So the discount applies to those who got delayed not once, but twice?

Getting delayed twice would be an inconvenience, but they only delayed you a total of ten days. They delayed me 12 days (8th to the 20th) and then congratulated themselves in their email for keeping the delay under 10 'working days' because four of the delay days were on weekends.

 

Yeah that's what I have been doing, its definitely a little bit better. I don't seem to use them for much anyways. And I don't blame HP for the design, it makes it fits nicely into the island style, at least they didn't mess up and shrink the backspace like some laptops do.

i wanted the dell based on the speakers alone, but that makes no sense since i already got dell a525 desktop speakers and high quality head phones.

i just wanted a laptop that had decent bass to it the hp meets my requirments spec wise well allmost ..... just that screen res and no backlite keys i man the sony C series had the backlight standard plus 1080p as an option ....

the dell xps has the screen, backlight on the keys and the display but dell needs to step up thier game on design. That xps system is ugly and bulky, i mean how hard is it for pc manufacturers to make systems slim? if apple can do it they can ..... dell needs some ex apple and hp designers ..... but thanks for the update on the sound

 

hey has anyone seen the new wireless display option on the dv6 and dv7? I wonder if we have it if we ordered earlier?

 

And I would do the same for someone that has a keyboard backlight replacement video (would you think about doing a repaste with this video also, since you have it apart anyway?), as well and a rep +1 to boot! Please be VERY descriptive, noobie here.

 

Yeah my first delay was just an email saying u been delayed. This second email said "URGENT REQUEST REQUIRED" and how I need to call them to confirm that I want them to still build the computer and how they will credit my account the 10%. I guess because its been delayed twice they require u to confirm you still want the product. I hope it actually ships on the 15th. I ordered this laptop during my spring break since my macbook screen kept messing up. Going on 2 months without one at school...ugh

 

I'm supprised that HP would investigate it (or stand behind it) as it's not part of the origional pc. Good to hear though. How much was the 6230? How difficult is it to install. I sent mine back & ordered a new one just because of the 1000 model in my dv7 malfunctioning, at least I think. Maybe It would have been better to replace the card with a more advanced one. Let us know if you get a fix on it please.

 

I'm not a fan of the XPS line, but I saw one in Costco and it actually doesn't look as bad in person as it does in pictures.

Dell did come out with a slim good looking laptop, the Dell Adamo (not the Adamo XPS model) that almost no one bought because it was under powered. I think the issue is heat: it's hard to get it that thin and have the cpus and gpus that consumer demand.

 

I saw something in the Intel folder for it (ordered 3-15), wondered if it worked, but I have nothing to connect it to, so I never bothered.

Tommarows the big day! HOPEFULLY my dv6 will ship tommarow. It seems common that if you do not recieve a confirmation email on the day it is supposed to ship, you will recieve a delay email two days later, is that prettymuch true for everyone else?

Are people getting their dv7's on time now? I remember a couple of weeks back people had severe delays with them.

 

Yayyy just got an email that it's DELAYED 4/19 is the new date.

I called the resolutions dept, and asked if they could apply the 15% coupon (towards a future purchase) to my order, she said that their limit is $50 off, and if I want higher she has to put it in to get it approved. Of course I know it won't, but at least I know I'll get the $50 off (NOT on top of 15% if that gets approved).

The delay is kind of a blessing in disguise, but it's still super frustrating.

So stupid that a company would limit something like this in their BIOS. I would have never dreamed hardware like a WIFI card would flag compatibility issues from the BIOS! Who cares HP, if the Operating System doesn't support it, then it wont work anyways. I hate it when companies try to hold hands and try that crap.

 

So I got this email a few hours ago today (take note at my dates in my signature)

After I called to confirm that I wanted to keep my order, they went ahead and credited my account ten percent. The credit will post to my account, as soon as I am issued a FedEx tracking number.

Not only that, but the HP REP said that the date of April 15 was inaccurate. The correct NEW date is now April 20.

Ooo yeah. You might want to call the bank and disable that card number just to be safe. Someone might have it saved somewhere.

 

the card number is taken off of the account which is why they haven't been able to buy anything..... and they still don't know the password of the account...sooo everytime i've logged on, i just see what they tried to buy.....

 

I'm in the same boat as you. At this point I figure it'll ship when it ships, but at least we're getting a great discount.

the dell adamo was a joke n that is too thin give me dell or hp's design team and technical team and i would make a wonder laptop good sound, thin enough, good speacs and most off all cool running might even invent a new heat removal system , but most off all it will be stylish ..... lol i dont like dell because thier design team is being starved ... but i want this hp bad

Just got an email ( 9pm) from HP Parts saying that my Harddrive Kit has been shipped. I clicked on the Fedex tracking number and it shows that the Hardrive Kit was delivered at 10am today.

Performance. The only way the system can redeem itself is if Dell decides to integrate the new low voltage AMD Llano Processors.

 

Yeah I agree performance is lacking (although for most people running MS Office + Browser with some tabs open, it works fine). But I loved the way it looked.

Dell discontinued the Adamo, but is said to be taking design cues into considering when they update one of their lines (inspiron, etc.) in the future.

that seems odd. I had trouble too getting the coupon code price match. You have to ask in a certian way to get it. You have to ask if they can "credit" you back the difference in price with the new code. If you ask to replace the coupon code with the new one, they'll play dumb and not do it.
remember that term "credit". If you keep asking for "credit" back you should just about get whatever price difference back
