Sorry to burst your bubble
-
Shipping tomorrow seems likely (and I'm going to be pretty pissed if that "in production" message is still there after 36 hours because I'll know it's bull at that point), but somehow, I see the August 31st ESD being accurate. -
MethodtotheMadness Notebook Evangelist
WOOOOO!!! It shipped!!!!
I cant wait!!!
-
Seriously, this seems like a good sign it'll ship tomorrow and get here Monday.
... I need to calm down. lol -

City Pig, I wonder if our laptops will ship/arrive at the same time, since we ordered at the same time. It would be amazing if it got here by Monday.
-
When did u guys all order? I ordered mine on night of the 16th. With an estimated delivery on the 27th
-

-
Well, this changes things. lol I ordered on the night of the 20th. In fact, it was almost midnight! Mine's probably going to ship on Thursday or Friday in that case. *shrugs* Oh well! The only real problem will be trying to rationalize that "Order in production" message staying there for 4-5 days.
I need it block HP's website before I go insane. lol -
A note to anyone who had read about the screen protector I mentioned. The 15.6" one is too small for the dv6t se (w/touchscreen). I have re-ordered the 16" and it should be delivered later this week. I will let you know if that one fits the screen appropriately.
-
Does the non-touchscreen version comes with bump top preinstalled?
Just wondering -
Thanks Cazper37.... I ordered the 15.6 viewguard on your recommendation... And have had it for afew days and haven't opened the envelope yet, Tho I don't get the TSE for a week...lol. Let me know how the 16" fits. I'll probably do an exchange if the 16 works..... Did you have any trouble exchanging?? How shy or short was the 15.6 and was it due to the widescreen? If I remember correctly the website I got it from has a link that will sense your screen if you log on with the laptop and compute/tell youwhat size you need...let me know how the 16 fits....
Thx!!!! -
Method.... What do you mean it shipped???? I thought you already had 2 TSEs.... A 7200 rpm you sent back after you ordered a 160 SSD? And compared the two....did you order a third? Lol
-
Man I'm still torn on ordering a second TSE only with the SSD to compare to the 7200 rpm I get in a few days...and return what I don't like. I've been reading alot on SSDs and some love it and alot say they're just not ready for mainstream yet...To many issues and too much work to keep running well and such? And the longterm viability jury is still out because they're still fairlynew?
Maybe I should just wait afew years and when the prices drop and memories increase buy one ten and swap the 7200 with one then? What would you do? -
Well my shipping got updated. Just got to Alaska and already leaving there. HOpefullly early tomorrow, it'll hit the continental US. Can't wait.

Lol by the time I could get another laptop, there will probably be 4.0ghz deca-core processors with 1gb of cache, 24 gb of MRAM standard, 1TB ssds standard, something better than blu-ray that will do like 4 times the resolution, and 1920x1080 resolution will be what you'd get on a low-end mini. Lmfao. -
MethodtotheMadness Notebook Evangelist
-
7200 rpm takes 10 sec to get into quicklaunch, about a min into windows with fingerprint reader in the way, ssd is around 7 sec nd into windows will vary but most people get 30sec-45sec
-
Micgoogle this didnt fix my problem
It just happened again! I was just browsing on firefox and my card stopped working and now my screen turned black. I can power it on but its just blank, and when I put an external the lines happen again
.. What do I do? I'm sure I voided the warrenty with aftermarket thermal paste, and I didn't buy it either HP warrenty..

Hey are there any tests anyone wants me to run when my laptop gets here?
-
4saken here are some answers from around web
First read this:
http://www.ehow.com/i/#article_5822145
Then try this advice
the reason this happens is because the graphics card is either loose burned out or jsut needs to be cleaned... to clean it use a pencil rubber in the gold tips that connect it, blow on the card to remove any dust build ups and reconnect the graphics card when done (make sure its clipped in properly).... different brands of computers will do different things such as the different coloured lines and screens flashing
turn the brightness of the display DOWN a notch or 2 when on AC.
if it works then, the inverter in the panel is failing. Also gently tap screen on the edges or press on edges when lines are visible
I know you opened up your laptop so maybe you missed or mixed up gpu heatsink and maybe this'll help.
I've corrected my issue, wIth Arctic Silver 5. My video card module in this laptop was recently replaced and I've read on the Sager forums that their technicians use AS5 exclusively. The vidcard has always run pretty warm, but I decided to tear into my laptop and pulled the heatsink/fan off the vidcard module and wouldn't you know it...the thermal paste had turned into thermal crust & dust. I cleaned everything up thoroughly and then applied a few tiny dots of AS5 directly to the GPU and replaced the heatsink/fan & cover. Double check intervals are all lined up properly -
So yesterday morning I was bummed to see the laptop was just leaving China and my ship date was the 27th. I wake up this morning to check it, and it's in Milwaukee!!! I'm 45 minutes away from Milwaukee. It hasn't said "out for delivery" yet, nor has the ship date changed, but I'm really thinking today is the day!
-
I recently got a DV6, the keys on the left hand side are really frustrating me (the calculator, print, internet and email keys) is there a way to disable them?
-
Mine hasn't shipped yet, still. I'm guessing it'll ship Friday or Monday. Maybe tomorrow, though at this point it's not going to get here on Monday obviously, and that means that I might not even have time to open it for a day or two anyway.I'm just going to relax. Or try to at least.
It's hard after a year of waiting, research, and saving being this close to showing results.
That said, I wonder if my choice to "downgrade" to the 500GB HDD from the free 640GB drive delayed my order... -
Woohoo, even better news, it's on vehicle for delivery!!! man I hate being at work for another 8 hrs
-
The news just keeps on coming. My brother just informed me that my laptop has been delivered. 530pm can't come soon enough
-
-
I'm just amazed it only 2 days to ship from china to Wisconsin

Hm well I think my laptop is on it's way to Alaska right now. The estimated delivery date is still the 27th. That would mean it would have to cross the US, get my local fedex place, get on the truck, and finally get to my door in two days after today. Actually, the estimated delivery is 27th of august at 10:30 in the morning. So really this thing has about two days from right now. I definitely won't be getting my hopes up.
-
-
Hey Method... Mines racing yours! It's due on the 27th as well by 10:30am... I'll believe it when I see it... Lol
-
Yeah same here. Got to Alaska yesterday and here today!!
-
Just got an email from school that a package just arrived for me. Double checked it with my computer shipping and yes it has arrived. I have 15 days to pick up any packages at the mail center at school before they get returned. I won't be at school for another 16 days. D'oh! Not to mention my HP Care Package which arrived about a week ago. Looks like I'll be shooting my school an email.

Oh, and I ordered mine with a SSD so maybe any change to the hard drive slows the order down.
+rep to you too -

Cazper37:
How off was the 15.6 Viewguard on the E2E Touchscreen? and where was is short? Did it just not cover the Bezel looking edge? I know you said you were going to order the 16" and see how it fit...any luck yet?
Does anyone have the exact dimensions of the Touchscreen Model Viewscreen? including the E2e? (Faux Bezel on edge and all)? I saw the dimensions somewhere but for the life of me I cannot locate it.
Thanks~ -
Skione in my sig, theres a link to dv6tse guide in it there should be dimensions of this laptop
-
MethodtotheMadness Notebook Evangelist
WOOOO!!! My laptop got to alaska just under 2 hrs ago, at 5:16!!! And even better: it left Alaska at 6:26 and is on its way here!!! No clearance delays whatsoever!!!
-
MethodtotheMadness Notebook Evangelist
Skione check your shipment info. Since you have the same estimated delivery date and time, wer'e probably on the same shipment.
-
I get the feeling the City Pig and I aren't going to be so lucky. -
Stay hopeful, so long as you don't overhype yourself.
-
I just got mine opened and powered up. So far it looks pretty nice. All I've done so far is do "HP's getting started" program when you first turn it on and installed some windows updates. Unfortunately, it's my week to clean at my house so Ive been preoccupied with that. But yeah, seems really nice so far. The fan on the computer is not "dead silent" in a dead silent room that is, but it's very low key and subtle. I'll update more as I go.
-
MethodtotheMadness Notebook Evangelist
Well I'll hope for the best for you guys!
