So I took the plunge and did a data-in-place upgrade to windows 8 pro today on my envy 17 3d. Just about all the drivers here worked except for the display drivers that are on the front page. I tried your drivers listed and they seemed to work just fine (no blue screens). However I can't seem to adjust my brightness, so hopefully they will fix that in a newer version.
-
Yes, same here with DV6T 6B00/ATI 6770M... no luck with 12.8, had to go back to 12.6. It's time for HP finally update the video drivers for this model.
-
The BlueScreen I mentioned was related with Windows 7.
Can you tell me if in Windows 8 and the above Catalyst 12.8 on your Envy 17 3D gives you the option of switchable graphics?
If yes, what drivers did you uses for the Intel Graphics on Windows 8? The ones from the Windows Update?
Thanks in advance -

Hello guys I am having hp dv6 6165tx laptop. And after upadating to 12.8 catalyst I faced the same BSOD. So, I simply go to bios and changed switchable graphics to dynamic. Now everything is fine but I can not overclock by sapphire trixx.

Found latest version of Ralink / Motorola Bluetooth + High-Speed Adapter BC8 driver version 4.0.4.334.
Free Driver Download for Realtek Motorola BC8 Bluetooth 3.0+HS Adapter - Hewlett-Packard HP ProBook 4530s (103C_5336AN/A0000402- SKU:A1D47EA#ACB)
I also uploaded the file myself without having you to register on Driveridentifier homepage.
slate-driver-s1081-win7-bluetooth-4.0.4.334.zip download - 2shared
P.S. The driver is newer, works on my dv6-6bxx with RT3592, however bluetooth still does not work with Nokia PC Suite -
I also noticed that the latest Broadcom Bluetooth 2070 driver fails to install in Windows 8. Finally, if you want to use the Validity Fingerprint Reader, do NOT use the latest HP SimplePass 2012. Instead, use HP SimplePass 2012 (5.4.0.402). This will install fine and you'll be able to enroll your fingerprints, etc. as before.
NOTE: These statements are based on a clean Windows 8 Pro x64 RTM install on an HP dv7t-6100 system. I did NOT do an upgrade installation, I just swapped hard drives and started from scratch.
Windows 8 runs fine from a clean install, the only caveat is it defaults to the integrated graphics because there's no working ATI driver. -
Hey guys,
I have kinda a problem/dilemma, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I ran into a bit of a problem yesterday when I was cleaning out my laptop/deleting old programs. Using revo uninstaller, i uninstalled 20-30 apps (that i never use) from my dvt6qe, one of which was rivatuner (not sure if relevant info). I rebooted my computer, and now I seem to have lost my discrete graphics card capabilities. The device manager does not list the 6770M, it only lists the HD graphics. I downloaded the hp video driver for my model, sp55092.exe, and tried reinstalling/uninstalling but it did not work. the 12.7beta driver also did not yield results. The device manager still does not list my 6770M. Is there a quick and easy way to fix this? I really don't want to do a clean install all over again, i have no way of backing up my data...I can provide more info if necessary...
Thanks so much for your help guys -
If you're on Windows 7, you should be able to get your discrete graphics driver back. I would uninstall the Integrated HD Graphics Driver. Then I would reboot and install an older package with the Intel SG driver:
sp54462.exe
sp53025.exe
See if one of those cures your switchable graphics problems. You should be able to see everything in Catalyst Control Center.
If everything is working properly, you can try upgrading to sp55092.exe again... or you can just update to the latest ATI reference driver (12.6) that works. -

- Updated: Realtek RTS5209 Card Reader driver, version 6.1.8400.28121.

Does the IDT driver update apply to the Pavilion m6?
-
The easiest way to check is just to run the file which unpacks the files. Don't run the actual installer though. Note the location that the files are unpacked to. Go to Device Manager. Under Sound, video and game controllers, right click on IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (or High Definition Audio device if just the generic driver is installed). Click on update driver software. Follow the prompts, inputting the file path the driver was unpacked to. If it is the correct driver, it will install. If not, it won't. -

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 PRO on my ENVY14-2xxx. I have used the Drivers that I found in this thred.
The Laptop works fine, BUT when I wake it up the fan start working much more and therefore noisier and louder.
WHen I do a reboot they are quiet again. And when puttinmg to sleep and woken backup, they start working heavily again.
HP'S cool sense is installed and not switched off, but switched to AUTOMATIC.
Any ideas what I could do to Keep the Laptop quiet?
BTW before I ran Windows 7 and this did NOT happen!
Thanks a lot in advance for any ideas.

Justin,
Just thought I'd let you know... that Authentec updated the HP SimplePass software package 2 days ago.
The new version # is: 6.0.100.252
The link in the master driver list is still correct:
http://support.authentec.com/Downloads/DownloadManager.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=27
It is fully functional with Windows 8 Pro x64.
I also installed the latest Leschcat Labs drivers for ATI + Intel Switchable on my HP Dv7t-6100 CTO system with the ATI Radeon HD 6770M.
Working awesome so far!

All of my drivers (including Leschcat) work fine... the only one that hasn't worked for me is the Broadcom Bluetooth 2070 Driver.
Anyone find one compatible with Windows 8? -
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59021.html -
I downloaded the re-pack version from here:
Broadcom bluetooth driver 12.0.0.2100 Windows 8(32/64)
It worked fine, but the download was slow as hell (~20 kb/s).
If anyone wants me to upload it to a file-sharing site, let me know.
It works fine on Windows 8 x64 Pro.
Thanks for the heads up! -
The first post has been updated with a LOT of new stuff...many of the updates in the coming days will be dedicated to adding support for Windows 8.

- Updated: Intel Wireless Display Software, version 3.5.34.0 for Windows 7 and Windows 8.
- Updated: Synaptics TouchPad / ClickPad driver, version 16.2.3.0.
- Added: Windows 8 compatibility for current versions of the Intel Chipset Device Software.
- Added: Intel WiFi Link driver and PROSet software package, version 15.5.3.43 for Windows 8.
Intel Wireless Display Software version 3.5.34.0 is being distributed by Toshiba, and the Intel WiFi Link driver version 15.5.3.43 is currently from Lenovo. Some products may not be supported in this Intel WiFi Link release (please post here if there are any installation issues encountered). Additionally, the download link to Intel Wireless Display Software version 3.5.32.0 is not up on the HP FTP yet; hopefully it will be within the next few days.
Looking ahead:
- Intel WiFi Link driver, version 15.5.4.45 for Windows 8.
- Broadcom Bluetooth software package, version 12.0.0.2100 (as you mentioned TDMVP73, it is sp59021)
- Broadcom Wireless LAN driver, version 6.30.59.26 (through Toshiba, possibly will not post due to lack of hardware support in Windows 8 but does have full compatibility with Windows 7)
- Broadcom Wireless LAN driver, version 6.30.59.49

I uninstalled my old Synaptics TouchPad driver and updated to this latest version (16.2.3.0) and there is a rather glaring bug in it for Windows 8 users.
Touching the far right edges of the TouchPad automatically brings up the Charms bar. This seems to happen quite frequently and is very annoying.
The problem does not exist in the previous driver version (16.0.5.1), so I downgraded to that for the time being. It works fine and is very stable.
I know that the Charms bar comes up automatically when you go to the top right or bottom right side of the screen, but that's not what I'm talking about. -
Anyone tried the official Catalyst 12.9 Beta released at the end of September?
Supposedly the now support naively Switchable Graphics with a new AMD technology named Enduro (similar to nVIDIA Optimus) plus Catalyst comes with new UI.
They do not work properly with Windows 7 64bit that I tried.
Can someone try them on Windows 8 and provide some feedback?
AMD Catalyst 12.9 Beta -
The latest Leshcat Drivers work fine... they are based on 12.9 Beta.
LINK
It will require you to disable DSE (Driver Signature Enforcement). This will put you in Windows 8 Test Mode, which really is nothing different than having a stupid watermark on your desktop.
If you want to remove the watermark, look up to my earlier post for a link on XDA Developers for OnThreeSeas 3.3. It will make your wallpaper normal again.
After about 2 weeks of testing, the Leshcat Drivers work pretty freakin awesome. If you don't want to disable DSE, you will probably have to wait a few more weeks for the official HP driver. -
However, I was referring to the official "Vanilla" 12.9 Beta Driver from AMD, as I am wondering if it finally runs native on HPs Laptops with switchable graphics -without modifications-.
Similar to nVIDIA Optimus this is what AMD Enduro is all about... -

[1. Modified driver]
1-1.Additional remediation was implemented for the following issues:
[ver 3.0.20.0's history, item 2-2]
2-2. When continuously starting & stopping the video capture with
a specific USB2.0 Camera, the specific USB2.0 camera cannot
restart the video capture.
1-2.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when performing the Common
Scenario Stress-with-IO test in WHQL, when connecting an external
USB hub to USB 3.0 Host Controller.
1-3.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when S3/S4->resume is executed
with the xHCI Backwards Compatibility Tree on enabling the driver
verifier.
1-4.The host driver clears USBLEGCTLSTS register after the host driver
obtained Ownership from Ver3.0.2.0Beta. Therefore, BIOS needs to set
"SMI on OS Ownership Enable" bit in USBLEGCTLSTS register to '1b'
if BIOS has set "HC BIOS Owned Semaphore" to '1b' and hands Ownership
off after S3/S4->Resume.
If a system using SMIB signal doesn't set "SMI on OS Ownership Enable"
to '1b' after S3/S4->Resume, there is a possibility that the host
driver cannot obtain Ownership and Device Manage shows the yellow bang
for USB 3.0 Host Controller.
In order to solve this issue, we modified the host driver to set
"HC BIOS Owned Semaphore" bit to '0b' forcibly if "HCHalted" bit of
USBSTS register is '1b'.
1-5.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when users connect the xHCI
Backwards Compatibility Tree to USB 3.0 Host Controller and operate all
the devices in the xHCI Backwards Compatibility Tree and uninstall USB
3.0 Host Controller in Device Manager.
##Note##
This issue only occurs on Windows XP. We have never seen this issue on
Windows Vista/7/Server2008R2.
1-6.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when the upper or lower filter
driver is installed to USB 3.0 Host Controller driver and the xHCI
Backwards Compatibility Tree is connected to USB 3.0 Host Controller.
1-7.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when the xHCI Backwards
Compatibility Tree is connected to USB 3.0 Host Controller and
operating all devices and a setting of a ISO device application is
changed on enabling the driver verifier.
1-8.A specific USB 3.0 Flash device isn't detected when a specific USB 3.0
Hub, which has the USB 3.0 Flash device connected, is connected to the
USB 3.0 Host Controller.
1-9.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs when more than one device with
the same VID/PID and serial number is connected at the same time on
enabling the driver verifier.
1-10.There is a possibility of BSOD when Hot plug operation is done with
the xHCI Backwards Comptibility Tree.
[2. Solved interoperability issue caused by function driver]
2-1.A specific web camera does not work by using the specific function
driver. This function driver sets the bad Frame Number when the
function driver starts the ISO transfer request.
2-2.There is a possibility that BSOD occurs if a function driver behaves
as causing a conflict between a transfer request and cancelling the
transfer for the same endpoint. We have never seen these drivers.
[3. Add function]
3-1.Added the registry of SymbolicName when a device is connected.

I have a HP Pavilion DV6 6053 and I am going to purchase the Windows 8 download tomorrow. I would like to get all the drivers etc for my laptop so that the laptop runs properly.
It would be perfect if I could download just 1 massive file with all the drivers etc in 1 zip file. Is this possible ? I have been reading some of this thread and there are so many links. I am going 100% Windows 8 and some of them may be designed for Windows 7 -
Almost everything you need is already on the first post. Download the latest version of everything. If you have a question, ask somebody and we'll be happy to help you out.
I have Windows 8 Pro x64 installed and it works great.
NOTE: On the graphics driver.... I would first install HP's ATI Package (sp58788.exe) and then download and install the latest 64 bit ATI reference driver (12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4) on top of it.
The HP ATI driver is very touchy and it was responsible for repeatedly crashing Firefox 16.01 on my system. After updating to the latest ATI reference driver (12.10), things are back to normal. -
Please note: in addition to the changes made today, I just added this to the first post.
- Updated: Intel HD Graphics 2000 / 2500 / 3000 / 4000 driver, version 9.17.10.2867 (15.28.7[.64].2867) / 6.14.0.3097 (Audio) for Windows 7 and Windows 8.
EDIT: Another one.

hi,
I bought Windows 8 there yesterday and its working pretty good. I am downloading some of the drivers here for HP Pavilion DV6 6053 but have some problems.
With simple pass installed I can use one swipe of my finger to get passed the lock screen and password screen but when I go to the desktop there is an icon on the taskbar with Simple Pass Launch Site ? With Windows 7 simple pass was always tidy away under hidden icons. Is there some way to get it out of the task bar and keep the functionality of finger print reader ? -
