Hey I clicked that link you posted the benchmarks were done on a macbook.. will the fps be better on the HP Dv7t qe or will they be even lower.. it doesn't say what resolution it was tested either from an educated guess I would think 1080p

And you have options for Overclocking a bit without any worries.
And maybe more if you could find ways to keep it cool... -
I will be recording gameplay and posting videos on youtube when I can, I actually play fifa 12 on both ps3 and xbox 360 and I consider myself to be pretty good so we will see how the PC treats me -
Does anyone else playing Arkham City, have FPS drops that really annoy when entering new areas and in general?
The 6770m should be able to play this game at least in DX9 without any issues... -
Will updating the video drivers improve the performance?
My laptop is new, and I haven't update anything from HP's website. -
The latest 11.11c says it fixes the terrain corruption with BF3 (I haven't played long enough to say).
Now the older drivers (maybe older than yours) didn't have corruption but had lower FPS than the new drivers in BF3.
Saint's Row and Arkham City have huge DX11 issues that have not really been solved by the latest.
You're fine as is, unless you have crashes, problems (if it isn't broken...)
-
yea you should always update the graphics drivers, I got like 15% more fps on most games after installing these new "performance drivers" -
What's a good 3D benchmark? I want to test the performance of my laptop. I don't want to purchase a game until my finals is finished(though it's really tempting).
Specs:
I5-2430
Radeon 6770M
8GB RAM -
3dmark vantage and 3dmark 11
-
Here are the results of the benchmarks. I use 3dmark vantage. My laptop didn't got passed 30 FPS with the default settings.
-
I used to get the same results as you when I had the original HP drivers, but then as I said I installed the new 11.11 drivers and they gave better game performance, this is what I get now
AMD Radeon HD 6770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Hewlett-Packard 1657 score: P7444 3DMarks -
Where can I get the 11.11 drivers? The hp website only shows still version 8.882.2.3000 for my laptop's model. Here's the link.
AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver HP Pavilion dv6t-6b00 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
Also do I just run the .exe file when I'm installing the video drivers? I don't have to uninstall the two graphics drivers? -
I first installed 11.11a on top of HP drivers
AMD Catalyst 11.11a "Performance Driver" (8.911.1 November 18) - Guru3D.com Forums
then I installed 11.11b then 11.11c (perfomance drivers)
Videocards - AMD - ATI Drivers Section - Guru3D.com Forums
I dont know If u can just install 11.11c and skip a and b
and no I never uninstalled any drivers before installing new ones -
Wait, we have a different laptop but the same graphics. Will that work on my laptop?
-
of course it will work..
if u click on "supported cads" you will see that the "Radeon 6700m series" is the first one to be supported -
I installed the latest from HP because I've already downloaded that. Here's the result. AMD Radeon HD 6770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-2430M Processor,Hewlett-Packard 17FB score: P6410 3DMarks
It has improved by a score of 729. Tomorrow I'm going to try to download those files that you posted. Thanks! -

Unfortunately sanjie you won't be able to install 11.11 from AMD. Because you have a 61xx model, your computer has switchable graphics. AMD does not support drivers for switchable graphics systems. They only support the 6770M on regular systems.
HP's drivers are specifically tailored for switchable graphics systems.
Try DNA drivers, they're modded AMD drivers that are made compatible with switchable graphics. -
Thank you for informing me. :| I just hope my laptop can run the games I'm planning to play. -
You can straight install to 11.11c. Regarding switchable driver, don't remove HP driver when you install AMD driver.. just overwrite everything.

@sanjie
Can you find any option to change switchable to Fixed in BIOS? -
O
Yes I do have and I already change it to fixed. -

Can someone help me here? I tried to install the one posted in here. AMD Catalyst 11.11C "Performance Driver" (8.911.1 November 30) - Guru3D.com Forums
I checked my driver details and it's still the older version. -
for me, 20 fps is not playable. try lower resolution and youll see the difference and dont wanna play with 20 fps again, trust me ;-) -

dude, seriously, how can you possibly like 20fps?
I find the game choppy and slow if it runs at like 30 fps(which is what it runs on consoles) at 20 fps, i would stop playing -
naturelover12321 Notebook Consultant
how are the 11.11c drivers for BF3?
-
-
I tried updating my drivers and I found a post that has a similar problem.
That's exactly what's happening when I'm trying to install this drivers. AMD Catalyst 11.11c Perf Driver download from Guru3D.com -
8.683.2.0? Can you list your spec?
-
Oh sorry about that. My drivers version is 8.882.2.3000
Specs:
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core i5-2430
Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB
The one I quoted was similar to what happened to me. I tried to install but nothing happened. -
You have to uninstall the old drivers first, otherwise it won't work. It will detect drivers on your system and won't install the new ones.
-
So I'll uninstall both my graphics drivers, then install right away?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk -
No, you need to have HP driver before you can install any driver from AMD.
-
How exactly am I going to install it? Like I said, running the .exe won't update the drivers.
-
-
Yes, but it only happens when I try to install the drivers not released by HP. I have the latest drivers by HP.
-
he's stating revert back to a previous HP driver in order to update the AMD driver..
I used to be able to make my computer run faster but then I took an arrow in the knee -
Can I install an older version on top of the new one?
-
You have to uninstall the old one first. The new one won't install over the HP drivers. Run Catalyst Install Manager, uninstall the display driver, then run the new package, and install only the display driver, uncheck everything else.
-
Ok, Now I have the 11.11b installed but in my C:AMD folder I have this folders.
AMD_Catalyst_11.11b_Windows_Vista_7
AMD_Catalyst_11.11c_Windows_Vista_7
The 11.11bb was the most recent one that I successfully installed, and the 11.11c was the one that I got errors. Can I just delete the 11.11c folder? -

Hey all,
Has anyone with a 61xx device been having some odd issues with PowerPlay and the 11.9 HP drivers? All of this is on fixed mode.
When I don't have PowerPlay enabled, games really suffer. For example, BF3 runs extremely poorly on low settings, almost as if it were running on the integrated chip or something. Minecraft also lags and stutters, something that shouldn't be happening for a game with decently weak graphics on the 6770M.
Now, if I turn on PowerPlay, things start to act differently. BF3 and other games run beautifully--the game is smooth, runs on High settings, with good FPS.
Minecraft, meanwhile, plays extremely well with PowerPlay--but consistently, it crashes 3-5 minutes in (ATI driver fails to respond and recovers). No matter what settings I use, the game is bound to crash. Sometimes I even get a blue screen error, related to the driver failing.
Why is PowerPlay messed up on this card? What can I do to fix this? -

dont know about that mincraft issue but the powerplay thing happens to me too
-
I have a question; most of the laptops here seem to be be running the 6770 GPU. The laptop I plan to buy has similiar specs as the dv6tqe, but it carries a 6750. How different are these cards? I have done notebook check - but I'd like to hear someone's opinion. Thanks!
-
Turn PowerPlay back on and follow this step with MSI Afterburner to turn off PowerPlay power saving feature.

I've just installed the latest HP drivers, and for some reason skyrim seems to lag. Does any one have problems with skyrim and the latest HP drivers.
-
I'm also getting pretty bad lag with skyrim on the latest hp drivers. I've installed two updated hp drivers on top of older ones without uninstalling first so maybe this what's causing my problem? I'm going to try uninstalling and re-installing to see if that helps anything.
