    If anyone knows how to get ride of simplepass from Firefox that would be great.
    This malware software wants to inject itself into every browser. I managed to remove it from IE and Chrome but can't figure out where for Firefox.

    Anyone have ideas?

    Here are some driver updates. While others have posted a newer Renesas driver, here is the latest version (2.1.28.1) direct from Intel in case others want the latest direct from the vendor. I have also included links to the Realtek LAN, again posted above, but this is now downloadable directly from Realtek.

    Also, I have a DV6-6C38TX and it has the Atheros AR9485 Wireless LAN and the Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth adaptor, these hardware devices aren't even listed in the first post. The Atheros AR9485 driver is listed on the [Drivers] HP dm4-1XXX / dv5-2XXX / G32 / CQ32 / ENVY 14-1XXX (INTEL) thread, I am adding them here for completeness for any other DV6 owner who may also have these devices. Whether or not they get added to the first post or not is up to you, the Atheros Wireless LAN driver is the same version as the one listed on the previous linked thread and is up to date.

    The HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software is a fingerprint management/security application for BROWSERS... uninstall. For Windows logon, software is "Validity WBF DDK" in my case...

    you have listed the version numbers of these Realtek Card Reader drivers incorrectly, zujik.

    The Realtek web site says that the latest Realtek PCIe Card Reader driver is 6.1.7601.28117 and the latest Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader driver is 6.1.7601.30133. make the corrections by switching the version numbers to their rightful places in your post.

    AND the Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader v6.1.7601.30133 drivers are NOT WHQL certified (or WHQL Logo'ed) by Microsoft [its readme.txt file says (NoLogo) on there as proof]. If you install these new drivers that uses Realtek USB 2.0 card reader hardware on WinXP/Vista/Seven, you must click either OK or Yes to confirm installation when encountering the prompt that says the drivers "has not pass Windows logo testing" (on XP), or that Windows cannot verify the publisher of the drivers (on Vista/Seven).

    @justinkw1: ALERT! The Intel HD Graphics 8.15.10.2761 64bit ZIP download (win7_64_152612.zip) has the wrong INF file. For some unexplainable reason, Intel packaged an OEM INF file ( kit45406.inf) in the 64bit zip package when they should have packaged the igdlh64.inf file. The corresponding EXE v8.15.10.2761 downloads have the right INF files (igdlh.inf & igdlh64.inf) and the 32bit ZIP download has the igdlh.inf file. Users who use the 64bit zip download will have to edit the kit45406.inf file for the driver to install correctly, though that will break Microsoft's digital signature.

    AMD Catalyst 12.6 WHQL

    AMD issued a new WHQL-signed Catalyst driver. Catalyst 12.6 WHQL, along with Catalyst 12.7 beta, were released on Thursday. Catalyst 12.6 WHQL ships with a wide range of stability optimizations, while 12.7 beta ships with the same, plus performance optimizations for a wide range of games.

    With Catalyst 12.6 WHQL, AMD fixed several outstanding bugs such as GPUs with ZeroCore hanging when the system goes to S2/S3 sleep, certain CrossFire setups hanging after cutscenes in Call of Duty: Black Ops, display corruption in Heroes and Generals in DirectX 11 mode, CrossFire + Eyefinity with Radeon HD 7000 series GPUs resulting in BSOD errors, etc. Catalyst 12.7 beta includes all these, plus performance improvements for games, except that it lacks WHQL certification. Optimizations include up to 25% in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, 15% in Total War: Shogun, 10% in DiRT 3, 6% in Batman: Arkham City, and 3% in Battlefield 3.

    AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800 Tri-CrossFire configurations + Eyefinity no longer results in a BSOD when launching a DirectX application
    AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800 Eyefinity/Multiple Display configurations no longer results in a BSOD when using desktop applications
    AMD Catalyst 12.6 includes some additional fixes(not found in the AMD Catalyst 12.6 Beta) for the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 graphics cards for issues related to the GPU hanging when the system goes to sleep. Please ensure that your System BIOS is up to date. Some occurrences of this issue may be related to outdated System BIOS.

    I installed 12.7 on my Envy 17 2000 CTO and I'm getting thermal shutdowns. Going to do some maintenance to optimize my cooling - I'd really like to be on the latest version of drivers, rather than waiting for HP to update (and eventually - they'll stop).

    My plans - open up - clean vents, artic silver cpu/gpu, check hs contact on cpu/gpu - do slight bend on screws if not contact.

    AMD Catalyst 12.6 BETA (8.97.100.3 July 3) AMD Legacy Driver

    AMD has moved to the AMD Radeon™ HD 2000, AMD Radeon HD 3000, and AMD Radeon HD 4000 Series new driver support model. These updates will focus on resolving application specific issues and critical updates. The reason for the shift in support policy is largely due to the fact that the AMD Radeon HD 2000, AMD Radeon HD 3000, and AMD Radeon HD 4000 Series have been optimized to their maximum potential from a performance and feature perspective.

    CERT recently approached AMD with information pertaining to what they believed to be a possible video driver vulnerability exposed by non-default settings of the Microsoft® Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET). EMET is a security test tool that allows system administrators to create test conditions to validate correct behavior of system components or indicate potential weak points. The presence of an issue does not necessarily mean that this issue can be exploited in regular operation of a system. The default safety settings of the EMET do not cause the issue in question to occur.

    The AMD Catalyst 12.6 beta driver for the AMD Radeon HD 2000, AMD Radeon HD 3000, and AMD Radeon HD 4000 Series is designed to resolve a possible video driver vulnerability issue and to minimize the occurrence of system crashes.
