If all goes according to schedule, I could get mine a day early.

Hello everyone! First off I like to thank all of the members for their help and input regarding these computers. Everyones comments have been helpful to me. This is the first time that I'm posting anything here. I just received my shipping notification this morning and thought I would share this information. My order has shipped EARLY, 6 days before the est. ship and built date of May 2nd. I have not called them to complain to get my laptop shipped faster, it just happened. I order the laptop on April 9th.

FedEx currently has 4 planes on their way to Anchorage from the US. Perhaps one of those will pick up our little babies and bring them closer to home!

Does anyone have the link that shows the location of your fedex package? I can't search the thread, it returns no results for any query I do.

FlightAware > Live Federal Express Corporation Flight Status

That doesn't show your actual package, but the FedEx planes in flight. Once it leaves Anchorage, you should be able to figure out which plane it is and follow it. :)

    ---

BTW, I have NEVER been able to get the search option to work on this site.

After almost four days in a clearance delay in Alaska, its been finally released.

IF it arrives tomorrow as stated, I will have received my notebook only 1 MONTH AND ELEVEN DAYS after placing my order.

Not too bad eh ?

Still in clearance delay at Memphis....

At least HP went so far as to actually build the darn thing. It would've been nice if they provided the proper documentation to clear customs in a timely manner though.

I had this same problem about 8 years ago with a compaq I ordered. sat 2 days in customs. I was hoping they had fixed that particular process problem by now.

I got an email this morning from HP saying my dv7t Quad has Shipped - EARLY!
Ordered 4/10, est build date = 5/2, shipped 4/27. No FedEx status yet just that shipping info received. It also says est delivery = 4/29. I did not pay extra for 2 day shipping. We'll see...

Sucks to be us Homer, got a delay notice last night with revised date of 04/29, and I ordered mine on 04/04. And yet orders after the 4th have shipped.

I'm aware at this point I shouldn't be surprised this is how HP operates, as we've heard these stories for the past month and a half, but it's sill annoying. >.<

Let us know how it goes. I contacted CS this morning telling them that orders placed after mine were shipping. They best they could come up with was "I don't think HP would do that" - what a waste of time it is talking to them.

Just spent the last hour on the phone with FedEx and HP. As of about 45 minutes ago, FedEx still hadn't received paperwork from HP for the 529 units still on "Clearance Delay" in Memphis. Calling HP, I ended up back with the Resolutions dept. Initially, according to rep HP had already sent the necessary paperwork. Explaining to her that I had, just 15 minutes before, spoken to FedEx, she put me on hold, then came back to tell me that the "latest" info she had was from yesterday morning ... that I could track my status on the FedEx site.

I requested and got the California HQ phone. Speaking to a rep there and asking what could be done to build a fire under someone, all she could tell me was that she was "escalating" the issue to her manager and that that manager would update me later today by email. Yada! Yada!

can anyone provide me with a model number of a dv7 that was ordered after march 24th so that I can give it to HP. Just the model number not the order number.
THey said there are no models ordered after mine that have shipped. Which I know from this forum is a lie.

I don't see a model # on my order. I am wondering if my order was somehow expedited? I originally ordered a quick ship dv7-4295 then later found this forum and all the coupon codes. I returned the dv7-4295 to get a new, better model for less $$. In my email to HP about why I was returning the 4295, I sent them screen shots showing the 4295 but the "Demo" video was for a dv7t Quad, umber color, USB 3.0 (4295 did not have USB 3), extra speakers, etc. Maybe calling them out on their errors got me bumped up?

The only differences between yours and mine:
    1. I ordered 18 days before you.
    2. I ordered both batteries.
    3. They shipped yours.

Would you be willing to PM your order number to me?
(not your phone number or other identifying info)
I'd love to give somebody in Resolutions an order number that's shipping that far ahead of mine.

This is getting really annoying how FedEx is holding it so long.

Not necessarily. Flying it out tomorrow could mean they fly it out at about 3am Alaska time, which is about 8am here. A 5 hour flight (max) will take it to 1pm. That would leave them a 3 hour window to get it to my house. They said by 4:30 i would get the unit. I think they can do it!

I really don't mind the wait that much. After taxes, the original price was $975. Now it is down to $790 ($743 before taxes) after two 10% discounts for the delays. Heck, maybe I can squeeze another 10% out of them. Just happy that I do have a good computer during the wait.

Possible, but unlikely. It's in the morning that they load the trucks for the day's delivery. I would love to have it arrive tomorrow, but I can't see it getting to Memphis, being resorted, flown to the Twin Cities, and out on the trucks for delivery in time.
