So how long does the laptop generally stay in Shanghai after one receives the initial "shipped" notification?

I might send it back, thank you for telling since I dont buy Hp often.
But I really need the speed, I like my computer to be fast but my dad is also in need of something portable and fast for his job, some of his new software that he is required to learn needs a fast PC running window 7. So we choose the processor first then tried to take out what we didnt need, but keeping all the laptop security in, like fingerprint scanner and loJack.

 

It wouldn't hurt to read at least a few of the online reviews of LoJack before installing it.

 

I know that people had problems with contacting their services for refunds but some have claim that it does track the whereabouts of their laptops when stolen. So if it does get stolen I can have some hope, with the $400 coupon the unit cost 1329.99 before tax, so I really dont want to loss it.

 

has anyone in here used the optional touchscreen? worth it? with the $400 off coupon, I'd rather have the touchscreen than the Blu Ray drive.

Wow my laptop (and those of a few others here) is still sitting in Alaska "Available for Clearance". If this keeps up, we'll have to wait until Tuesday.

 

Jumpseat finder is being useless and the only info Flight Stats has on FedEx packages waiting for departure is to Memphis.

After using this laptop for a day I can say that I really love it however, I don't know where people are getting this battery life from because my i7 with the 6-cells lasted 1:30 watching movies, and the 9 cell lasted 2:30 just surfing and doing pretty much nothing.... Is the i5 providing a much greater batter life for you guys? In that case I might return this one and get the i5

Some guys have posted mini-reviews of it in this thread. I posted a video of it in use several pages back.

 

I think the core i5 has switchable gpu's so you can get a little more battery life out of the laptop.

yea sure.
I ordered it on the 6th right after the coupon code for $300 ended so the wait is gonna take a while, was so mad, i wanted to stack with instant saving + 300 so i could had saved $450 but the $400 alone code is ok.

 

Ok so I finally got my DV6Tse delivered yesterday and it is a beauty but when I open the lid there is a fairly large gouge in the upper left of the screen So I am getting it exchanged but does anyone know how long it will take or is is the same amount of time as ordering a new one. At least not all is bad as I had the i5-430m and the exchange will have the 450m.

 

What's with all these scratches and gouges. Do the customs people tear on it or something?

I'm getting mine exchanged and they told me they would rush it so it wouldn't take two weeks... So I'm assuming about a week would be a good estimate?

 

Mine better not coming with any scratches or tears or rips or nothing. If it takes 4 days to deliver they better handle my package with care.

 

Alright I can deal with a week wait for a screen with *hopefully* no more scratches or gouges + the improved processor.

On another positive note, I was surprised at how easy it was for the exchange.

Honestly no one can really give you even a close estimate. Seeing as it's soon Saturday, and that they need to ship paperwork to AK. From past comments this can delay it from one up to three or four days.

Yeah I just checked it and mine says clearance delay too. I hope this won't take very long...But I do recall that they do have flights on the weekends, so there's a chance that it might still get on the plane during the weekend. They just don't have deliveries.

 

So a Monday or Tuesday shipping for you guys is definitely probable.

I'm gonna purchase plane tickets to Memphis now.

 

I'm just going to play Flight Simulator X right now and fly a FedEx MD-11 from Shanghai to Anchorage to Memphis to Seattle. And by the time I'm done with the flight (real-time), my laptop better be cleared from customs.

 

It's one thing to wait a week for a laptop.

And another thing to wait for a laptop during summer break when you have nothing to do.

Hey guys. Been gone all day. Sorry for all the delays you guys are having.

As far as returns go. It's a pretty quick process because you don't have to send it back to Shanghai. lol. And as far as I know, they credit you back your money as soon as they know it's shipped and have Fedex tracking information.

One thing I didn't know was that you have 5 days to print your shipping label from the email they send you before it expires. I didn't know this and will have to call their Resolutions team and have them re-send it. I don't want to be without a computer, so I've delayed in hopes I could send this one back the same day that I got the new one.

Plus, I want to do a side by side comparison of the 2 machines.

Edit: Mine has departed Anchorage as of today, so no customs delays. Still only did the 5-7 day shipping so it'll be Wednesday before I get it though. Oh well, shipping was free so can't complain.

 

So I have an 25" external monitor.. and its
a hp 2509m 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution

I cant seem to get it completely FULL screen without it being blurry..
I am configuring it in the ATI control but nothings working?

Theres a black border around it when I have it set to external.
