Why ask the same question 3 times, instead of using google. Cant people do what they want with their money without getting the 3rd degree.
-
yeah i have yet to receive a delay email or have mine ship
-
The Core i7-820QM doesn't have a GPU in it like the i5-520M and i5-540M. It instead has 4 cores instead of two (for a total of 8 threads instead of 4 like the i5's) There is no switching of graphics... the only GPU he has is the Radeon.
-
Mine was supposed to ship yesterday and I have gotten no notification either way of what's going on. Will probably try to call HP and ask them what's going on later today and see what they say. Hopefully it's already shipped but just not updated.
Congrats to the new members of the hp envy club! -

what was your question?

google "hp discount codes, its not that hard to do, much easier then asking the same question 4 times and being rude about it

GOddamn, THANK YOU for the quick answer and for the expired slickdeals.com link earlier in that 2nd gen thread.
When shall we expect discount codes?Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Hi, when I ordered mine the current discount code was not working online, I told the hp sales person on the phone if he can find me a code, he said he will ask his supervisor, i waited for 10-15mins, and he got a diffirent code that works. It only works for a customized hp envy.
I would suggest call hp, order thru phone and try your luck for them to find you a code
Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Currently I don't believe there are any discount codes you can just put in online other than promotions that HP is currently running (free printer, etc). There will likely other ones in the future but how much they will be for and when they are exactly coming is unknown to the best of my knowledge. Doing a search for HP coupon codes every now and then should help you find out about any new deals coming up.
-
My questions are below. It seems that my post was lost in oblivion
-
Its official, the anticipation has gotten to some of us...
-
Have you tried calling to place an order with one of these codes? They expire after a certain number of uses, but folks have been able to get the codes applies by calling in orders. Not sure if they are honoring them currently, but it's your best bet until a new code comes out that can be input on their website.lookingtobuy said: ↑GOddamn, THANK YOU for the quick answer and for the expired slickdeals.com link earlier in that 2nd gen thread.

HP Sales personal usually decides that, so I really can't tell you. As I said in my previous post you can try to call HP Sales Department and see if they can do something for you (have the coupon from slickdeals ready). What he might have meant was that the 500GB is made of two 250GB platters. This means it has few performance advantages over a 250Gb model, although it will be faster than the 320.Pitabred said: ↑...say what now? I think you be a bit misinformed, sir. I will try to apply my 50 coupon to getting an upgrade from 320 to 500, and hopefully they will either say yes or say no and give me a $100 not to do it

Your question was answered a while ago. Why don't you go out and actually do some work to find one, if you don't find it, it's not there. Someone would've answered you by now if one was going around.lookingtobuy said: ↑Okay for the last time, let me stop beingannoying to you all.

Uh, no? Not at all. They just try to sell you on various upgrades, and you need to make sure you know what you want, and what you don't need.
And when you talk to them over the phone, I don't think you will be telling them what options I want, unless you are buying me a computer. If that's the case, thank you. -

It will be a more interesting Chip ones the silicon gets tweaked and the avarage power consumtions drops further away from the 35 Watt. This first batches of Chips really operate too close to the max TDP.
Only Quad Cores get 45Watt TDP and they really need it.Click to expand...Click to expand...

Awesomeness, cant wait till mine arrives, will wait till SSDs to get cheaper and switch out the 500gb 7200rpm drives for one. I also bought 4gb PC10600 (2 dimm) of Hyper X ram selling on newegg to add on to my laptop with the cas latency of 7 (not 9). You can also get a 1TB OCZ SSD off newegg right now for a measly 3,800.00 (thats a steal).3dstormstudio said: ↑Hi Guys, I confirm to see USB 3.0 on system device manager

The hard drive bay, to my knowledge, only holds a single 2.5" drive or two 1.8" drives. And that's it. As far as I can tell the 620M looks like it performs in line with what would be expected. Only time it isn't faster is when its a GPU oriented test which is normal since it has the same GPU as the 540m and 520m.
Thanks for the link to the notebookcheck article; I hadn't seen that one yet. -
God the anticipation is killing me. So far the Beat version I ordered but cancelled over CS information is still in production with ship date of 22nd and the new order of the reg 15 is slated for the 29th but is in production as well. Now its just a waiting game AAAAaarrrrrggggg

Awesome that people are getting these, I can't wait for the initial benchmarks on this system.
I called HP today to complain about the delay (and for them telling me that it shipped already) and the woman still told me that it has already shipped and I would get the laptop on Monday. She couldn't give me a tracking number but said I could see the tracking number by Friday.
I don't know what is going on up there in HP but lets hope that I get my computer on Monday (my original date was 1/18). I also got shot down on getting the slice for $125 since my system had already shipped. -
weird how do they know its shipped if they don't have a tracking number?CWasko36 said: ↑Awesome that people are getting these, I can't wait for the initial benchmarks on this system.

I would like to see how the radeon 5830 compares with the geforce 360m ( I know they have listings about both cards on notebookcheck, but niether cards have been benchmarked yet, hence the * by the cards)

Okay, well I was only talking about this article as it is the only 620M bench I have come accross till now. I just think the little bit of additional performance you can get out of the 620M is not worth the money and obviously something is wrong with the power consumption as it should be no higher than with the i5 540M. We need aditional tests to see if it is normal for 620M or just one weird sample, which it probably is. 1mb more Cache should change the power budget by a really really small amount and afaik is the chip the same in every other aspect as the i5 with 35Watt TDP.dalingrin said: ↑I should have been more specific. The GPU overclocking works not as well on the 620M as there is less Power left to overclock the GPU. In most scenarius you would use the HD 5830 anyway. Still those 10% more clockrate doesn't really translate into 10% more speed and the money you pay for at HP is insane unless you really don't care what it costs.
Both tweaked silicon might get the 620M closer to the 10% real speedup until then I would invest in faster RAM as this is the Bottleneck of those chips. In a few applications just the reintegration of the memory controller on DIE will boost performance by 10% or more with Sandy Bridge. That really sucks. Memory access is slower than on the Core 2 Duos over the FSB only the Bandwidth is a better. But Bandwidth as little impact on usual Desktop workload like games and stuff. -
The main benefit I see to the integrated GPU is watching movies on battery. Stuff that the GPU can accelerate, so lower power use for the overall package, and you keep the 5830 turned off. That's what I'm most interested in it for at least.duskkk said: ↑Okay, well I was only talking about this article as it is the only 620M bench I have come accross till now. i guess i'll run 3dmark with the stock drivers out of the box. and see if the graphics are switchable with the current drivers... doubtful though. i really need to do some hospital visits this afternoon, but don't want to miss the delivery truck... will be up late after church tinkering with the notebook. still undecided about returning it and getting the ASUS g73JH.

not sure on eSata, but yes, its 128bit, not 256. still supposedly faster than the 4870. Its either a 5830 and a 1336x768 screen for gaming, or a 5870 with a 1920x1200 screen.
