SKI,
That is a hard question. I've never seen that sort of error in the HDX. You might need to install the official F40E BIOS before installing the modded F40E.
So install the original F40E and then the modded BIOS. There might be a missing component that the official F40E has.
I believe most of us who have used the modded F40E BIOS were already on the official F40E.
-
-
And that's what I meant. Unfortunately, I have installed still do not know which version of "SKI". Am I really so hard to understand?
Thank you 2.0!!! -
LOL -
I understand everything, no one here understands me.
This is sometimes to despair.
With my English, this is definitely related to nothing!
I brew a therapist? -
I'm in the same boat as you 2.0 haha, what?
-
.
I speak English and mess that up too. At least a third of my post count is clarification of something I posted before. -

It should look like:
Brauche ich einen Therapeuten ?
Do I need a therapist? <- Conclusion: I need one.
This was meant. Moreover, I read that page using Google translator.
Of course, even in the original. And write well. As far as I can I check is the translation. Then I replace words and when I think now you could understand it, then I post it.
Oh, and before I leave the text again translated into German.
Can you imagine how much work does it?
Here you can see my current day's work. And they understand this? Unclewebb determined again not.
EDIT:There have been very amused about this sentence:

Or you had the choice of German words for it too large?

This is always my problem. How should I German, transfer in such a banal language like English? Since I have at the end of an English sentence more than 20 German words left.

Thank CompTrekkie! Now, are the reactions to my post on this page entirely clear.
I hope, "unclewebb" can not get private mail now than he would like. His main area was so far "ThrottleStop. -
Ok this is starting to get annoying.
So i go the main HP website and download the F.40 E
WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (for Notebooks with Intel Processors) - Microsoft Windows Vista-Based HP Pavilion HDX9494NR Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
Install it, reboot, then proceed to try the bios mod again, but same message. So then I go to my cpuz to check which bios is currently installed and it tells me that I have 68dvd Ver. F40, not the F.40 E, so now what do I do? -

Nevertheless, RikkiBerlin's technical wisdom is priceless, but I wouldn't describe English as banal. Otherwise shame on Shakespeare for using it.

@S K I
Showing at everyone just "F.40"
So you have the latest BIOS already on your HDX. -
If that's the case then I'm pretty much at a dead end at this point because I researched the hell out of this issue for the past 2 hours, and I've come up with zilch, guess this is a project which I'll have to trash for now :/.
-
@ S K I
Have I understood correctly. You have flashed original F.40 again?
Then flash the modded bios you wanted and then came the mistake?
What graphics card do you have in your HDX? Nvidia or ATI? -
When you say "original" F.40, are you referring to version prior to the one I already have installed? And I'm using an Nvidia 8800m gts on an HDX9494nr.
-
@ S K I
Anyway, forget your questions, and forget the "E".
There is only one original F.40.
For two weeks there is now a modded version of the F.40.
All this is for you is not important.
Your conditions are optimal and the error will be found soon.
Please upload the modded bios again on the net!
Unzip it directly aud the desktop!
Make all files in the same folder!
Then run "update.exe" as a context menu Administrator!
Take all relevant precautions during bios update as always. (No screen saver, AC supply, etc) -
I had already done everything which you said above Ricki before hand, and still same result, that is why I'm having such a difficult time trying to figure this out. Like I said, if this is an issue with the mod itself I can understand, because I'm hopeful nando will figure it out. However if it's not, I just want to make sure I've covered every end on my angle.
-
@ S K I
Sometimes it helps not to think for themselves!
Have you Modd.Bios download again?
Even when it comes time to download errors.
Sorry, you have no signature. It is therefore difficult to identify a cause for your problem. CPU, OS, 32 bit or 64, and
Maybe your computer is running Linux and we are looking for Completely restructured in the wrong direction!
(Linux only as an example) -
Yea I appologize for that, however if I was using Linux or anything related that might cause this issue, I would of mentioned it earlier, but my specs are pretty much cookie cutter..... actually I should really start changing the way I type because my metaphors are probably confusing you further as well.
But regarding the modded bios issue, but yea I've downloaded it multiple times to rule out that issue, and a bunch of other things as well. But anyways, I appreciate your help up to this point anyways. -
JustMe79 said: ↑Oh - another question I had is about the display - is it possible to get replacement WUXGA displays in Europe(UK, GER)?
I'd so love to get rid of my WSXGA+ one... - the only thing I actually always kind of 'hated' about my Dragon. Unfortunately the WUXGAs were only available as an upgrade option in the US, I think. :-(
Would anyone be willing to swap their WUXGA in favour of a mint condition WSXGA+? Maybe someone who's eyes aren't that sharp anymore... or so?? ;-)
Apart from that, is there any news on the graphics card front? Any crazy new hack that eventually allowed us to use that lovely 280M?Click to expand...
EDIT: I guess they do still sell them! Wow only $250 too:

nando4 said: ↑The ADDCCV3 documentation on the compression algorithm the HP Inventec bios uses. If can figure out how to do it AND find an appropropriate MXM module and vbios, eg: FX3700M, then there is no reason why it wouldn't work.
Worth noting, the HP 8710W had a FX3600M option. Not sure if anyone is willing to try to flash the 8710W bios on their HDX9000 via the emergency recovery method? Just rename the 8710W rom.bin to be 30d4.bin on a USB floppy, hit WIN+B on startup. To flash back to the HDX9000 bios, copy it as 68MAD.bin on the USB floppy and do a WIN+B or hold the four-arrows on startup. Though if they use different keyboard controllers then the keyboard may be clobbered in which case hold down as many keys as can on startup. Ensure you *don't* do 2-passes if it asks for it. Best would be to remove the flash eeprom chip and do a backup of it using a USB SPI burner *just in case*.
Yes.. I've flashed a 6710P and 2710P bios and reversed it on my 2510P.
Someone did put a FX3700M into a 8710W, but it was downclocked, it was overheating and they could only see 256MB as explained.
If extremely lucky, the 8710W's FX3600M compressed vbios byte markers may line up so can just copy/paste the vbios into the HDX9000 bios.
DIY ViDock instead?
Still waiting on word on what slot your expresscard is. If it's port1, then could do a x2 DIY ViDock which would be a substantial performance improvement over the 8800 GTS.Click to expand...Something MobileArtist and I have tried looking into for a while now and seeing how it could happen.

You come just at the right time.
Too bad that you now sleep where I write this.
Well then I'll hope you're awake when you read this.
This is exactly now. (Weird, right? We have different "now")
Enough of that, we have up to WSXGA + and WUXGA, "and HDD" the same hardware. However, you have "8GB 667MHz" and I "8GB 800 MHz RAM."
You had a x64 OS?
Thus, a comparison would be to my Values "WEI" and " wPrime V2.04" very interesting.
While "wPrime Bench 32M+1024M" and "WEI" investigation had me "ThrottleStop" is fixed at 2.7 GHz.
Do not forget wPrime Run as Admin!

It's not about what "users is better," but "there are differences between 667 and 800MHz RAM.
Also welcome are the results of other users.
For benchmark comparisons, at least the same CPU to be present. The best even at 2.7GHz fixed. (If not I'll have to down clock times)
Thanks in advance! -

I'm curious why they die after a while, I've never used mine on battery, I always keep it plugged, but it still died. -
Only to supplement the values for VistaHPx32:
Vista32 can expect better and faster but just as Win7x64.
Here again for a quick comparison Win7x64 values (or right here without WEI)------->
Both OS and dual boot. Same conditions.
But Vista 32 is "4GB RAM disk" and this is where the pagefile.sys. Whether this is the explanation I do not know. Of course, I had several runs of wPrime in both. Also, both systems are fully optimized. No further processes the Bench.
Does anyone have any idea? -

No worries. No one gets 2.7. It's just a nominal figure. It's always 2.69x. Just like 2.5ghz was always 2.49x.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm now the proud father of twins. Yes, I got a second Dragon today with almost the same spec as my original Beast.....
HP HDX9320EA
T9300 ([email protected] thanks to Nando4/2.0)
4GB RAM
2 x 250GB
nVidia GeForce 8800m GTS
Panasonic UJ-120 Blu-Ray Combo Drive
64bit Windows 7 Ultimate
I got a bit sick of lugging the big ol' unit around the world every 6 weeks, so I'm going to leave one of them on my ship.
I've been monitoring quite a few of these for quite a long time and now I have just what I was after, in A1 condition, for a decent price too, £500 English Pounds, or $790 in foreign currency.
A nice little Christmas present to myself!

Another thing about Ebay is that there is a scam going on that allows people to artificially pump up their ratings. One approach apparently involves cabals of sellers who reinforce each other with positive ratings. Caveat emptor.
