In town you gonna need to reduce the particles and shadow at real minimum or turn it off completely to get decent framerate because this game use the CPU to process those stuffs and it is not optimized for multi-cores processor.

This is my current setting --> Skyrim.zip

Extract both files into ..\Documents\My Games\Skyrim (backup both of your files first).

Change the value of sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series" from dxdiag output if you're using HP driver. Make both files "read only" to prevent launcher overwriting the setting or you can bypass the launcher by running tesv.exe directly.

    I'm using AMD v8.930 (Nov 18) btw.

What settings do you have, I have it maxed - that means everything on Ultra, or High, if Ultra not available, with every draw distance Maxed. I do have a lot of High-texture mods, but I get about 25's outside.

I go it to run smooth now. Thanks every one. By the way 8.930 is still a beta driver but does run smooth with BF3.

If you want to install v8.930 please get Nov18 release as others are quite problematic.

Would anyone happen to know why I would suddenly experience extremely low main processing power despite making no changes and using my dv6t (i7-2630QM) in exactly the same manner I've used it for months? I've been using the program ThrottleStop. It works as a CPU monitor, among other things, and it used to display something between 1800 and 2200 MHz average... All of a sudden early tonight I couldn't break 900 MHz. Anyone else experience something like this? Any fixes?

Hi! What about performance in your laptops with ANNO 2070?

PD: Why are some of you getting more than 7300 gpu points on Vantage test and I'm only getting about 7150-7200 points? With the same memory and core overclocking.

I don't know... this is kind of an annoying situation. This morning, I woke up and found that the CPU clock speed was still down. I went ahead and restarted the thing and it went back to decent (non-gaming levels). Hopped into Skyrim, ran Skyrim fine again. I'm not sure what the problem was... or is. Basically, if it happens again, I'll post again. Thanks for your help.

Hi, im using catalyst 11.11 (8.911.0.0)

I see that the game runs smoothly with the first or second level of zoom but if you play with the farthest view the game becomes a bit unplayable when cities are large. Fraps says that game is running about 30 fps but it is not smooth...

Changing specs from high to medium and low i do not notice major improvements...

Perhaps it is because of the i3 proccesor. xD

I've been playing skyrim on the dv6t quad edition 2.2ghz that was supposed to be cancelled with hp without any issues, I clicked ultra settings with every reflection of the water, AA off, 1366 x 768 resolution and it is smooth, puts my xbox 360 or ps3 to shame

**I'm waiting for hp to send me my dv7, should be here this week

I'm having issues with Skyrim. There will be random freezes for a few seconds then there will be a white screen. When I press ctrl alt delete, it will show that Skyrim is not responding.

    Setup
    HP DV6T
    i5 2430
    windows 7 64
    Radeon 6770

I was using 11.11b, then I tried 11.11a but it still crashes. Any help would be great. It's really frustrating that I pay $60 for a game I can't play normally.

wow I just found out that playing games on "coolest mode" gives u less performance.. I was playing sc2 and getting ~75 fps, then I changed to "performance mode" and fps went up to ~100, same thing for skyrim, performance mode gave me about 15-20% more fps O_O

so If ur playing on coolest mode and want the best performance u might wanna change ur coolsense settings and get a cooling pad, otherwise it gets hot.

The only trouble I'm having with Skyrim is using it with Switchable Graphics... if I go into BIOS and switch to fixed I can get it working fine, but I would prefer to use dynamic. Any solutions?

I did installed the update. The weird thing is it doesn't crash when I just had a new install of graphics drivers. I can play all day without crashes, then it would start crashing again the next day.

I tried to use the latest HP drivers and it didn't crashed yesterday. Today is the second day, I hope it won't crash again.

I believe you can set the specific skyrim.exe file to run with the Amd GPU, I know I read it somewhere, that's if you want to keep your BIOS setting to dynamic, not sure why you would want to though.

I run on fixed, high performance gpu, cool sense to coolest mode, and I can run skyrim ultra-high settings with no issues, I messed around with fraps this morning and I was getting 70 max fps, average 60 fps, very smooth, and that is with the 2k HD, sky and realistic npc clothes and blood mods from skyrim nexus website, it looks amazing I'll post some screenshots tonight if I get a chance

My graphics run on fixed mode.

This is the settings I'm following
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-pavilion-notebooks/624428-skyrim-performance-tweaks.html

It runs on 60 FPS. I'm going to try to run it on coolest mode since I haven't tried that.

I've been using 12.1 from leshcat blog IT Tips & Tricks: Catalyst 11.12 and 12.1 UnifL's for Switchable Graphics and in skyrim I've been getting around 50-60 fps inside house, and also in open environment, and also I have plenty of HD mods.
Do not install these drivers over the other drivers do a clean install. clean with driver sweeper, and also when installing make sure you change your bios settings to default. Install them with Dynamic graphic settings then when finished you can change your graphics back to fix mode. As to bf3 i don't have the game so i wouldn't be able to tell you if there's problems.

I will install Leshcat's 12.1 tomorrow and test it out for anyone curious about it regarding BF3.

Merry Christmas by the way everyone!

@Roxaos: I know 8.882 crashes with BF3 but it's a LOT more stable then other driver's I've tried with it. I know it sucks, but bear with it I guess, at least for now.

Just got 3 new games today. After many issues in installing Bioshock 2 on my DV6T quad, I finally found a way around an error and getting my graphics card running. I dont have any of the updated drivers, BIOS, or really anything changed for the dynamic graphics problems.

One issue that I ran into with Bioshock was that it was quite laggy. When I moved the mouse around, the environment wouldn't respond correctly, everything changed really slowly, and it just looked poorer than it should. I tried moving the graphics down from high to low, but basically the same problem still existed. My question is, is this due to my radeon graphics card still not kicking in? What should I do to fix it? Because the Radeon 6770 that I have in my laptop is much better than what is required for the game.

Also, another problem that I found with Bioshock is that it requires the game to be in the CD drive for me to play it. Although all of my other games do not require that. Is there any fix for that.

    Thanks for the help
