What cashback do you get if you search "HP Direct" on shopping and click the cashback link and find HP Direct?

Edit: If your first result is "HP Q6002A Yellow Toner Cartridge", HP is on the 7th page. Compuvest has roughly 100 prices for the same product apparently, lol.

    25%..

I'm really debating on whether or not I should get the gift card. I don't want to be screwed $300 because that's against bing cashback rules.

Keep trying. Did you clear your cookies? Try a different browser. I had fits with the Best Buy Bing a week ago. I had to keep plugging away at it but I got the % everyone was looking at after awhile.

    Wow, it worked!
For those who are also having trouble, I was using firefox w/adblock. It worked on IE with no blockers. (when's the last time I ever used IE???)

How will I know if it is actually 25% though? I'm pretty weary since on the homepage of BCB it shows up at 10%.

I use Firefox and had to turn off my adblocker.

I went to Bing and searched "Hp Direct" and the first link provided 25% cashback.

So it works, central time zone here (Missouri), I'm sure it works for other people too.

Available in any amount from $20 to $500
    Add a personal message
    E-mailed directly to the recipient
    No fees, no expiration date

It is my impression that we won't have to wait till the mail comes. We can use the code they'll email?

I think I will order 2 $500 of those. If you get the ones that go up to $2000 you have to mail it.
edit: http://www.shopping.hp.com/store/product/product_detail/VGCPS1 or some other random design, btw.

anyone found anything on bing's terms that says we can't buy gift cards?

I've used it a few times for a few different stores. If the Bing click through window where you log in says 25% it'll be 25%. It should show up within 24 hours after you make your purchase. Bing Cashback has decent customer service. Just make screen dumps of your click through and purchase pages. Shouldn't need them though.

I'm interested if the BCB does work for gift cards. It's supposed to be site wide.

    Let me get this straight:
It's a win-win situation. We buy the gift cards with 25% BCB, so it's basically $750 for $1000 in cards. Then we buy the laptop with either a 10% discount or a 25% discount. So take off another 100-250 dollars. We'd get both, right? Therefore, it's going to cost at the most $650, and at the least $500 for the base configuration.

Or is my reasoning wrong somewhere???

    I don't know if I'm following you...
Our plan is to buy a gift card with BCB THEN buy the laptop with the giftcard, using BCB or education discount on the laptop as well.

Are you saying this won't work? Or that we can't use the $250 from BCB that we'll get to buy the laptop itself?

You can't use a gift card on purchases with bing cashback but there's nothing that says you cant buy a giftcard with bing cashback.

    For example:
    bcb + giftcard = envy 14 <--- won't work
bcb + money = giftcard <-- don't know if it will work

You can't double up i.e. buy 25% off BCB for gift card, then get BCB when buying with a gift card it says here:

    Bing Shopping

Ok cool. I've never used BCB before, but I see no harm in trying it. If it works then we have a nice deal, but if it doesn't, then we'll just pay for the laptop like we were planning to do anyway...just with a gift card.

I don't see any way that this is worse than buying regularly.

I don't think the "buying a giftcard with BCB and then use BCB again on a purchase" will work ...

If it does work ... then what will stop you from buying a giftcard WITH your giftcard.

I'm thinking that the 25% won't last much longer since it is off their home page. Plus this way I will be able to use 25% BCB + 10% education discounts.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
I'm not going to get a gift card. I'm happy with my minimum of 10% off and the +1 year of accident coverage my shiny credit card gets me if it pays for the whole purchase. :)

We're not "buying a giftcard with BCB and then use BCB again on a purchase"

we're buying a giftcard with bcb then use student discount + giftcard on the purchase. or the $200 coupons they give out.

You CAN'T use bing cashback to buy a gift card. I already had this idea when it was 25% about 2 weeks ago, so i decided to email bing before i do it, and they emailed me back saying that you can't buy a gift card using bing cashback.

Those might be a different case where the store is offering those gift cards for Bing cash back, but i emailed specifically about gift cards from hp direct. So all I'm saying is they told me that you can't, so i wouldn't take the chance because i doubt you can return a gift card.
