    Ok, I wait a response ;)

Mmm, I know that is too simple or useless, but have you installed latest BIOS version or Intel Graphic Drivers? If you install only Intel drivers, you could verify that isn't a problem with hybrid graphic system, anywhere try also to use the Fixed mode from BIOS of your laptop and see if you can use the display with one of the GPU installed (if you are unplugged to the current, your PC will use only the integrate Intel GPU or viceversa).

The latest drivers are the same in the first page of this topic: The file that you are trying to (after you install them, restart your PC and be sure, to use only Intel GPU, that you have Dynamic mode activated from your BIOS or Fixed mode with your laptop unplugged to the current).

I warn you, many times when you installed Intel Drivers you lost the hybrid graphic system, so try to install them to verify if it only a problem with AMD drivers...

I don't know, I tried many times to use the old drivers and update them to 9.0+ versions without any problem...but you upgrade your laptop to Win8 with a full clean installation or with an upgrade? I used the second option...if you used instead the first metode, I think that you lost some important drivers that your laptop used with Win7, that Win8 needs and HP didn't release...mine is a hypothesis.

A reference guide of how you could install a reference driver on your system is listed here. The steps are listed to ensure the propretary Intel HD driver signed by AMD doesn't get removed.

Replace the factory driver link with those of yours.

Never install a reference Intel HD driver from downloadcenter.intel.com, it breaks switchable+ hybrid graphics.

I suggested him to install Intel HD drivers from official Intel site to verify that if it's only a problem with AMD drivers and not of both graphic units (because it's too strange that doesn't show the display on laptop screen)...

First off, I am not guaranteeing this will work but tenatively for a good number of DV6 late 2011 models and such and DM4 (basically its a 14" version of DV6 in 2011), it worked. If it doesn't work, that'll be associated to driver crash related issues so do back up your files.

This is what I've written and as a round up of what this is going to do, it:
    1. Drivers: The Intel HD will sit on the custom hybrid/switchable supported driver by AMD/HP
    2. Dedicated graphics will sit on reference Catalyst drivers for performance enhancements

Let me pre-declare what could go wrong through my personal experiences dealing with these
    1. If you're on Windows 8, there is a possibility that the Intel HD custom hybrid driver will crash when it pairs up with the dGP using a reference driver (only when on switchable graphics, when you attempt to switch from Intel HD to AMD vice versa
    2. Persistent post startup BSOD (driver caused). This happened with many systems on Catalyst 12.8WHQL, hasn't really happened after with myself. But I'd encourrage you to look out for this.
    3. If the BSOD issue happens, boot up into safe mode via F8 (as the BIOS screen comes up, spamhit your F8 key), Advanced startup should appear, pick safe mode, logon, uninstall the reference driver completely. WHen you reboot, you should be back with the microsoft generic VGA driver which has like a 99.9% compatibility with any PC. From there, you'd want to reinstall the factory driver (if you give up on trying reference drivers)

[replace the factory drivers with your own factory driver for your specific model]

The link I've provided is the official AMD WHQL notebook driver for January 2013. 64 bit version. If your computer is 32 bit (which I highly doubt), change the "64" after the "win8_" part to "32" to download that.

Lifted the post over for referential purposes. :) Have you ensured that you installed the drivers the appropriate way>

Post updated Mar 2013 (For referential purposes)

What you need (This applies to DM4-3XXX with discrete AMD GPUs, DV6-6xxx with AMD Discretes and DV7s with AMD discretes, Intel based processor:
    1. (HP Factory Driver)
      For Windows 7:ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe.
      For windows 8: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59850.exe
    2. (AMD Reference Driver) Catalyst 13.1 WHQL(January 2013)
      http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/mobile/13-1_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe
    3. Download .Net Framework 4. .Net framework is a required software to run Catalyst Control Center. In Catalyst 12.11 Enduro, AMD upped the requirements for .Net framework to version 4 instead of the previous version 3.5. Get the latest update for .Net framework via Windows update.
    4. If you have softwares/files that require backing up, back them up.

Part 1: To install HP Custom drivers by HP (SP5xxxx):
    1. Firstly run the Catalyst Uninstall Utility to clean up any residual AMD drivers, corrupted or not (Note: this removes all AMD installed softwares). http://www2.ati.com/drivers/amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0.exe
    2. If you have installed an Intel HD driver from Intel's website, uninstall it (reason below)
    3. Restart
    4. Run your HP softpaq installer, install everything in the package, restart.

Part 2: To install Reference drivers by AMD (Better stability and performance):
    1. Go to your Control Panel->Uninstall a program
    2. Uninstall AMD Catalyst Install Manager
    3. While at the uninstall menu, select the first uninstall option that lets you select what to uninstall.
    4. Check to uninstall all features EXCEPT AMD Display Driver (Leave the Integrated graphic Intel HD drivers alone) I repeat do not touch it or things will screw up. Restart the laptop.
    5. Run the Catalyst software installer, select Install -> Custom -> Make sure you have a checkbox with a black frame around the component, "AMD Display Driver". If this is not present, hit cancel and repeat this step and make sure "AMD Display Driver" shows up. This is to ensure the installation file has detected your graphics hardware. If it does not show AMD display driver, the installer is not detecting your GPU.
    6. If step 3 succeeds, make sure all components are selected and hit next to finish the installation.
    7. (Only if it fails) Uninstall Catalyst and begin from step 1 again. This may take more than 1 attempt.

Now why you can't touch the Intel HD or update it via Intel's website

It uses a driver modified by HP or AMD for hybrid/switchable graphics support that enables the laptop to run a secondary dedicated graphic card. Installing a Intel HD driver from Intel's website would also mess up how switchable graphics and hyrbid graphics work because Intel HD drivers on Intel's side are only meant for PCs with standalone Intel HD graphics. It has NO switchable support. The only proprietary drivers that will work are supplied by HP's driver support site.

    Important Note
I strongly discourage people from using beta drivers. For the follwing reasons:
    1. Beta drivers have more potential stability issues. If this is your primary computing machine, are you willing to sacrifice stability at the cost of getting crashes and such?
    2. They're not digitally signed and you'll need to do certain things to circumvent this feature called "Driver Signature Enforcement" which makes it mandatory for drivers to have digital signatures. On Win 7 64Bit and upwards to windows 8, this feature is effectively permenant unless you *work it around*

Also, NEVER disable a laptop's Intel HD in any circumstance... Your your display signals are routed through the Intel HD even if you're running the dedicated GPU as the renderer. Disabling an Intel HD causes a black screen that can only be fixed if you re-enabled it via Safe Mode booting.

Other notes: My own issues, Switchable Graphics mode is unable to toggle to Intel HD from the Radeon HD, it causes a BSOD each time I attempt to do that with SP59850 on Windows 8. Its a DM4 though, I haven't heard of issues on DV6/7 just yet. The only way to go back to the Intel HD for me was to use hybrid graphics.

Anyway Windows 8 was already unstable for me since the clean upgrade. For that I've reverted back to Windows 7, no complaints.

ALWAYS back up all important files if there are any.

Yes (i have a 7690m XT, but it's a 6770m rebrand), it uses same drivers of 13.3 Beta 2 version...but strangely, if you install official AMD 13.4 packages, you don't lost the hybrid GPU switch... :) Now I have installed 13.5 Beta 2 drivers, are the same of 13.4 and 13.3 Beta 2 packages...only updates the Catalyst Control Center...

Believe I heard 7690M XT is an unofficial card. HP technically ran this card with different modifications and because the hardware ID of the 6770M and its official rebrands do not use the same ID, the XT's ID is missing from the reference AMD drivers. (Might be your cause why CCC updates without the driver update.

This issue is repeatedly reported on HP forums and some people received a different laptop in exchange.

Though if you use Leshcat it may be a different story since he does installation whitelist mods I believe.

I have no problem with my GPU's name, I know everything you said ;) The important thing is that my graphic unit run very well, then if it's named 6770m or 7690m XT doesn't change anything for me ;)

This looks like your OEM driver (if you have switchable intel/radeon apu/gpu) its for W7 64bit, there is also a 32bit driver if your system is x86. It seems only to list drivers for W7, so I'm assuming it will only run W7 per HP, however I'm sure it would run W8, but than you'd need to use some 3r party driver as HP won't have a W8 graphics driver for your unit..

So today I've reinstalled my system (Win8 x64 / HP DV6-6110eh) and I want to use the bulit in camera as well. As I remember, I had problems with the provided installer under Win7 (it was simply not working). So now I want to use it. Is here anyone, who uses it without any problems? Could you please give me a link to the installer?

It's strange, because now I can't find it as an unidentified device in the device manager. Plus my microphone is also not working, which is right next to the camera. Maybe it's cable disconnected from its connector? Is it possible? IDT High Definition Audio Codec is installed and I remember so, that the microphone was working without the camera installed. Or am I wrong? (The recommended win7 pack for the camera was sp53160.)

1.Sir, I'm unable to install any amd video driver on my dv6 6121tx post 12.6....It simply doesn't show any driver in the package..I have tried everything, but in vain...
2.Also the audio driver you've mentioned in the 1st page(sp59861.exe) gets installed but no sound comes ever from the speakers...
3.The fingerprint sensor doesn't work(just blinks) when I update to latest driver/simplepass package.

Please guide me out of this issue..
    Thanks,

    1. Not sure if I can assist you very well on this issue. If you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you uninstall all of your graphics drivers, then try installing the stock graphics driver provided by HP. After this is done, install the AMD Catalyst package of your choice directly over the stock drivers.
    2. Try giving the latest IDT audio package a try. I just posted some new ones. :)
    3. Make sure that you go through the initial HP SimplePass software setup. You can do this by running SimplePass...there is a section that will allow you to setup/delete your fingerprints, etc.

    Hi,

I have finally found the trick to make my Ralink / Motorola Bluetooth + High-Speed Adapter 3.0 to work. It is a lengthy process and I wont be responsible if you end up spoiling your laptop.

This is the process in step wise format-

    1. Uninstall any drivers presently installed for Ralink / Motorola Bluetooth + High-Speed Adapter. (Very Important)
    2. Download Ralink Drivers from http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/ralink/bluetooth/Ralink_Bluetooth_1107375-w8(www.station-drivers.com).exe
    3. Install it and then open device manager.
    4. In Device manager, select the Bluetooth device, right click and choose update driver software.
    5. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and in the next page Choose " Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
    6. Uncheck show compatible hardware, Choose Ralink Corporation and then select Ralink RT3290LE Bluetooth Device.
    7. Ignore warnings, and install the driver.
    8. Restart your PC.
    9. In windows 8 start screen, type Bluetooth - select settings from the search bar in the right and then choose "Change Bluetooth settings"
    10. Enable "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" and everything else. In the share tab check " allow other Bluetooth devices to access files and folders". Press OK and save your changes.
    11. Now download and install Bluesoleil 8.XXX Pa(onlyserial.blogspot.com) - Download - 4shared - sobuz siful
    12. Run the file to patch Bluesoelil, because it will prevent you to stream music from your device to your PC, some licensing error. The driver is somewhat linked with Bluesoleil and needs to be patched.
    13. After this open hosts file ( C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc) and add these lines to it - (simply copy and paste)

    127.0.0.1 http://www.bluesoleil.com

    127.0.0.1 bluesoleil.com

    127.0.0.1 142.0.138.83

    127.0.0.1 bluesoleil.en.uptodown.com

    127.0.0.1 dns1.hichina.com

    127.0.0.1 dns2.hichina.com

You might get an error while saving the hosts file, for this prior to doing any changes right click on the file and in the properties page, go to the security tab and allow full control to your user.

    14. Block the files Bluesoleil.exe, Bluesoleilcs.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ralink Corporation\Ralink Bluetooth Stack (windows firewall doesn't work)
    15. Restart your PC and your Bluetooth should work.

    Regards.

Hello everyone I own a HP DV6-6b75ca HP Pavilion dv6-6b75ca Entertainment Notebook PC | HP® Support

I have been using leshcat drivers since my previous frustrations to get the official Windows 8 drivers listed for my model working. Recently I have decided to give it another go since I have some bugs here and there with the leshcat drivers which is to be expected.

The problem is, even though there are official drivers listed for my model on the HP website (sp59850.exe) when I try to install them there is no option to select the installation of drivers. I am only presented with addons and the like. This leads me to believe that my hardware ID's are not included in this package.

To further prove this theory, I extracted the sp59850.exe, opened the inf file and ran a search for my hardware ids for both the AMD card (Radeon HD 6490M) and the Intel card (Intel HD 3000 gen 2). The search returned zero results.

My hardware ID's are as follows:

    Radeon HD 6490M:
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_3581103C

    Intel HD 3000 (Second Gen):
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_3581103C

It is beyond me that they would list this package as compatible with my laptop model when they obviously are not. Furthermore, to my knowledge I have found no official package that supports my hardware ID's. This is forcing me to use the leshcat drivers.

If anyone has any ideas or help as to getting any official packages working with my model that would be great. Thanks in advance.

So what is the deal with Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller? I have found much newer drivers but they are not listed by Intel. Has anyone had any experience?

    Edit:
2.1.39.0 can be found on http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm

Installed fine on my Envy 17 2000. The specific device is NEC/RENESAS USB3 Controller uPD720200

There are firmware updates to these controllers on the site (very tempted but scared) and a 5 page thread about it:

    http://www.station-drivers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4111

    http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130099

Hope someone else can shed more light on this.

    Hello,

I recently updated my dv6t-6100 CTO quad to win8 pro and I'm having troubles with changing beats audio settings. I have installed the driver but if I go into the software and try to change any of the settings, it makes no difference in sound. I have seen some people saying to reinstall win7 and then upgrade to win8 to keep the original drivers but I have already done a clean install and that would be a giant hassle. Is there a workaround that doesn't involve reinstalling the OS?

    Thanks

    Hi ZhuluNation,

Envy 17 2000 here. In my experience the newest IDT drivers will not work properly for your card if you pull them from this thread. It is best to stick to the latest driver provided by HP.
I have gone through 10 different IDT packages (downloaded 40) because I was keen. ;D .. still haven't had the time to analyse the differences in the ini files. I am sure there is a way to mod the newest drivers to entail settings from the initial HP drivers but that is too much of a headache.

Full control of Beats (The left side settings) + Proper speaker support (newer drivers sounded strange .. it looked like it was trying to use 6 channels whilst I only have 2) I could only obtain with original HP driver.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, I've tried to update the intel RST, but it finishes with an error. Uninstalling also, repairing also, downgrading to an older version also. So now I tried the mentioned INF method, but... what is the name of the device I should update with the INF method? For me, there is only a "Microsoft storage manager" in the device list. Should I update that one with the iaStorAC.inf or iaAHCIC.inf? If so, which one of the two? I'm not using RAID.
    Thanks!

go to bios, search for switchable graphics and set it from dynamic to fixed. now you'll be able to select your radeon any time with the method you described above, but using fixed mode will cause your intel graphics working unpredictable, so for example, random crashes at firefox or some other apps. so you better use the radeon always. :)

    Hi,

it looks like when you installed Windows 8 the default Intel drivers for HD 3000 were instaled, which do not support switchable graphics. You will have to uninstall them and install HPmodified instead. Look after them on the first page or download from this link:

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59407.exe

You can also try the Leshcat modified drivers, they also work great.
