Well you should know what's going on in about 1 and 33 minutes (11:43 CDT) as that is the estimated arrival time for the FDX90 flight to Memphis. I ordered on June 4 and have a delivery date of June 17 in Seattle. I'm hoping they make it to Seattle by tomorrow morning because my other half is so tired of hearing me talk about when it might arrive that I have to cook Beef Stroganoff for dinner if it doesn't arrive tomorrow!

As far as I know, HP packages usually fly from Shanghai to Anchorage, and then to Memphis on a second flight. They don't usually go directly from Shanghai to Memphis. Don't ask me why, and I could be wrong!

FedEx flies a single plane direct on low-volume days between Memphis and major cargo destinations in Asia. Monday is a low-volume day.

Ah, see, I was indeed wrong :D

I'm going to go to bed now in the hopes that when I wake up tomorrow morning, the online FedEx tracker will have changed to something good. I mean, an entire business day will have gone by in China, so I'm not expecting too much, right?

i bought the targus 14" case and wow it's huge haha. it's been useful whenever i leave without a bag since it's big enough to hold the charger, my wallet, etc... but i don't really like it. it fits almost-perfectly in my brother's macbook pro sleeve case though so i'm thinking of getting one of those myself. they're pretty inexpensive on ebay, and definitely preferable to the huge targus one.

I just got mine today, already updated the bios to F.09. When you go into the driver page it lists like 50 different versions of the dm4 to choose from, do you just pick one from the list and all the drivers are the same?

The date that HP gives is the estimated build date, not delivery date.

BTW, if anyone wants a 5% off coupon for HP (stackable on top of member discount for basically 15% off) then PM me. I got it today but I am not using it any time soon.

That is the exact same information that I have (except for the June 12 stuff). Don't worry about the repetition -- it seems pretty commonplace for many people. We're both on the west coast, so hopefully we will have it by tomorrow or Thursday!

My estimated delivery date is Thursday. I live in Oregon, which is closer to Anchorage than California is, so I wonder if they'll give your package higher priority or something.

Hmm... it seems that the only flight going from Shanghai to Anchorage/Memphis is FDX28, going to Anchorage, which is scheduled to leave at 8:55pm "CST" today. Assuming that "CST" is Chinese Standard Time, that flight should have already taken off. However, FlightAware still shows it as "scheduled", which is odd: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX28

don't worry most of you will get yours on your estimated delivery date. I think they all go through Alaska because of its proximity to China.

I swear this has given me FedEx OCD...my brother flies with FedEx and lives in Anchorage and it is everything I can do to stop myself from bugging him about where my package is and when it will get here. I did find an interesting site called jumpseatfinder (they don't really publish FedEx flight tables due to security issues) and I did find several two leg trips from ANC to SEA on FedEx. One of these is probably the route that will be taken. I bought a new HP desktop last year but it is not nearly as exciting as the DM4t that is coming.

Well, it looks like I was right! FlightAware shows that FDX28 landed 11 minutes ago in Anchorage, and my online FedEx tracker shows that my package just arrived in Anchorage. :D

Maybe now that I've caught up to all of you, our packages will go through customs together? Haha, I'm really hoping for no delays.

He has the 13". I'm not sure about brand names because I'm thinking that if something is made specifically for the MBP, then it might be a bit small for the dm4. The one he has is just a generic sleeve case from eBay (one of those reversible ones). Gah, this is frustrating because I really want a good case for my dm4!!

I'll see if I can figure this out, then I'll let you know. :)

I bought a Case Logic PLS14 sleeve from Amazon for $28. Although my dm4t has yet to arrive, the sleeve is here and it is very nice. It has a suede-like lining that will protect the metal case from scratches and an exterior pocket for a thumbdrive and powercord. The sleeve with fit a laptop with max dimensions of 13.5"X10.1"X1.5". The dm4t is 13.4X9X1.3 so it's going to be snug (which is what I wanted).

I bought a North Face Surge backpack a few weeks ago for college, and it seems to be a very good purchase. Since it's a full laptop backpack, it requires more "commitment" than a sleeve, but I still think it's great if you're a student.

I see that 4GB of RAM is now standard, though when I ordered, it was a $50 upgrade. Will HP likely issue a credit for this difference?

I received a credit for USD 80: $50 for the price difference on the RAM and another 30 for the fact that the hard drive is now 500GB at the base price. Took about five minutes on the phone from dialing to hanging up.

I already got an $80 credit for wanting to return my dm4 after learning about the $200 stackable coupon. Do you think they'll be giving me another credit on top of that because of the upgraded base configuration?

Doesn't a credit for upped base memory and HD potentially void the $200 coupon credit which was predicated on a >$1099 configuration (pre coupon, etc.), assuming order was just over $1099? or do they not care?
