welcome to the forums, however, personally i still consider your facebook page as a way to increase search rankings to your business and get others to hit that website, since you list your website...so i consider it spamming in a way.

either way...this is my club...so for the facebook thing...good luck, i'm out.

I get this too as well, and that WITH the newest NVIDIA driver. It usually occurs after many hours of watching TV on the HDX, while firefox browsing, youtube.. It's quite annoying especially if I'm in the middle of recording something with my Hauppauge PVR. It does it in Vista Ultimate 64 bit too.

Coolbeans. How come you need both headphone jacks, for other people listening at the same time or some kind of stereo set up? I've never used both jacks and if that whining noise increases because of another thing in the other jack I think it would start to get really annoying. I think I'm going to try 5511. You have never had audio drop out over time with SRS I take it? One other question I had was what are some things we can shut off via msconfig startup that are of no use? I use a lot of things in there I think, but like I've see RAID something in there.. what is that, do I need that? I'm thinking if I can take off somethings in there I don't need, there will be less of a chance audio will drop.

Are you dual booting? I ask because my wife's HP(different rig and GPU) had this problem. Searching the net didn't give any permanent fix. When we upgraded from Vista to Win7 with a CLEAN install, the problem went away. If you have tried both OS's as stand-alone, this probably won't work. If you are dual-booting and haven't wiped everything and started over, then you may want to try.

I never tried a clean install of Vista when she was running it, so I don't know if that would have helped or not, just know that when we put 7 on there from scratch, problem went away. Pain in the a55, I know, but may be the only solution. Good luck.

Maybe a database corruption? I did several dual boots, and then erased one, only now after that do I get that stupid error. I'm thinking it will go away with a full reformat and then Windows 7 clean install.

Clean install is the key. I had this issue when running HP's Vista. After clean install if Vista using a OEM/Retail disc. Problem gone.

Clean install does not mean a fresh install. It means using a OEM/retail version of the OS. Not the HP.

You should have no problems thereafter unless it is some other software causing the issue. Possibly Quickplay.

Other than that, there really is no other solution as Nvidia has been noted as having fixed this problem with drivers later than 170.xx

Would you believe for no reason other than to satisfy some odd OCD issue I seem to have?

You should see my office. Everything in its place and all nice and tidy :p

Never had that issue. don't know what could be causing it.

Not with the 5511 on win7. Vista, it depended on what I was doing. If the CPU util went above 50%, then there would be a stutter or two.

Won't help really . Vista/win7 kernel isn't so sensitive to most processes running in the background as to cause performance issues like XP. If you watch the process tab in task manager, you will see that none of them really use up any CPU time (exception of system idle process).

Multitasking on the other hand uses up considerable resources.

...Especially your bazillion open Firefox tabs...

    ... :D

    True story.

Really wasn't thinking about the website address, it's a force of habit. I've removed it because I bought the Dragon for the love of Hp and it's unique technology. Thanks for the "tap on the shoulder" I currently own a DV7000 DV9000, TX2Z Tablet, & The Dragon

Haha ok. Oh boy, yea, my room... isn't like that..? :)

Hopefully if/when I send it in for repairs they'll fix it.

It was like that a LOT with 5607 and SRS so that's a bit better.

Firefox uses tons...yea lol. That may be one reason why :) But what's weird is it only does it after a few hours, and seems to get stuck sometimes at near to 80% CPU.. maybe it's the pluggins? I dunno..

@2.0 your help is needed. (???or others???)

Have on a partition installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.
No upgrade, but a clean install.
So now have a dual boot Vista 32bit HomePremium (Part C) / 7 Professional 32 bit Windows (Part E). (Part D: is Recovery)

No missing devices in Device Manager.
With a little effort you get to run everything. :)
    Even ...
Quick Launch bar perfectly until TV button. (TV I get to run yet) :)
Quick-Play runs including BluRay playback. :)
CyberLinkDVD-suite SWSetup folder also works. :)
Remote works perfectly (even TV button) :)

HP Wireless Assistant can not be installed, also need not him.

The only problem was the Bluetooth device.
This did not appear in Device Manager and could therefore not be initially installed. I could solve this problem. This was caused by an under Vista (Part C), disabled Bluetooth. After its activation, the module also appeared in Win7 (Part E) on. It then runs the camp with both driver and later in sp44774.
    All this only for information.

Now to my problem. In my HDX Win7 is not automatically enter Sleep mode, or hibernation. Manually go both states.

All device drivers enable the power saving states.
Power plans, and network settings are also set correctly. (Including multimedia settings)
    All drivers to latest standard
    Autostart clean.

Could this problem with the Vista partition related?
    What idea do you have?
Am with my ideas for the time at the end. :(

No synthetic 3DMark06 improvement of 197.16 WHQL" over "195.62 Beta".
After three runs the following results on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit:
GPU max overlock 650/1040/1625 with T9300 CPU.

    195.62 Beta -- 9891 (4669/4419/2284)

    197.16 WHQL - 9877 (4671/4401/2282) very slight loss

The Latezen are also under the new driver too high. Consequently, Powermizer stay with me "off". Also on Windows 7!

The average latency of Windows 7 is mine, however, much lower than Windows Vista.
    Win7 on average 300μs *. :)
    WinVista average 1000μs *.
    * At GPU clocking up and down peaks continue to 300.000μs. (At Powermizer on)

Yes. You have to disable Homegroup services. The home group service deactivates suspend and hibernate in order to maintain a network connection.

Thanks for your quick response! :) Will it try to understand tomorrow.
For Windows 7, there are two such services. 1st Home network provider groups and 2 Home network listener groups. Both are set to "manual" and did not start.
These services do you mean not safe. But what else?
And what influence the device manager of Vista has partition on the device manager of Windows7 partition? (In order Bluetooth)

EDIT: My network itself is "public" and by W-Lan. No shares, no printer sharing. All settings are similar to those of Vista. And there, everything works smoothly.
Even a network Uninstall in Win7 brought no success.

My first 8800M GTS delivered in these settings also artifacts and crashes.
After the change were those values. At the same time, it is also driver dependent.
From 179.48 clocked higher I can. The extremely underclock (eg 116/106/236) is no longer possible with higher drivers.

Explanation for the problems of automatic power saving mode:
Because I have a BluRay drive and wanted to buy any additional software to run, I brought QuickPlay V 6310 in compatibility mode for Vista.
This one I took while out of the car start, but we also launched a service "QuickPlay Task Scheduler". I just took these out of service ... Win7 and now goes into his well-deserved sleep mode. :D
This problem has cost me two days of my life, because Windows, as always, does not tell what it prevents. The whole Event Viewer was no explanation. The possible error causes are how often masse. Unfortunately there is no fellow sufferers and thus Google is no help.
As soon as I get to run the TV button (Quick Launch button), I let you know. :)

Blue eject button (Quick Launch button) only in connection with QuickPlay.
Or you mine the direct drive eject button on the right side of the HDX?

If HDX is in sleep mode now works even the "blue Quick Launch TV button. Window 7 then starts directly with Quick Play TV channel.

Remains to me only this key in the current system to integrate properly.
This small step, and HDX is working with really all the features of the original delivery, including software. Of course without unnecessary software. :D

Have you QuickPlay 3.7.0.6310 or another version installed?
Did you install the Quick Launch Buttons version 6.50.15.1, or other?
If so, should also work your eject button.
In my case it ran away. Only the TV Quick Launch button does not work. At least not if Win7 is running. If HDX is under Win7 in sleep mode, hibernate,
or shut off, then works even TV button. Use the key times in any of these states. I will still try the TV button in the current system work for the move.
    (Although it is not important)
Also, I'm looking at the HDX no television and if so, then via the Media Center.
Does your TV button on the remote control?
    In my work each key.

Important: When you install QuickPlay on Win7:
After the installation you set the compatibility mode on Vista Service Pack 2! Otherwise, it comes to crash in the DVD mode.
Also, it is usually not possible to play BluRay disc.
I also have HP QuickPlay taken out of the boot. (Not required)
Important is still to execute the service QuickPlayTaskScheduler not automatically at boot time.
Did this also disabled on the system configuration. (Run msconfig, services tab)
If this service is not disabled, do the energy states are no longer automatic. (At least not me)

ya that would be nice for certain. i wonder how hard it would be for some keyboard company to design one to fit. i also thought about getting tritium paint and painting the white characters with that. seriously considered it, but i am not sure how steady my hand can be at painting it however.

    RickiBerlin says THANK YOU!

Thanks to all who had the pleasure to Win7 on the HDX !!!
Thanks to 2.0 for the continuous experiments, thanks to CompTrekkie for the driver list, thanks to all whose names are not here !
Without you I would not have it installed on the HDX. And this has paid off in any case. Win7 makes Vista look really old.
It is as if I had a new laptop. (New HDX) :)
A SSD is now no more obstacles.
    Did someone Win7 cloned before?
How the activation behaves according to the clone?

I played ME:2 before I played ME:1. I had ME:1 a couple of years ago, but I could never see the galaxy map. Uninstalled it and went along my merry way.

Played ME:2 fairly recently (and still play it). *LOVE* the game!!! Certainly a matter of opinion, but it is one of the best games I've played (and I've been playing video games since the late 70's/early 80's). Comes right close to knocking Anachronox as my #1.

You DON'T have to play ME:1 to play (and enjoy!) ME:2. However, after beating ME:2 -- three times -- I tried to load up and play ME:1. It worked this time, and played through a couple of times as well. It helps with some of the background plot with some of the characters. Plus you get some bonuses from importing a ME:1 character in ME:2. Resources, credits, a couple of achievements or some such. Certainly not required by any means, though.

I bought the game from Target or somewhere (some "big box" store...) got it home, and downloaded a torrent. The cracked versions are 99.9% better than the official, retail version (SecureROM and all that crap).

Max resolution, max effects, max everything... It is a gorgeous game.

If you like Sci-Fi, RPG's, FPS, and mediocre to good plot -- ME:2 is it.

You should also brush up on some of the forums (on GameFaqs, as a starting point -- there are a few other forums out there as well) on how to tweak the game. Not for cheating, but for faster load times and things of that nature.

Just looks stunningly brilliant on the Dragon!!

**EDIT** -- one of the key killers of a game for me is the key customization. I game exclusively with a left-handed mouse, and use the 10-key keypad for movement/actions. If I can't remap to the 10-key, I will not play the game. "Dead Space" was a game I was REALLY looking forward to -- but doesn't allow you to customize ANY controls to the 10-key. After b!+ching enough about it -- I was actually given a refund for it (from Best Buy, no less!) ME:2 (and ME:1) is entirely customizable!!

    ***EDIT*** -- Anachronox on Wikipedia.

Precisely because of such waste (securerom) and others, I went over to my clean system to clone.
The clone of my 500 GB OS disk (about 70% occupied) takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
(1:30 hours in which I can drink coffee. The work has just the machine) :D
So I have a perfectly equipped system.
On this you kan then install any garbage. For example, GTA4 with me. At the same time I have to give up anything.
Why did the usual work environment (for example, e-mail, Mesenger and and and)
If I have the game through again is my main system HDD to insert.
A new clone clones itself. Any software can be installed in such danger.
My main system is always clean.
For example, I have no confidence on this scurom removal tool.
I need not even remove, this will be done by new clone. :D

As much as I hate to admit it -- I've got a bookshelf FULL of PC games -- all of which opened just to get to the manual. I'll buy the game, and crack it myself. No DRM, no "calling home", no SecureROM, none of that crapware. I'll pay for a game, no problem with that. I won't put up with a game (a GAME!!! Not some enterprise-wide accounting package or anything) that potentially trashes my OS and requires a complete system restore. But I gotta have my games! Am I contributing to the "problem" ("problem" = those evil nasty pirates! Oh No!!)? Probably. I'm not sharing anything. I'll buy something, then actively seek out a crack for it.

What really sucks is simply getting older... I no longer have the reflexes to play the games I used to REALLY enjoy.

I can see that just like you
I would also not have dirt on my system and I have no dirt on it. Only bad for those not qualified in this way. I have the time required for installation Win7 and served mainly for the establishment of the system. A second time it will not happen. With fun, this has really nothing to do so. And so I then clones Win7 soon.

    :twitchy:

    Just like me.
