That is the standard 1st delay e-mail. We all got it.

is the coolsense software in that sw folder?
-
I'm noticing a few people that had a ship date of 4/27 have actually shipped in the last couple of days.
Hoping mine is sitting, ready for pickup :/ -
I recieved my notification yesterday. It says,
"The revised estimated ship date for your order is 4/25/2011 or no later than 10 business days from the original estimated ship date."
Didn't get any sort of discount coupon with it though. After having to pay taxes and barely getting in under a grand, it would be nice to get something extra. I'm thinking about trying to get them to send me the caddy for the second drive bay. I bet if they did, they'd probably send the wrong one since they just changed body on this thing. That would be my luck. -
The computers that were shipping 3 weeks ago had both caddies in them. (but only one SATA cable) I haven't heard from anybody who got a dv7 recently and opened up the drive bays, but assume it's still the same deal.
So far I haven't found a source for the cable.
The whole drive hardware kit with cables is here:
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts -
"Due to product constraints we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 5/3/2011 or no later than 10 business days from the original estimated ship date. However, if we are able to complete your custom order prior to that date we will ship it out and you will receive a shipping notification e-mail. "
This is really stinks because I have the dv7 4290us that I need to return by 4/30. I now have to go back to my old computer for more than a few days. -
So the delayed ship date came and went (4/15), still no email or tracking number from HP.
I called, asked "?" and they told me it's now delayed to 4/27 and gave me an additional 10% off.
What, you weren't going to tell me about it, HP?
At least this thing keeps getting cheaper the longer I wait. Good thing I still have my old laptop and desktop to keep me going. -
HP has coupon for 33% off but Estimated build date: May 18, 2011 ??? i want to bite but a month of waiting is too much...this is not IPAD2
-
Just curious why you are sending the dv7 4290us back? Problem with it?
-
Don't plan on a month. Plan on 1.5 months.
-
LOL my march 23rd order just got delayed to May 13th.
is that. Im calling corporate headquarters number in about 15 minutes when they open. This is the most BS I have ever dealt with.
However
my DV7 with all options including 160GB SSD and 500GB 720rpm is now under $1k with all my credits. But Id still rather pay the 1400 and have it now. -
Would love to be able to comment on how the laptop is, but...
Order date: 3/26. Original ship date: 4/11. Delayed to 4/19, which has come and gone with no further updates... REALLY ANNOYED. This was a birthday gift for a party coming up THIS WEEKEND. -
You will probably get the delay email today/tonight.
-
Well, I got my cancellation confirmation email. Can't say I am disappointed at this time. One of the reasons I ordered an HP instead of Dell was the earlier estimated shipping date, but it all turned into a clusterf$ck obviously. I can probably order a Dell today (estimated 5/2) and still get it before the HP from last month would have arrived.
Good luck to you dudes.
For what it's worth, my timeline: 3/29 (order), 4/13 (Initial Estimated Date), 4/22 (First Delay Date), 4/16 (Cancel request), 4/20 (Cancel confirmed).
-
Am I the only person that has a order date as far back as 3/17 that still hasn't shipped??
-
I will save a few bucks, get a better video card, and get USB 3.0.
I got a recall email a while back because of the defective chip set. I figure I would be stupid to not return this and get the better, cheaper laptop.
I have no problems with my laptop at all now. Just a change of plans now because I was expecting to get my new laptop this week. I was going to make sure everything is running how I want it and then return the 4290us. -
I also ordered on March 17, and still has not shipped.
-
When you get it, can you confirm if it's really the 6770M?
-
Defective computer from last winter?
I thought they extended that to 5/15 because the replacement computers are delayed? -
No problem, I do know speedking261 confirmed it does come with the 6770, he also did a review, its on page 326 of the owners lounge.
-
Hey, wait. I ordered my dv6tqe on April 11 and my build date is also on the 3rd of May. Hmm.... Do you suppose the laptop will be delayed?
-
My 3/18 hasn't shipped.
-
My 3/22 hasn't shipped. Yesterday 4/19 I got a weird delay notice. It said I was delayed until April 27th. I got a notice on 4/14 telling me April27th so nothing new there.
That was a close one. Almost got my 4th delay
-
Yes. I didn't get another email from Walmart saying it was extended.
-
OMG...some orders on 03/17, 18, 22 still havent shipped. Then when will I receive mine, which was placed on 04/01? Aaaaaa...HP is driving me crz.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HP? I have canceled my ENVY due to delays, now I dont want to do the same thing on Dv7T. -
Most of us, (myself included) haven't cancelled our orders due to the great deal we got with promo codes.
Otherwise, I would of cancelled a long time ago. -
HP dug itself into a huge hole. It just lost hundreds of future customers after this epic delay fiasco haha.
-
Well you're not receiving yours before I receive mine. I ordered on 3/31, and i'm delayed to 5/2
-
In theory you would think so, but alot of people with build/delay dates later than others have recieved their tracking numbers earlier. i/e: someone with a 4/20 delay date recieved shipment while someone with a 4/18 delay date got further delayed.
There really seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how HP is fullfilling their orders. In my oppinion first come first serve would be the easiest, but i'd imagine thats too complicated for HP at this point. -
Can someone please confirm that the quick ship model does not have the defective chipset?
-
This was answered in the Owners forum for you when you asked it there....
-
I finally received an answer after posting both messages
-
OK, so I've read a ton of posts from the owners forum and there is a great deal of speculation for the delayed shipments.
I suppose HP has all the Quick-ship models to make along with the store models. Would it be wrong to assume that our laptops have lower priority and that our orders are just squeezed in if parts are available?
Also do the delays affect both dv7 and dv6 models, or just components they both have in common? Key components that have caught my eye would be the 7200rpm HD, 9-Cell Battery, Radeon(TM) HD 6770M, and the Bluetooth Wifi card. All of which I have customized in my order, and excluding the video card, are not available in the quick ship model. -
Ah, yes. If you bought it from a retailer, you should take it back when the retailer wants it back. I guess I just assumed everybody bought them at HP.com with the '$500 off on $1399 or higher configuration' coupon back in January. I wish I'd done that. I'd have a computer right now to use until my March order ships, and I'd have paid $100 less for my March order. (they let the owners of defective laptops reuse their $500 coupon and stack it with the $150 instant rebate)
-
I thought I got a pretty good deal on this laptop. I remember just missing the $500 coupon, so I got the next best deal which was at Walmart for the 4290us.
I just hope my laptop doesn't get delay again because I will be going on a trip May 18th. And need the laptop before I leave. -
Finally, shipping notification from HP after a month and 2 days.

Does anyone find Norton slows down their PC or have they gotten better? I haven't used them in a long time. Just Wondering. -
I'm going to uninstall Norton and use Avast.
-
Just got my shipping notification!
Ordered 3/21, est 4/5, delay to 4/15, delay (and 10% off) to 4/27, shipped on 4/20! To whoever said they are working on orders placed around 3/20, I think you were right!

How did you get this price if you wouldn't mind sharing with us? Does it include tax? Thanks.

It has improved significantly. I had it on a Samsung I purchased (and returned) recently. Seemed to work well. Very different interface than older versions as well.
-
3/21 and still no ship here damn you all to hell!
-
Yesss @ all the shipping notifications! Lets get moving HP please!!!
-
I don't think there is an consistency. I ordered my dv6 on 3/17 and still nothing.
-
Well hopefully you'll get it tonight or tomorrow. What is the most recent delay date for you?
-
awesome man! I don't think it has anything to do with date ordered, i think it's luck
-
3/31. 4/8. 4/11. 4/20. 4/27.
And I'm moving may 5th...hah -
I ordered mine on March 24. It is delayed until tomorrow so I guess we'll see what happens. But I really don't think I'll see it until May
