How long Does it take HP to ship custom notebooks?

This is a pleasant surprise. My TX2500z was supposed to be in production until the second of September, but it shipped yesterday.

Not sure when I should have it, but I wasn't expecting to receive it for another week and a half. Now, I'm guessing I'll have it sometime next week.

It's gonna be a long weekend... literally and figuratively.

 

A little concerned about my shipping date due to weather?


Well it says that my shipping date is due on September 24, 2008 by 10:30 am. Do you guys think that the date is due to the weather problems like IKE? Is it possible I'd get it earlier? How long did your guys' take from Shanghai to California? Please let me know. Thank you.

Dang it, I was hoping I'd get it on Monday. Any possibility? I thought it only took 2 days to ship from Shanghai to US?

My notebook is now in ANCHORAGE, AK. I'm confident I'll be getting it by Monday. It shouldn't take more than 1 day to ship from Alaska to California, right? If it leaves tonight, then it should make it to Cali by Sunday afternoon and into my hands Monday morning! Anyway, I'm stuck at home so I've been checking the fedex site every 6 hours.

Okay guys, my notebook is at the Fedex center near my house. Just got here at 6:30 am.

But the expected delivery isn't until Wednesay. What are teh chances they ship it today? Will Fedex hold it at the location until Wednesday? That would p*ss me off! Its at the facility that always delivers to me.

it only takes like 3 or 4 days once it's shipped.. forget 5 to 7 business days

Cept now it's been 48 hours . I noticed other people's tracking updated over Sunday/Weekend in this thread.. I don't get why ours has completely died.. in 48 hours it should have left Alaska by now

Is the estimated arrival date correct? I am going out of town but getting back July 5th, so I want to time it that my laptop will arrive within a few days of that... And what happens if they try to deliver it and I am not there, will they come back the next day? Wait several days?

 

Is this normal? I purchased my DV4t CTO notebook last June 29 and after 2-3days it went to ORDER IN PRODUCTION

As of now, July 5, 2009 it's still posted as ORDER in PRODUCTION..

Estimated Build Date is July 10, 2009

I'm pretty much worried about the shipment days since I badly need to receive the package on or before July 15 and I'll bring the notebook with me when I travel abroad. I cannot change my flight date ofcourse.

Any ideas??

 

For comparison I ordered a HDX16 on June 25th and it shipped one week later on July 2.. I'm expecting it tomorrw.. So if anything you will see it ship tomorrow. Once fedex has it, it'll be delivered in 2-4 days. But you will definitely have it by July 15.

 

I was informed by an HP rep recently that my package will probably drop off to the nearest FedEx Center here in San Bruno CA. The rep advised me that if I don't want to wait the usual 5 - 7 days of FedEx shipping I can just probably have it picked up.

Well she also said as soon I received the tracking number and confirmation I could just give them a call to advise FedEx Center in San Bruno CA and have them hold my package.

Is this for real? Did any of you guys picked up their notebook on any nearest FedEx Center?

 

I've picked up packages at both FedEX and UPS centers before; if it's convenient, why not give it a try?

 

I'm hating this waiting game! Look at this details..

Take note it's in PST Time. So it's already 5PM Cali, and my package is still in KUNSHAN CN? This is so freaking terrible!! How many hours will it take to move their package to SHANGHAI??

Good thread here. I am looking at purchasing a HP laptop. Yesterday the build date was July 17th. Now it's the 20th.

I'm moving the morning of the 31st. So I need it by then. Anybody think I'd be OK if I ordered today? I'm thinking I would be. It's an extra $10 to go from 5-7 business days shipping to 2 business days.

 

Unless they are out of a component part you require, they always seem to arrive before the scheduled build date, at least with the 2 day shipping. Mine left China on July 3 and was delivered July 6. They do ship and move them over the weekends.

 

That sounds good to hear. I have my system all configured already, just have it sitting in my shopping cart right now.

Like I said, 2-day shipping is only 10 bucks more, but I noticed that if I add an accessory(s) to my order, 2-day shipping is 21 bucks more. Am I better off getting the 2-day shipping either way, or should I be fine? Thanks.

 

I just ordered a little bit ago. Two-day shipping and it's estimated to be built by July 20th. Would be nice if I got it on a weekday next week.

They might be a little slower than usual now, I have been waiting a week (with build date of 7/15) and mine has not shipped yet. My last one arrived here two days before the build date.

 

Okay, mine was ordered 7/7 and has just shipped today 7/14.
The HP shipping date estimate was 7/15.

 

That was fast. I ordered mine on the 12th, and it had an estimated ship/build date of the 20th, but it shipped today. The 17th.

 

Inspect it very carefully, mine is already being returned. (My second one).
The keyboard was dented and sticking up, not even installed correctly.
I'm not going for three strikes.

But still not bad, ordered on the 12th with estimated build date of the 20th, and it's here on the 20th.

 

Est. Build date of July 22 and it's still in production (as of July 20th). I need it by this Friday... hope it comes.

Mine just got here about 40 minutes ago, appears to be in perfectly fine condition. I am pleased with HP's service, have never bought anything HP before.

I have to admit, I was worried. Knew somebody who had a HP printer go out after 1 year, and the same person's computer went out after 4-5. Still haven't turned on the PC, but so far I'm satisfied, especially in regards to delivery time. Heck, I could've ordered 5-7 business day shipping and it would've gotten here by the time I move.

Are the projected arrival dates usually the actual arrival date? Mine projects Monday so should I expect it then?

No. There is something on the FedEx website about it. Should be under Hold at FedEx Location.

My laptop appeared to be perfectly fine, until I turned it on. I was worried because of what Viper had to deal with. Now I don't have time to re-order the same laptop before I move next week.

Have to drop it off at FedEx tomorrow for return. Ahh!

well you can try calling fedex directly to see where ur local one is, my local one didn't have a phone number for me to call them so when i went to go pick up a package from hp i just asked them if they can hold another package for me and i just gave them the tracking number

 

Hm, I called Fedex and they referred me to another number to handle International shipping. I think I can get it sorted out. I'm guessing that it's on a plane currently because it's been in Shanghai for the last 30hrs or so.

Man, It shipped from China on Monday night and it should be at my door today! That's less than 3 days to ship, quite impressed.

 

The touchpad didn't work at all. Everything else was solid. They just received it back yesterday, and I got credited today. Fast return, I was expecting that because you said you got your money back within 24 hrs of them receiving it.
