Yes. For me DNA-AMD GFX 11.8.3-prev still the best. Your mileage may vary.

i clicked view logs there were no warnings, it should be fine right?

ok, i wanted to install 10.9 driver so i went into device manager and selected AMD 6770m and clicked on uninstall driver.

After that i just cant select the AMD card in the configure switchable graphics option.

Its almost like the card doesnt exist in my laptop, what do i do?

the performance is significantly improved now, im getting the same performance in GTA 4 as what i got with overclock at 875/950.

but the thing is, i cant select the integrated intel card from configure switchable graphics . ?

    hey mate,

i'd go with the 11.9 AMD Mobility drivers, they work fine for BF3, where as 11.10 has issues with texture flickering

    you can get this from

ATI Mobility Catalyst Display Driver 11.9 for Vista/Windows 7 Driver for Windows Vista / Windows 7 Free Download - Softpedia
(not sure if its 32 or 64bit version)

otherwise just do a search for AMD 11.9 mobility and you'll definitely find it somewhere.

The process I used to install was:

    1. Uninstall AMD / ATI catalyst install manager from windows using the standard AMD catalyst uninstaller (i.e. from control panel, add remove programs..)

    2. Install Driver Sweeper 3.2 from phyxion.net

    3. Reboot into safe mode, Run Driver Sweeper and clean the remnants of AMD display driver

    4. Reboot normally, and then Install HP latest official AMD display drivers 8.830.3.3000 (or a number something like that), downloaded from HP support website

    5. Reboot, Install AMD Mobility 11.9

    6. Reboot, and you're done!

The above process worked good for me, and eventually when AMD Mobility 11.11 comes out, I'll skip all that stuff and just try and install it directly over the 11.9 drivers.

Tho if that fails, I'll redo the above process with 11.11 at Step 5.

    Hope that helps :)

    hiya mate,

if you cant select intel card from switchable graphics option in CCC (catalyst control centre) you may have your BIOS graphics setting to "Fixed" instead of Dynamic.

If it is then switch it to Dynamic, in which case CCC should then enable you to switch the GFX, but it might mean in OpenGL games it wont use your 6770m but will use intel card instead (its a bug with Dynamic)

I prefer using Fixed as I always want to use my 6770m, because when its not gaming, it automatically downclocks to low voltage speeds of 100mhz/100mhz instead of 725/800

Anyway, hope that helps your issue

Btw, to access Bios, press Esc at boot up, then press F1 i think.

hmm in my experience its been fine and i've run it several times with no issues (tho only to uninstall AMD display drivers and nothing else)

im using the latest version - 3.2

but yeah, if other ppl have had problems, use it with caution or try to avoid using it unless u have to.

in my case i had to (graphics card wouldnt be detected by windows after standard catalyst uninstall), and coz i used it once and its ok, ive used it several times since

I used to have I-don't-know-what driver version and BF3 would just crash randomly and I would get this message "amd driver stop responding ..". Then I updated to 11.09 after reading this thread and I would still crash some times while playing BF3.
I thought it was a battlefield issue but I crashed while using photoshop as well... Does the bios have to do with anything? (F.13)

It's getting pretty annoying just disconnecting in the middle of a game... help?

Ok, I followed kharn's instruction and installed 11.10 (I don't play Battlefield 3, just want the latest driver). Now no monitoring programs can detect the version of my Catalyst, and the driver is still 8.830.6.3000 (in 11.10 it's 8.892...). Is that supposed to be normal?

Btw, in my CCC, the catalyst version is 2011.1012.1625.27603.

what is the current driver u're using? HP factory preinstalled?

You can't really blame AMD because its clearly stated in their website that..

    Hi!
I have a Pavilion with switchable grapichs. I have been trying to find out how to change my computer to fixed. Because the latest driver from HP is crap, and I have to play Battlefield on low settings, and even then I have a delay in my movement. So can anybody please help me with the info/link to information so I can fully start bennefitting the power of my 6770m. Thanks!

This is the first time i heard about the DNA drivers. What is better to use DNA 11.10.1-prev2 or the official 11.10 drivers? Right now i am using the official 11.10 drivers, i do not have terrible results, but if i could get better why not.

Hey bobsev, you have to update your bios with this link:
HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors) HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Make sure you power adapter is plugged in, and after you install the BIOS update, keep tapping F10 as your computer is starting up and it'll take you to the BIOS settings, there change your Graphics Mode to "FIXED." Then you can right click on your desktop and go to "Configure Switchable Graphics" and select the high powered gpu.

I say stick with official 11.10 if u have no problem with it. DNA 11.10.1-prev2 have problem running OpenGL application and u need to disable force driver signature to install it. The 11.8.3 in other hand, have proper driver signature.
Lmao.. show us some screenshots of the error u get and the source u downloaded the AMD driver so we could identify the problem and help you.

It is also clearly stated in their AMD Product Compatibility table that entire 64xx series except 6410D and the entire 67xx series isn't supported at all.

So don't be surprised if it is giving you trouble. You have to accept the risks for using unsupported drivers.

    Hi mjl2116
Thanks allot for the help! I downloaded the BIOS and installed it. But when I tapped F10 in the startup I did not get any choices of changing my graphics. Actually I got quite few choices avalable... Is there something I'm missing? and might it be the wrong BIOS, I got a Pavilion dv6-6071eo, or doesn't that matter? :)

    Hi

I have an ati 6770m in an HP Pavilion dv6-6023tx notebook, running the official hp 11.8 driver release but i want to get the best performance for BF3.

So Ive looked at the guide from kharn83 but the link to the 11.9 driver is a 32 bit one i need one for 64bit windows, can anyone provide me with a link to any tested and working 11.9 drivers for my hardware mentioned?

Also is 11.9 the most stable leak or is the a 11.10 that's working properly around?
