I guess that's just part of the delivery process. That clearance delay can last anywhere from a few hours to a week. Mine luckily was released yesterday after only sitting there a day.

Hey guys! I have a question about the touchscreen. Does it inhibit viewing angles? If so, then by how much? Also, are either of the available screens (touch and standard) brighter than the other? Thanks in advance!
-
Has anyone successfully removed the Norton Online Backup shortcut link from the hp deskbar? I already uninstalled Norton Online Backup from the control panel. When I drag its icon from the bar, it comes back after I reboot my lappy....
@MethodtotheMadness:
The touchscreen doesn't seem to affect my viewing angles. -
Just got my laptop! And... it works too!
-
Toink you have to remove registry files associated with norton backup as well.. I used revo uninstaller and cleaned out norton backup registry files
-
Any idea how to change the side key buttons' function? I really want to use the mail key to open MailWasher Pro and the browser key to open my Synology web management -
Also in my case I uninstalled norton Internet security that can also be triggering reinstallation.. As per changing quick launch buttons it was listed earlier in the thread few pages back the software
is called Event Ghost
Tutorial of it's use can be found here http://www.digitalfusionmag.com/blo...automation-program-which-can-change-your-life -
My laptop is stuck in clearance delay as well, but it's barely been a day so hopefully it'll get released by tomorrow.

Mississippi, but I'm not too worried anymore after doing a bit of research...
Obviously, all international packages have to be cleared and go through customs, and apparently Fed Ex's customs or w/e operates from 7-3:30 Monday through Saturday. Our shipments arrived at customs at 3:25 and a clearance delay was placed on them later that night at 7:16. Looks like we simply missed the cut-off time yesterday, so hopefully they'll pass through customs today, or Saturday at the latest. If it's still stuck in clearance delay Monday or Tuesday, then I'll start to get frustrated. -
Mine is going to CA, Yea I'm not too worried either. I just want to get it as I haven been w/o a computer for almost 2 weeks now.
-
About the left palm rest heat problem, do you guys think it may be a faulty card reader? or usb controller?
-
Guys.... You may find this silly... But after a week of use I completely forgot that I had the keyboard backlight option.... Now that I realize it -- how do i turn it on
?
-
there is a button in the top right corner of the keyboard that has 3 squares and a little light coming from them.. just click that
-

Core Temp:
So after a week of use the MAX Core Temp I have is 92c on Core 0 and 90c on Core 1.
The above was reached when I was gaming at max settings in World of Warcraft with Turbo Boost going up to 2.8 from 2.5.
Do you guys think I should be keeping my eye out on any other stats?
Idle temp right now is in the 50c area but then I am using internet over bluetooth and doing some chatting and surfing.
How do I test my GPU; apparently that is a good barometer for gaming. I do see my GPU temperature but should I also test to see if it throttles? Is it supposed to? Does it matter? -
hey guys ive read the whole thing and i was saying ages ago i was going to get the 3030TX but due to some mistake on the stores part i now have the 3032TX which is the special edition with i7-720 processor and 6gb ram. to be honest \, i am loving this laptop except for the battery life, im not getting anywhere near 3-4hrs like some of you guys trying it properly tomorrow though. also ive had this for almost a week and been running furmark every night as i dun have any intensive game on here but temp still around 80s and it gets fairly hot just on my laptop and surfing net and msn :S any advise that doesnt involve taking laptop apart?
Also im trying to get hold of a 9cell battery for the Hp dv6 3032TX does anyone have one they want to sel or can direct me to a link? i live in Australia so get crap all technology stuffive looked on the Hp aus site nothing
-
My battery life isn't great either I don't think it's anything to do with a faulty laptop, but I have the 9 cell also and it helps a ton. I also tend to keep my backlight on full even on battery, so that can't help. I installed Granola and we'll see if I can see any difference.

Its pretty cold on mine
, should i be worried
-
-
CHECK IT NOW!!!!!!!!! Looks like I was correct in guessing there's no real delay. We simply missed yesterday's cut-off time. Mine is now listed as "Int'l shipment release", so I assume it'll say the same for everyone else.
Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get it tomorrow, the original estimated date (it switched to next Tuesday a few days ago)
BTW, does Fed-Ex deliver on Saturdays? I'm assuming no....? -

Thanks for the answers! This is the build I'm looking at:
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-450M Dual Core processor (2.40GHz, 3MB L3 Cache)with Turbo Boost up to 2.66 GHz
4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
FREE Upgrade to 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 switchable graphics [HDMI, VGA]
15.6" diagonal High Definition LED HP Brightview Widescreen Display (1366x768)
TouchScreen with HP TouchSmart's intuitive multi-touch applications (includes HP TrueVision Webcam)
FREE Upgrade to Blu-ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
Intel Wireless-N Card with Bluetooth
Backlit Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader
9 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (over-sized)
Microsoft(R) Office Starter 2010
No additional security software
HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope
Btw, for security, I recommend NOT using Norton. It bogs the computer down, and really does a crap job with protection. I've been using the free version of Avast Anti-virus and I've had no problems. -
Sweet, I checked about half an hour ago and it was still under a clearance delay, but I just checked now and its cleared ^_^
-
Hmm mine just says "In transit".. oh well as long as it gets here tomorrow!
-
Does anyone else have a blu-Ray drive that clicks? It clicks if you push on it when closed and is a little flimsy when open. Nothing major, but just wondering if anyone else has this.
-
Mine has been cleared and will be here tuesday hopefully
-
Mine has the same delivery date as well. Wheres yours shipping to? Mines for Nc.

Can anyone with the fingerprint reader verify that when the computer resumes from sleep, it takes about 5-10 seconds for the fingerprint reader to initiate? It's just a tad annoying. Anyway to remove the delay? -
Was it worth it for me to get the i7-740 over the i7-720?
-
AFAIK, Fedex does not deliver on weekends. And my left palm rest stays cool, I have a SSD though, so maybe that makes a difference. I think I got the one (1) Dv6tse that they made right.
-
Regarding palm rests, sometimes mine is cold while playing BFBC2, while other times it warms up and sometimes gets uncomfortable. I'm trying to stick heat reflective tape on the under side to make the heat go down, but...it's kind of working?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not dv6 3000 series (3070 specifically) has embedded number pad buttons. I know they removed the number pad physically, but I couldn't find info on if it's been removed entirely.
Thanks -
I don't have a number pad on mine.

Has anyone managed to get a dv6t equivalent in the UK yet?
HP had all the core i3/5/7 dv6-3000 models listed until recently on their webpage but now only show one core i3 - the rest are AMD models (ugh).
why are they doing this? some advertising promotion?
France, Germany, Portugal and even South Africa all get the core i5 models... but not the UK.
However, in the UK, some retail sites are now listing a core i5 model now.. dv6-3060 (core i5 with ATI 5470).
its similar with the dm4t - only model listed on HP is the basic Intel graphics one .. yet a few places are offering the switchable graphics model.
is the HP website accurate.. or just a complete waste of space?
seems madness that I'm tempted to import and nip across to france or germany to buy a notebook. -
A lot of people's complaints about this laptop have given me second thoughts about getting one for myself.. should I be worried about purchasing one of these? Because specs-wise, it's got everything that I want in a laptop, especially the back-lit keyboard, which many laptops don't seem to have nowadays. Not to mention the fact that I'll be getting somebody in the States to get it for me here in Canada, since I can't customize it on the Canadian website, so returning it might be a little difficult, not to mention the warranty. So, is this laptop still any good? Are there any alternatives that I can look to if not? Thanks for any input.

Can anybody post pictures or provide links showing the 9 cell battery? Like a shot from the side showing how much elevation it adds
Maybe also a shot from the back
9 cell's a huge improvement over the 6 cell high-capacity, right? -
