Do you have a dv6 or a dv7? That seems to be the difference among those who are having their April orders shipped.

Please use the multi-quote function (as shown in this post) instead of making separate posts for each person you want to quote.

The interesting thing is that I didn't get expedited shipping. It still went straight from China to Memphis.

No complaints, as long as it doesn't linger in FedEx Purgatoryville, TN for another several days.

    DV6 april orders are shipping.
DV7 the last I heard was orders from 03/23. My 03/21 is in transit. The date kind of varies a bit by a few days.

Nobody knows quite why the DV6 goes before the 7s. Maybe their circuit boards are different, I don't know. Calling HP will do you zero good. I had an e-mail contact for the person in charge of all customer support and she couldn't help me with production questions one bit. She did however check on her own the order status and let me know that it had shipped. I explained the multiple situations I was facing in the delays and she let me know that there was nothing done on her end that caused it to ship any sooner than it did.

FYI the status on HPs website showed that my order shipped about 24 hours before I got the e-mail.

I ordered my Dv7t March 25 and it shipped April 24th it is now in Memphis, Tn. and should be here tomorrow but there is a clearance delay. I called up FedEx and apparently they have a bulk shipment of 529 pcs from HP but HP's paperwork/documentation isn't right. So the faster they correct it the faster i get my dv7t. I have a feeling that if it weren't for the delay I would have my laptop in my hands right now... :(

Maybe hp thinks "well, he is already delayed, so lets delay him a little more and the new once, lets not delay them in order not to give 10% off"

Or you can also think about it like this: "HP SUCKS!", whatever way you want :)

If I get another delay its over, im getting a sager. I dont need the OS and the final build comes to the same cost just with a 540m instead of a 6770m. Ill live with it (it has a better screen anyway).

I just got offered 10% at xotic after chatting w/ them and telling them you are trying to decide whether or not to buy a sager from them or wait for HP.

Just for reference Sager 5160 custom is 6 to 12 days build time. You can rush production for 49.99 and then it will ship in 2 to 5 days. This comes from one of their sales reps. They can ship within 2 days if you do not customize it at all.

Just a heads up for anyone looking at an alternative.

I ordered my dvt7 on 4/2/11. Est shipping shows 4/25/11. It's not even being updated. I'm working my way through college taking classes online. My summer class start next month. I am so screwed, but I would rather have a delayed laptop that works for a good price then a laptop with a recalled motherboard that companies like apple, asus, dell, and other companies are still selling. I won't complain to much, but HP should not have over promised shipping dates. What laptops would u guys suggest if I really get in a bind.

Doh! No 10% off coupon for me. I was hoping for a second delay to receive the 10% off coupon for my current order.

My order date was April 1st with an estimated build date of April 18th.

On April 19th I received an email that it was delayed until May 2nd and received a 15% off coupon on my next order.

I received an email notification last night from HP that my laptop had shipped.

FEDEX shows it was picked-up in Shanghai, China and due to be delivered on April 29th.

I'm praying it gets here by Friday because I'm traveling all next week and if it doesn't it would be like getting a delay notification witout the 10% coupon.

I know I shouldn't be complaining about not getting a 2nd delay when everyone else seems to have been experiencing 2-3 weeks delay and I only one, but I really wanted that 10% off.

    My specs:

    dv6t Select Ed

To all of you who are currently waiting for your laptop, just pick up your phone and call HP resolution department. Tell them a story (whatever your play is) that you really need your laptop asap, and ask them to send your request to higher management.

Some in here did, and their laptop is on the way to their home, including me.
    Dv7t Order date: 04/01,
    est.shipped: 18/04,
    "first" delayed to 25/04,
20/04 called HP to play a part,
    shipping notification received on 21/04.

Why do you hesitate? Try doesn't hurt anyone.

I highly doubt that calling them does anything and that laptops being shipped after calling is just a coincidence.

Why? Because I've called at least half a dozen times and spoken to managers and their managers. I've spoken to managers in the business section, I've spoken to managers in the customer service section. I even spoke with the woman in charge of all customer service (was really great when I finally dug up the number for corporate offices stateside!).

The sad thing was that nobody could help me. I needed this laptop to get to me as I'm going out of the country in early May. Everyone said they couldn't influence production/shipping in any way. I got over $150 in discounts just for the shipping delay and I told them that they could keep it all if they expedited my order and they still said they couldn't do anything.

I'm pretty sure if someone in charge had the option of saving the company $150 and a future customer just to get one of thousands of laptops bumped up it would have been done.

The customer service is crummy, and you will have a very hard time getting ANYTHING out of them. The laptops are moving, and there appears to be no rhyme or reason for some people getting theirs before others.

I'd like to buy that book. lol

First of all, in this thread, Ramiman82, who is the first person (to me) that succeeded in persuading HP of shipping out his laptop through his play even though his order date was 04/01.

Second is me, I followed what he wrote in his post and call them on 20/1 (For I didn't call them on 18/04, I received the delay notification to 25/04 on 19/4. I bet if I had not call them, they would have sent me up to 2 more delay notifications) but different play to him that "I'm going out of country in early of May" (we have the same idea at this point, Schnit) and my laptop shipped the day after, which was 21/04.

My notebook is DV7t-QE and order date was also the same with Ramiman82, 4/1.

Then, I immediately pmed iamkingvn, who also placed his DV6T-SEon 4/1, to call and ask Resolution Agent to send request to higher management where is in touch with their factory in China. And he too succeeded when his laptop also shipped out the day after his call (He also received delay notification like mine).

Finally, I do recommend people to have a call, it's very simple and doesn't hurt anyone. And I'm sorry for your try that didn't work well, Schnit.

Additional info. : none of us received shipping delay discount on the current order, only 15% on next purchase!

I just got Notification of Ship Delay with the following content:

    Dear XXX,

Due to product constraints we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 5/3/2011 or no later than 10 business days from the original estimated ship date. However, if we are able to complete your custom order prior to that date we will ship it out and you will receive a shipping notification e-mail.

If you prefer not to wait you may cancel your order by either replying to this e-mail message with your order number or calling our toll-free customer service number at 1-888-476-3988 option #3 between 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M. Eastern Time. If you choose to cancel your order, your refund will be released by HP within 24-48 business hours of cancellation confirmation. The posting of your refund to your credit card, e-finance, or PayPal account is subject to your bank’s processing time which usually takes 3-5 business days.

If we do not hear from you before we ship your order, we will assume you have agreed to this shipment delay and still want your custom order. As soon as your order is ready for shipment, it will be assigned a tracking number with our carrier and you will receive a Shipment Notification e-mail from us. You can then check your tracking number online to obtain the estimated delivery date.

We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and thank you for your patience.

    Sincerely,
    Customer Service
HP Home & Home Office Store

Orderd 4/4, eta 4/25, No any discount offerd from HP, so should I contact them to request 10% discount?

Well my dv7 is also in Memphis,TN and I called up Fedex and their excuse for the computers not shipping was actually because HP srewed up the docuemtation and they can't release the computers until it is corrected by Hp :( he told me my computer is 1 of 529 being stuck in transit. Truth is if HP hadn't screwed up we would all be enjoying our computers... well the ones who laptops are stuck are in Memphis,TN.....

Just a quick bit of advice. I would reccommend that anyone who hasn't had their laptop ship yet either call in or online chat a CSR. I just chatted for a while about my possible 3rd delay and the exact amount I can expect to recieve in discount, and much to my amazement, the 10% discount for my second delay was not added. Ask your CSR to go through and explain exactly what you are being credited for and make sure it is all there! I would have lost out of $99 if it wasn't for that effortless and painless chat session.

What is HP doing? OMG I couldn't imagine more...it's just paperwork...they can scan it in then send it to Fedex hub. It's not too hard, isn't it?

Edit : Bag3l, check it out!!! The status now changed to Apr 26, 2011 6:35 PM Int'l shipment release ANCHORAGE, AK

Do you guys think that our laptops would be arrived on the Fedex's estimated time?

HP Build/ship times are horrible i will never order from them again! I ordered a HP pavilion Dm1z on 4/7/11 only upgraded ram and i got an estimated build/Ship date of 4/25/11, today i got a shipping delay email with a new date of 5/5/11! wow 28 days for a COMPUTER COMPANY to build a COMPUTER, its just insane.

so first I chatted with CS rep online to see if i can get shipping upgraded, so I don't have to wait until 5/15-5/17 because of 5-7 day shipping and I was told that they cannot change the shipping and that there was nothing she could do but she basically told me to call in and speak to a supervisor and that they might be able to do something.

So next I called CS Rep whom of course was Indian and hard to understand. She informed me that i can use the coupon that i received with my shipping delay notification for 15% off my next purchase, I told her very politely that they can not trick me into ordering anything from HP again, because like most Americans I need instant gratification, its very hard to wait 30+ days for something you've already paid for, so eventually she offered me 20 dollars back which is like 5% of my purchase price and i Denied, then asked to speak to a higher up, and after complaining for a few more minutes with her supervisor i eventually got $40.00 back which isn't bad but i would rather have my Laptop NOW.

Again, FedEx is good with their dates. Lets hope FedEx > HP when it comes to dates (which frankly is very easy to be better at since we're talking about HP here.)

I ordered the dv6tqe. Specs are in my signature. Best of luck to the Memphis recipients. I hope the storm doesn't do anything to the laptops :(

    YOO HOO!

Now to actually fly out to Memphis, then distribute to the local areas. The only way I can see them meeting the 28th ship date is flying them directly to the local areas. If they have a distribution center in Anchorage, it is a possibility, but I bet they got through Memphis first.
