You must be on the Intel GPU, switch to AMD GPU and then try again

I just confirmed that iZ3d works for both the 6770m and Intel 3000. Sorry that you (were?) having this problem. No system hangs, and start-up is normal!

The Natural Mod for Crysis makes performance better by adding more light to scenes and lowering detail of far objects so it seems better and performance increases quite a bit. But you have to try it to see if you like it. And keep in mind that you will have to uninstall the mod when playing Crysis 2, because there are some areas where Crysis 2's light get so bright with it that you can't see anything.

How did you get it working? Which version did you download and what setting did you use. I really want to get this working.

I installed the updated Radeon Drivers, and downloaded this: 3D Driver Download - Stereoscopic 3D Monitors for 3D Gamers - iZ3D

    Pretty sure it's 1.12
Good Luck. Like I said before though I don't understand how this affected your desktop as it only interferes with DirectX. But also what is great about it is that you can monitor FPS's with or without 3D, good alternative to FRAPS without the slowdown.

How do you install the Natural Mod? I'm using crysis through steam and I think the installation path got screwed up, which path should I assign for the installation? and in the case that I already have a mod installed (it came as a default with the download) how do I get rid of that one (assuming I have to).

Mine is still not working :(
It installs fine, runs fine, and now restarts fine, but if I try right clicking the desktop I get a infinite loading wheel. I guess its not that important anyway.

The Natural Mod 2.0.2 is easily uninstallable via WINDOWS Uninstall Programs!
Also the path to Steam games will be...(usually) in Programs (x86 for 64-bit) -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> and locate your game folder. If you can't find it google it.

    If I help please REP.

I do not understand why it's not working for you. It's really weird that it is not working. I hope you find a solution to the problem not for the sake of 3D itself (which would be cool) but because I would like to know what's going on.

After reading through the IZ3D forums I found out that the driver is incompatible with Comodo Firewall. I don't think its worth switching back to one of the other firewalls. I have used Zone Alarm before, but is it really worth it just to game in Red/Cyan 3d?

    EDIT:
Instant gratification won. I switched to ZoneAlarm and IZ3D works perfectly.

How important do you feel it is to be running a external (i.e. not Windows) firewall? What anti-virus software, malware, etc... are you running.
I have the Notron Suite that came with the PC on right now. Do you think it's good enough?

At least you found out what was happening, so what was going on, was Comodo blocking the IZ3d Driver and thus stopping Windows from starting normally?
    Strange.

Having a good Firewall/Anti-Virus is definitely important. I'm not a fan of the big name companies like Norton and McAfee. I'm guessing the Norton Suit is a trial, after that you should get a license for it or go with free ones. I [now] use ZoneAlarm and Avast. I have never had any serious issues using this combination. (I switched over to Comodo when I got this new laptop, but now I switched back) I do some "questionable" things and require extra protection, so protection is important. The free ones use less system resources (from what I understand) so it should improve your systems performance.

Yeah, I figured that I might as well use the 15-month service they gave me and then switch to Avira, AVG, etc like I've had on my old system. I'm not big fan of McAfee or Norton (which make to so hard to do things and take up so many resources without letting me choose what I want). But I never thought of having a dedicated firewall. I guess it's because I don't really do anything that might require it, a smart user (prevention) is better than a cure. And it's really funny that the first time I had a serious Virus issue (like when I was 11, lol) McAfee was infected and couldn't delete itself, so I had to use another program...

The i7-2630m (or higher) and the 6770m kill GTA IV!
    Here is the Benchmark:
Keep in mind that Textures do not have a "Very High" option, everything else that does has it turned on, and the only reason I can't make the view distance any farther (not really needed because I can see so much anyway) is that GTA itself won't let me go above what I have without turning down the other settings because it says the performance will suffer. I am sure there is a mod to manually configure everything, but right now I couldn't care less as it looks amazing.

Steam was doing a sale for EA week and I bought Crysis Warhead for 5 bucks, I ran it on "enthusiast" on everything and no anti-aliasing. Frames were smooth as a baby's bottom.

Crysis Warhead is more Optimized than is Crysis 1, so naturally this is what I was expecting. Thanks for the post. But I assume you have a DV6 cause I don't think it would be as smooth on a 1600x900 screen.

You are using the Intel 3000 integrated Graphics chipset. Swtich to Radeon 6770m via Catalyst Control aka "switchable graphics" - and I'm pretty sure you're using it because my version of Intel Graphics Adapter is "8.830.6.2000" whereas 8.17.10.1070 is my version for 6770m

I actually got my driver for AMD from GTA benchmark whereas I got the Intel via Device Manger, and when I checked Device Manager I also have exactly the same thing as you do. The only thing I would say is that maybe your settings are set to save battery life and power, either in AMD Catalyst, in Power Options or somewhere else.

What do you see in Catalyst, I have this:

    Driver Packaging Version 8.83.6.2-110412a-117442C-HP
    Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
    2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1134

How in the world did you manage this in warhead (crysis isn't working because of a problem on steam's end)? I took the same deal (except I took the maximum edition with crysis+warhead for 10 dollars) and I'm only getting 25-35 frames with everything on gamer at max res, and no AA.

Am I missing some amazing driver or software that boosts the 6770's performance up a ton?

You know that a HP AMD driver since the root is HP.

Also the latest 11.4 driver version substrings are

Curious as to how you got those substrings (I have the Radeon HD 6770M) as I just downloaded the newest catalyst software from ATI and mine are:

    Driver Packaging Version 8.83.6.2-110412a-117442C-HP
    Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
    2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1134

    OpenGL Version 6.14.10.10600
    Catalyst Control Center Version 2011.0405.2218.38205

Also any idea on where to get the newest display drivers?

Edit: Just checked and for some reason the intel graphics and the 6770M are using the same driver version according to Device Manager and System Information: 8.830.6.2000, is it supposed to be like this? Any advice?

Cause the individual downloads in the AMD site, only updates the CCC, which doesn't contain the graphic drivers.

But I noticed something interesting with HP AMD drivers, since you happen to have later version than that currently on HP site or the NBR.

Where's the thread? I believe the update for the gpu came through windows update, I'm still wondering why the intel graphics and the 6770m are using the same driver version. Also wondering how this guy manages to play warhead on enthusiast, I'm with the other guy that said he's getting 30 frames on gamer when he's playing on the snow levels, this is with the high-performance gpu on.

There is no thread, I misspelled trend.

The HP AMD drivers are given as a set, which contains both AMD and Intel. That why at front it only shows the AMD driver version. You need to go system information to see the actual driver version for the Intel.

At this point of time, there is no point of installing amd and intel graphic drivers separately. Just install the HP AMD driver.
    --------

    As for crysis,
Either he did something special to his card or you have a borked up driver install which is common with amd driver upgrades instead of a clean driver install.

Still curious about how people are getting so much performance out of this card, while it seems like something is throttling my performance.

I don't know how I could update mine, I got the latest from HP and AMD. I also can't play smoothly when I max everything out on WARHEAD. Where should I check for updates?

Even with the updates, the 6770m is not engineered to support Crysis at Maximum Settings. It's a hardware bottleneck if you may, not a drivers one.

Just so you won't get your hopes high.

but hey i still love this card, it is an excellent bang for the buck.

I got my laptop yesterday and was playing SC2...Yesterday I got ~100 fps on LOW settings, and today I'm playing and my FPS fluctuates from 30-50...any ideas on why the fps drop?

I'm don't really understand the tech-y stuff...I'd appreciate it if you put it into newbie words :)
