yeah i just took the money... figured it was after the fact and the shipment cleared so i had no other leverage to use. [email protected] was the e-mail address i was corresponding to but it takes 24 hours for them to respond. surprisingly all women responded to all 3 of my e-mails.

I talked to FedEx today (the IPD Bulk shipment department 800-455-4588) regarding the shipment exception thing and they have my laptop leaving AK today and arriving in Oakland sometime with a scheduled delivery tomorrow still. I have no idea how or why, but they told me to call in the morning and they will let me know the ETA. Call that number to see where your laptops will be going just have your fedex shipping number.

Well, it's cleared from customs, but it's still sitting in Alaska. I'm pretty sure the flights from Anchorage to Memphis already left for today.

Hmm, mine left Alaska today at 3:13 PM local time. Unless it comes here somewhat directly, I'm not holding out a lot of hope for delivery tomorrow. If it has to fly all the way to Memphis or something first, I don't think I'll see it till Friday.

Coupon can also have expired...seeing it's been going on since July 6th...

Also i don't understand but why are people ordering hp envy 14 over this? This has way more features a wider screen better default batteries..

I'm pretty sure both laptops aren't made for any rough handling so why do they highlight built quality?? Most tops laptops will remain decadent is for 3 yrs.. Or 5 tops..

Back and the laptop is finally on the way here from Anchorage.

Flightstats shows that the laptop went to Oakland today and should be arriving today at 9:30 PM. Hoping it comes here tomorrow (actually it better)!

 

The coupon had a limited amount of uses, I want to say 1350 but I'm not positive.

 

I hope if it's possible mine will get to maryland for delivery tomorrow. But I doubt it. It better get here before friday what do you all think.

Wow and I was going to order one tonight too. I was just deciding on the SSD or not. On that subject, do you guys feel like the drive is worth it? Is it considerably quieter?

Doesn't matter about the noise even though it doesn't make any at all. It's just faster. No load times. Nothing its the best performance upgrade for your pc. Besides memory and gpu.

 

I'm happy with my SSD choice, even though I haven't received the lappy yet. Bing cashback does work, but not with any other coupon. My BCB got cancelled due to using the 400 dollar coupon.

 

If your package boarded to Memphis earlier today around 3 it'll get there in approx. 1 hour. The earliest flight it could transfer to is a flight to BWI at 3 AM where it'll land at approx. 6 AM.

And then depending on where you live it could go out for delivery that day.

He's probably on the Fedex website for their flights. Jumpseat Finder I believe. Useful tool to determine flight times and how long between destinations.

 

Mine departed Alaska 16:47, so it should be in Memphis by 01:00. I'm thinking it will arrive tomorrow night.

 

Wait mine left the same time and it's supposed to be heading to Oakland. Hmmm... Hopefully two planes? Haha

Shipped at 4:47 - same with the flight info - and will arrive at 9.
Next flight to LAX is 1/2/3 AM. Woo.

As for flight info I go to FlightStats (Doesn't really update - most recent flights show up around an hour before and won't give you tomorrow's flights). For the next day's flights I use jumpseat finder which won't actually give you the day's flight, only the next two days, oddly enough.

 

Hmm well hopefully mine's going to Oakland as well, because that would make it much faster since I'm in the Seattle area.

I asked fedex this afternoon and they said my laptop was headed to Oakland then the OC to me! Woohoo! I posted the number of the bulk supplies fedex folks earlier if u want to check where yours is going. Hopefully Oakland to LAX like fatpigs.

 

It's probably too late to call, and I'll find out by tomorrow morning anyway. Thanks though. I think I've waited so long for this laptop that I'm losing the urge to know its whereabouts. And I figured, I can't do anything about it anyway except bug HP, which I've already done.

 

Quick question for everyone - my dv6t battery seems to be discharging faster than when I initially got it (5 days ago). I went and downloaded battery bar, and my estimated discharge rate was 20,537 mW....isn't this really high? I saw a post a ton of pages back with the same thing, but the guy only had a discharge rate of -8000 mW.

Is there anything wrong with my battery? Or is it my computer? I'm running on integrated graphics only doing light web browsing.




And another thing - has anybody had the issue of their graphics not switching? When you right click the desktop and click "configure switchable graphics", the button depresses, but nothing happens? I'm not sure whats going on - but maybe its a driver issue or something? Anyone want to help me?

Yeah, I have looked it but I am not sure how hot it will be in the laptop, before I thought it was the HDD that was causing the heat on the left palmrest but from what I read the hard-drive is suppose to be more to the right?

 

It would be much easier if you could set a transponder on your front door and have FedEx Laser-Guided-Bomb your laptop directly to you.

how do you guys check flightstats for fedex route? im in CT

 

Hahaha. It's quite a fun puzzle. First thing is that all east coast flights are pretty much directed through Memphis (main huge hub).

First just go to the website and on the right hand side for "Flight Status" there's a tab for "By Airport". Enter ANC (Anchorage) on the airport name and type in FedEx for the airline. Set it departure and check.

To know which flight your package is on, check your Fedex tracking for the time of departure and roughly match it up to the proposed time of departure on FlightStats. Flightstats will tell you how long it'll take to get there and other pertinent information. If the airplane tracking icon doesn't show on the right side just click on the flight number.

 

Looks like i might not be getting it today. It says it will arrive in hartford at 6.40 AM and thats like 1 hour away. All packages usually leave the local desk sort facility early in the morning, so i doubt the delivery vehicle would drive an hour just to deliver it to me. So it looks like I'll have 2 wait till Friday.

But it doesn't matter, it's only the framerates that matter. 40fps average sounds great, what settings is it on?

2. How durable would you say it is?

Well the good stuff is fedex took a direct flight to new jersey and then to virginia and my laptop is out for delivery right now. Hopefully it comes before 2pm because ill be leaving by then. I will post temp readings and various tests and a video.

Will be doing some video encoding this evening for the first time on the new faster rig. I'm curious how it will do in comparison to before.

 

Okay, can anyone else test if Windows resumes with display working when they have overclocked GPU? Mine just shows black screen when I put it to sleep if the GPU is overclocked and a reboot is needed to fix it.
