How long Does it take HP to ship custom notebooks?

Since when did HP start shipping via France?

I thought they all came through alaska.

The estimated build date on the hp website was August 24th.


The weekend made the shipping time longer.

 

Does this mean it went through customs already?

Hi, I ordered my G60t customized laptop on August 11th, and it shipped out today Tueday the 18th, one day earlier than it was estimated. It says I should recieve it Monday the 24th. Is there anyway I could possibly get it early?

Got it today, monday the 24th. The day it was supposed to be built by.

 

This sucks, take a look.

My package was in Newark, NJ. Only a couple hours from me (MD). For some stupid reason they decided to ship it all the way to Memphis, TN. Over 15 hrs away, but it went in an hour (mustve flown). I know HP has an HQ there, any ideas?

BTW- i bought and returned an HP laptop, because i found a better deal. the one in TN for no reason is the better deal....I shipped previous laptop to HP in TN, this is how i know they have a base there. I hope it's not related....

 

HP has their distribution center in TN.
I believe all the domestic orders ship from there.

 

no it started out in china, then alaska, then nj. (just like my previous shipment) but unlike my previous laptop which went from nj to md, this when went backwards to TN!

 

I ordered an HP DV7 Quad on 12/25/10 with minor customization and it shiped today 1/07/10 from Shanghi and its going to Toledo,OH and im excited does anyone know about how long that will take i estimate it will go through Detroit but alot of you say anchorage and it would be cheaper to Detroit for fedex so does anyone have any idea?

Mine is Item Processing. Does that mean In Production or what? I have been charged so that is taken care of...

I ordered my custom dv8t from HP on the 20th of April and it had a built date of the 29 but it was built and said item shiped on the 27th, it is now stuck in shanghai for the past day and a half and the tracking summary says nothing except:

It's been stuck like this for the last 24+ hours. and it says "shipment exception" under where it says in transit.

when should i expect it? it says delivery date of the 30th but it still hasnt moved according to the tracking site. should i call them?

Edit: ok I called fedex today and they said that because the package was picked up after the cut off on the 27th (shanghai time) it was attempted to be put on the plane today but the flight was already full. So the lady said it would ship out on Thursday their time, which would be Any time now our time

 

I originally ordered a custom dv4i on 4/15/2010, but I changed the shipping/billing address and CC# from the last time I ordered from HP. This flew a red flag and the order was denied. I called and talked to a few people and went through a series of questions and return calls to prove who I am. I suppose this is a good thing. Anyway they created a new order # and got me the same build date of 4/26/2010. It actully got built sooner and showed up here on the 26th! It went from Shanghai China to Anchorage AK, and then Memphis TN which is the main FedEx shipping hub. If anyone has problems call HP sales (1-866-246-0504) and ask for Rex. He knows what he's doing and got the thing moving along faster that some of the other sales people do. I was very suprised to see this here half way around the world this soon let alone before the end of the month. Thanks again HP!

 

I just wanted to post this I got my HP TouchSmart Tm2t in just days i did the 5-8 day shipping option and you you see below it didnt take 5-8 days.

I just want to say thank you to those who posted this info if becuase mine matched someone else and I was able to be ready for it when it arrived.

I originally ordered an HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition customizable Notebook PC on March 26, 2011.

My online order receipt states:
"Estimated ship date:
Your customized HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition customizable Notebook PC will be built by April 11, 2011"

April 12, I received an email that begins:
"Due to product constraints we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 4/19/2011 or no later than 7 business days from the original estimated ship date. However, if we are able to complete your custom order prior to that date we will ship it out and you will receive a shipping notification e-mail."

It is now April 20 and I have yet to receive an update. I've called them multiple times. The first was the day after I received the notice of delay. The Hispanic woman I spoke to sounded sympathetic and said she'd put a note in the file that I was looking to have this no later than the 23rd of April (it's a birthday present for my brother -- the party is Saturday, April 23). If I understood her correctly, they would be expediting the shipping because of the delay.

However, I called yesterday morning (April 19) and they had no updates for me. "We send emails out after 6pm, so check your in-box when you get home and if you don't see anything, call us back," the next guy tells me.

So at about 10:30 last night I call them back, as I still didn't have an update. And guess what? They still don't have an update for me.

Apparently, a lot of people are being affected, too.

COME ON!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

 

Agh, ordered my envy with an estimated shipping date on the 19th.
Tracking number just got updated and reported it got sent on the 20th.
Anybody know my chances of receiving my laptop on the 23rd?

I ordered a custom EliteBook 8460p on April 5th and got an estimated ship date of April 21st. However, 5 days later this changed to May 2nd. I see I am not the only one dealing with lengthy and changing ship dates.

 

god why the hek did they have to take their time on this order? I'll be leaving the country indefinitely on the 23rd...arghhh

 

HP is unfortunately experiencing order delays on some of their custom built systems due to extremely high demand for particular components – it is known that it is right on the heels of a strong Mega-Sale.

They are reviewing this on a daily basis. They certainly understand (and share!) your frustration – and are working hard to get a definite ship date. They should provide an update to you through email as soon as they can – they appreciate your understanding.

I am also waiting for my Envy I ordered...

 

The most frustrating thing about the delays are the comments from CSRs and the Resolutions personnel that they don't know what components are in short supply because Manufacturing won't tell them. If this is just evasion, then it makes it seem as though HP is hiding something. If it's true, then somebody should be fired! If HP were just honest with its customers, we would all likely be more patient and a lot more understanding of a company trying to deal with delays beyond it's control.

Of all the stories I'm reading on this thread, none hold a candle to mine! Specifically, an 8540w was ordered for me by HP Corporate Executive Case Management on February 8, 2011, then re-ordered (reason unclear) on February 23. I have had 6 delivery date changes and there is no end in sight. I have asked many of the good contacts I have in HP Order Management, Customer Relations, etc, but no one can help, though all assure me they have no experience comparable to mine where in 8540w CTO estimate is now 9 weeks+ to receive! As my post shows,

I do think the corporate "ECM" unit in Ontario has to be part of the problem. They are rude, arrogant, uninformative (I get my info from others a week before they get around to telling me of the latest delays!) and they absolutely refuse to order a different product for me, given that I never ordered or wanted an 8540w but was TOLD that was what they were giving me because my Envy 14 Radiance was irreplaceable. There are about 8 different HP models I would be happier to have, and as bad as some of the stories here are, the time delay for them is NOTHING like mine!

Can you confirm delays as bad as 9 weeks for an 8540w? No one here has posted orders in February still not received and the honest answer from Order Management is that the latest "estimate" of April 28 is not meant as a likely ship date, just an automatic 2 week additional delay since the April 14 date came and went.

Wow, how about checking local 'stores' for sales and in-stock status.

 

I missed the my laptop basically by a day because hp finished the laptop later than expected. The 30$ expedited shipping definitely would have been worth it for me. I probably would have received the laptop on April 22 if it wouldn't have been stuck in Newark (it took them 14 hours) but anyways...

I just ordered a dv6 over three weeks ago too, and guess what..... Same prob here! I think we deserve a free mouse pad or something. I know I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but dammit!

 

Im at the 16 day mark waiting. I ordered a Pavilion g6t with nothing more than the free upgrades and in Pacific Blue. I called the other ay and the guy pretty much GUARANTEED that it would ship today and wow what do ya know..nothing. Then I chatted with the lady, she told me its still in production and if they couldnt ship it out today that they would send out a email tomorrow night..WTH? if you send it out a email tomorrow night, dont ya think its kinda obvious that it didnt ship the day before. Then I asked if I could get a refund because I needed the computer she said we cant process refunds until the computer ships, what sense does that make. They need to do something NOW because this is ridiculous and I refuse to flunk my classes because they wont give my money back so I can go get a actual computer not buy a deposit on one.

 

I just checked stock at three local office max stores. They have multiple versions of the g6t in stock and priced 'on sale' that matches current HP on-line coupons.

One of the people I talked to said that OM quietly matches HP on-line coupons as long as the on-line configs are reasonably close to the in-store stock.

If I was really curious I'd call Staples to see if their stock and match policy tracks what OM has, but I really don't care.

Ordering blindly from a web site thinking that this is the only way to get what you want is 'poor shopping'.

 

This is one "contest" I do not wish to win, but as posted earlier, my Elitebook 8540 was ordered February 23 and delivery has been postponed 6 times, now estimated at May 15!! There are some good reasons for not canceling this order - long ago - but once I get it shipped (I have proof that my case manager has taken my complaints out on me and pushed things later), I will be going to town all over that company and with govt regulators.

And I used to be the greatest HP loyalist on NBR! Bought over a dozen laptops from them in past 18 mos. Always found support people great to deal with, but presently am "entombed" in the "executive case management" department in Ontario, Canada, and they are just control freaks who taunt you with their power over you - seriously.

My hp laptop came exactly 9 days after i ordered it. The estimated arrival date was said 14-16 days so getting it in 9 days was surprising.

 

What model was it cwaz? Was it a quick ship model or a custom?

my dv7 is scheduled to be built by feb 8th. is anyone still experiencing delays?

 

I ordered the Envy 14 on Jan 23 and its expected to be built and shipped on Feb 8. It seems slow for me too. When did you order yours?

Estimated ship date: January 17th
Shipped date: January 11th
Delivery date: January 16th

Estimated ship date: Feb 8

Seems they are taking longer to build my replacement than they took on my original order (hopefully this one won't have any issues).

 

i ordered mine on jan 20th, i check the status like 50 times a day lol. i wanna call but i'm afraid it might cause a delay. the only thing i customized on the base model was the hard drive. i changed the 750g hd from a 5400rpm to a 7200rpm

 

ordered mine on the 29th and just shipped today. i heavily customized it i3-i5, amd graphics 1 gb, backlit keyboard, 650 g hdd 7200 rpm, etc. its suppose to arrive on the 8th so i dont know whats taking all of your laptops so long to build. i ordered mine from costco so i dont know if that effects the build process or not.

 

and how long do hp laptops last. ive had a hp desktop that lasted for quite a while but died on me while doing taxes and for some reason it works again.

 

I ordered mine on the the 19th of January and ship date is scheduled for Feb 7th. It's been a long wait. If you call them they are not able to do anything not even cancel the order. i called HP hoping they can ship it over nite since I choose 7 day shipping no success. They did remind if I'm not happy I'm more then welcomed not to accept the package or return it before the 21 days for a refund.

Costco sells laptops that are pre-built one of the reasons they can sell cheaper and they don't offer 1920x1080 screen on the dvt
