) release, but my performance is soo poor. What can I do now? What can I try?

Edit: I'm succeed with uninstalling the Visual C++ package from the control panel / programs menu. So the newer, 23 Nov version installed without any error. Now I'm try to install the current ati release on it.

Edit: Succeed with installing the current ati release top of the hp release. But, I have terrible 3D performance in all games.

    3DMark05 17296, looks good.
    3DMark06 11200, Hmm I don't really understand this.
    Regards
    Istvan

Now I'm figured out the problem. Somehow, if I'm running full screen applications(games) the switchable graphics doesn't switch to the ati card, although the configuration tool working, anp pops up everytime there is a new app. And it is working with the futuremark tests, just don't work in games. Now I'm switched in the system bios the switchable graphics option to fixed, and now everything working fine.

    Someone please help me.

For the last couple months i am unable to install any ati drivers, this is since build 12.8
The problem? every time i install a new driver my screen goes black it doesn't freeze but it goes completely black.
i been getting this problem with display version 9.000.0.0000 (AMD) or above.

And the weird thing is that the driver itself installs normally but it doesn't install the driver for my display, because everything works fine when i plug in a hdmi cable for my tv.

Does anyone know how i can fix this? i already did a clean install or install over the OEM driver.

    HP ENVY 2110ED
    ATI 6850M

Which OS have you installed? If Windows 7, retry to install the old OEM drivers ( ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe) and then update them to latest Beta drivers (AMD Catalyst 13.3 Beta 3, http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/AMD_Catalyst_13.3_Beta3.exe), if you have instead Windows 8, try to install latest stable drivers with Device Manager (or uninstall them and then reinstall always with Device Manager and not any AMD official installer) and update them again with 13.3 Beta 3 drivers. I had a 7690M XT (a rebranded 6770M) and they works fine with both OS versions, if this methods doesn't resolve your problems, try to use Leshcat drivers ;)

My OS is Windows 7 i've done what you said before but had no luck the same goes with the leshcat drivers.
I'm really confused because i'm not a noob with software/drivers but this problem i can't seem to fix.

I'll try to reinstall the OEM driver again and then the beta, i will let you know if this time luck is on my side..
