not really, i always install the HP video driver first then i install all the ATI driver including the CCC and all function still works. So i can confirm that newer CCC still have the option for switchable graphic card

Well, that's a risk of installing normal/ modded AMD graphic driver on unsupported machines.

Either it works or not, and the results are not consistent on many similar machines.

It would work for some or fails on some.

It might decide to work after reinstalling a few times. Or break after awhile.

Usually CCC upgrade is the first sign of failure that most people who failed often faced.

    Doesn't hurt to try. :)

CCC updates usually include AMD side of fixes and improvements their switchable graphics though undocumented.

Hi Justin, how exactly do I remove the previous version of Intel Management Engine driver before installing the new one?

    Thanks for the updates.

I'm not exactly sure (since I do not own a notebook that requires it), but try finding the Intel Management Engine Interface in the Programs and Features control panel. If it's not there, then try finding the device in Device Manager - if you find it in the Device Manager, uninstall and remove the previous driver from there (and restart if necessary).

If all else fails, you can just run the setup wizard for the new version (it should hopefully update without issue).

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

    Hey everyone,

As you can see, I consolidated (merged) all of the content from the ENVY 14-2XXX driver thread into this thread. The ENVY 14-2XXX Sandy Bridge is not too different from the other notebook models already covered here, except for the Qualcomm Atheros Ethernet adapter and the lack of a few components (compatibility notes were added to the first post for additional guidance). All ENVY 14-2XXX driver updates will be posted here from now on, along with any other updates that are found for the dv6-4XXX, dv6-6XXX, dv7-429X, dv7-5XXX, dv7-6XXX, and ENVY 17-2XXX series.

    09/03/2011
    • Merged ENVY 14-2XXX driver thread and support into this thread.
    • Added Atheros AR8121 / AR8131 / AR8151 PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver.
    • Removed Intel Turbo Boost Technology standalone driver.
    • Removed Intel HD Graphics driver.
    • Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 15.3.12.1.

This driver package is for business notebooks, and is not natively compatible with consumer notebooks. There is a another version now available though, as I mentioned above. :)

I'll need to create driver entries for these - these are components that I will need to add in soon. :)

Also, the dv6-6bXX and dv7-6bXX models will be available soon (international versions only?) - it is not known yet if the internal components will remain the same. We'll just have to wait and see.

This BIOS update is NOT meant to work on the dv6-6XXX and dv7-6XXX notebook series. This release is for the dv6-1XXX and dv7-2XXX series (a much older notebook line using Intel's Core 2 Duo processors).

I'll take a look -- I'll be catching up on the updates shortly. :)

    AMD HDMI Audio Driver: 03/29/2011,7.12.0.7701

    Intel Display Audio Driver: 6.14.0.3074

I'll be posting this up to the first post once I reorganize it, since this driver does not support the Envy 14's 6630 graphics. :(

I got it installed and it's running smoothly..

So the driver is still nowhere near the 11.09 or 11.10 that amd drivers are at at the moment?

Also I believe the intel driver had been updated recently, does this include that as well?

    Thanks

HP's version of the AMD graphics driver is much older than what AMD currently provides.

The Intel switchable graphics driver is included in this package (see the last couple posts); it's not too old but it's not the newest either.

I'm reading the release notes on the version of the intel wifi drivers that were recently updated. I'm having a ton of issues with wireless freezing and wireless display. What all do I need to uninstall to do a ''clean'' install of the wireless drivers? Should I uninstall all the wireless display stuff also? What is the best order to reinstall it?

I update by installing on top of the older drivers. Always worked for me, plus the older versions (which have never been a problem for me) are still there to roll back to if the new drivers become an issue.

    • Updated Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth driver package to version 6.5.0.2100.

Please note that the Broadcom Bluetooth version 6.5 packages will, without your permission, install bloatware into the following directory - C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\EasyBits Games. You can safely remove the EasyBits Games folder and then run a registry scan (using third-party software) to remove any other evidence of EasyBits on your system.

Actual Broadcom Bluetooth driver components will have driver version numbers that will differ from the package version (which is 6.5.0.2100). However, the driver components should have a version number with the format of 6.5.X.XXXX, where X is a number.

    • Updated Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 + High-Speed Adapter driver to version 1.0.81.20579 (1.1 A2).

Please note that the actual download link to version 1.0.81.20579 (1.1 A2) is not available yet. I will update the first post once the executable file is available.

    EDIT:

Amendment? Intel 6200 wireless card users should used 13.5.x version of drivers.

My wireless card in my Envy17 2xxx is Intel 6200. When using the latest 14.2.x driver, transferring files between my laptop and my media server will almost always cause the system to freeze. A little search on the Intel's download site confirmed it. They recommend the users of this card roll back to 13.5.x driver. I rolled mine back and have not had that freezing issue again. Just FYI.

Update: Still get occasional freezes when accesssing wifi. Even with 13.5 driver. Perhaps, there is something amiss in my laptop?!

The latest version of the AMD graphics drivers for the DV6xxx series - 6770m has a bug with flash player hardware acceleration. Specifically video decoding.
Green screen on video streams (youtube) and then crash.

Either disabling hardware acceleration or rolling back your AMD graphics driver on here should do the trick for now..

That's pretty normal when using AMD switchable graphics with Intel in fixed mode.
There's a warning prompt that informs you about that every time you manually switch.
