Did you check your FPS under both conditions, both with and without turbo boost?

Earlier it was mentioned that the 60hz panel is the AUO23ED. Thishttp://hktrx.panelook.com/B156HAN02...its-WLED-eDP-30pins-AUO23ED-detail_60565.html spec sheet shows Outline Dimension : 350.66 (W) × 216.15 (H) mm for its dimensions which is a little smaller than 359.5(H)×223.8(V) that is listed for the AUO42ED that Bob tried to install. The AUO80ED 144hz http://www.panelook.com/B156HAN08.0_AUO_15.6_LCM_overview_34288.html looks like it would fit physically but uses 4 lane 40 pin cable.
The NV156FHM-N61 (BOE06FB) looks like it would fit, still only 60hz but much better specs on paper. -
With turbo boost - 52-55
Without turbo boost - 55-60
I don't know exact reason but without turbo boost I have gained more than 5 fps. -

Hiya. Glad to report that after UV to -.125, power throttled to "better performance" my max temp was 83C, averaging low 60s as per HWINFO. This was after 2.5 hours playing Shadow of Mordor in mixed High-Ultra Settings. Previously I was peaking 99 with thermal throttling in all cores. I will continue to observe and update here but so far, so good.

- 100% idle
- Streaming music but leave it untouched otherwise. In fact, this is the main use for my current PC when I'm not working or gaming on it.
- Small office documents like Excel and Word
- Internet browsing
- 100% idle
-
Normal use :
CPU temp 48 - 50c (room temp 28-32)
GPU temp 48 - 50c
Fan noise - 22-25 db
(sometimes when fans randomly kicked in noise can goes up to 30db.but only for few minutes) -
Hey there fellow HP owners, special shoutout to Bob for the review (made me pickup this baby @ microcenter).
Does anyone know whether the battery is working correctly when you reinstall windows? I seem to vaguely remember that it would drop to like 90% while charged or stop charging, could be wrong though. But since this is a gaming laptop first and foremost it's always plugged in when I'm playing, but I'm also worried that this might harm the battery.
Anyone got some input on this? -
Bob, this is a fantastic review.. I got my laptop today but I feel I was in for a less than happy surprise. I ran some benchmarks and I noticed very low scores on my SSD. Looking into that, I found out there was a Toshiba NVME Kxg50znv256g. The write performance is less than ideal, I'm getting about 250-300MB's and Reads of 1000MB's.. Looking online it seems Samsung users are getting at least twice that. You can notably tell the laptop drags when installing applications and feels sluggish. I'm going to return mine as I'm just not happy about this. I called HP but they said if I sent it in they would have to replace it with the same part number that was already installed. Seems like bad luck if you get the Toshiba NVME.

Hey guys - so i have the 2018 HP omen 15 with a fresh install of windows 10 and an updated BIOs. I'm getting a lot better temps now after updating the BIOs and undervolting, but my damn clock is totally messed up and fails to keep time properly whenever i put the computer to sleep or shut it down! I have to go into the date/time settings and toggle the update clock automatically for it to fix the time. I've tried going into the control panel and setting the server, clicking update server, and everything else i can think of. If i shut the computer down at 1:30am, and turn it on 12 hours later, the clock will say 1:30am.
Anyone else experiencing this issue on their end? Thanks for any help! -

Does anyone seem to get choppy performance even though your FPS counter is showing a steady 60 FPS? I've been playing Fortnite/PUBG/Black Ops 4 beta, and while all of these games run at 60+ fps, some moments definitely feel more choppy than others (same framerate).
Going to test a few setups, see if it's a throttling issue, the drivers are the latest and I've updated the BIOS as well, CPU also seems to be running at 3.9GHZ all the time while playing, it's not unplayable but definitely noticeable. -
Hi ya. Just wonder if the Omen Command Center's MACRO buttons are working on your apps. I have the Reactor mouse as well but the macros seem to be not working at all.

Got this 5 days ago and this morning while gaming I get a notification that my battery is at 11%, plugged in and not charging. Go to settings but there's nothing I can do!

I also don't understand how to do a clean install of Windows but someone else said that helps run games smoother. If it's worth doing on a brand new computer I'll try to do it or see if they can do it for me.

Does it really matter what you carry if you can't use it to its maximum potential? -
Purchased this laptop 5 days ago from Micro Center. Got her home and installed Starcraft 2 to give it a go on high/ultra settings (upgrading from 2011 MacBook Air ). Install went fine. Played for about 30-45 min and shut it down and went to bed. Next day tried to load battle.net and I get a memory reference error. After that point every application gives a memory reference error and crashes. Ran multiple RAM diagnostic tools but all show RAM is ok. Waiting for a new stick to come in the mail to test but super frustrating. Anyone else experience this or know what could cause it? I’m not crazy tech savvy but I know my way around a bit. Also did 2 separate clean installs of Windows 10. Still get same errors.

The clock on my omen 15 fails to keep time whenever i shut down the machine or put it to sleep.
For example: If i shut down my computer at 1:30am and turn it on 12 hours later, it'll say its still 1:30am. Any idea what could be causing this? The battery seems to be fine and holds a good charge.
I did install a fresh install of windows and updated the BIOs when i first received the laptop and I'm not sure if it could be a software or hardware issue. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! -

Screen bleed, thermal throttling, shared heatsink with GPU, noisy fan at idle, any other issues I missed?
-
Thermals are high, indeed. Reaching 80 degree Celsius but there is no thermal throttling at all.
Fans are audible at idle and gets way too loud at high load.
No other issues so far.Last edited: Aug 16, 2018 -

The instruction at 0x######## referenced memory at 0x########. The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate the program.
It seems the ##### are always different each time. And now it won’t let me uninstall anything at all without getting an error like above.
Oh and the first time I tried to clean instal windows it got stuck in a boot loop fir like an hour before I had to force it to install from a usb. Don’t know if that could be related. -
Have you tried running a system file checker scan? If not, then do it (type 'sfc /scannow' without quotes in command prompt with administrator permission). -
Read somewhere it could be the ram socket or some cpu pins are bad/misaligned? -
