How long Does it take HP to ship custom notebooks?

Ordered a 6500t on the 7th. Estimated ship date of the 18th. I'm PRAYING this thing ships quicker as I leave town on the 21st.

I cannot stop checking the status under HP.com, they already sent me my quick dock and remote control....Teases

 

does fedex require the package to be signed for? i had a problem last week where the tracking said delivered but there was no package at my doorstep. luckily the person who actually received the package was nice enough to deliver it to me later that night.

 

oh yeah it has to be signed for. i'm not sure of any company that would risk leaving your $500+ computer at your doorstep.
possibly some covered porches, but even then i personally wouldn't do it.

if you're not home in time you can call the local warehouse and go sign and pick it up there. had to do that a couple years ago with my girl's desktop

 

Has everyone noticed it ships on the day it says it will or are some early? what has been peoples experience lately?

 

mine shipped the day before (maybe due to shanghai time difference?)
arrived at my doorstep 2 days later, as well as a few others at the same time

i wouldn't guarantee it, but the trend has been to get your notebook earlier than expected. if it actually takes longer, complain to hp and they'll give you free stuff.

i ordered mine december 5th, supposed to ship december 14th. it's the 13th now and it's still in production. hopefully it'll ship tomorrow!

 

i also ordered on dec 5th and it shipped yesterday. estimated to arrive on monday. I wonder why yours is still in production. hope all goes well.

 

lol EXACT same boat. I have been reading all of these posts where they are saying "mine shipped 2 days early" and its bothered me why mine hasnt shipped yet. O well, im just hoping for it to have the 2-4 days shipping from china to pittsburgh

 

Just checked for the first time and it has shipped, or shipped yesterday in CN time. I'm not sure on the time difference, all that matters it has shipped.

no, mine hasn't shipped yet either. i called HP and they said it was definitely going to ship today, but i'm not sure if i quite believe them. the thing that kills me is that my roomate ordered his dv6500t two days after mine and it shipped like two days ago. the different specs are his is a 2.2 ghz processor and mine is a 2.0, he ordered a 120 gig hd and i ordered a 160, and he ordered 1 gig of ram instead of 2. the waiting game sucks! good luck with yours

just got off of the phone with their shipping department and they told me it would definitely be shipped by monday and I would recieve it before christmas. I wonder why some orders go out sooner than others.

 

by talking to californiasushi, we came up with the conclusion that it was probably the 12 cell battery that delayed our shipment. He got it and I got it, but his friend stuck with the 6 cell and his was shipped already.


But anyways, I received an email this morning that mine was shipped at 3:00am. Hopefully I can get it by Wednesday/Thursday.

I ordered mine on the 7th, dv9500t custom... mine is currently in Indianapolis and should arrive tomorrow.

I ordered mine on Dec 6, I received the tracking number on Dec 17, but still no info on FedEx site as of this morning.

 

Fedex just updated, its due to be deleviered on DEC 20! yay

Mine is a gift for the wife, so as long as I have it before christmas I am happy. Now just gotta make sure the kids dont tell her what it as because I will be at work and they will be home when its delivered!

 

Wow, all three of ours must be on the same shipment.

Mine is scheduled to be delivered the 20th as well. (FedEx just updated for me as well)

 

yeah, mine got updated to be delivered on the 20th. however, now it says shipment exemption and now it's to be delivered on the 21st.

 

Delivery date just changed to the 21st, hope that date sticks

 

Mine says Package received after FedEx cutoff , i guess it missed the flight

 

well i got an email at 2:00AM on the 17th saying it was shipped but on the fedex it says it was shipped on the 18th at 9:41....its 1:00PM on the 18th now.

So remember that the 21st in china is the 20th here.

 

But I am sure Fedex says the delivery time in local time, not china time.

I'm amazed at how fast you received your packages.... Mine has been in Indianapolis for almost 2 days now.... I guess I should chalk the wait up to excess Christmas shipping?

 

You all got yours before Christmas, thats great. The HP case manager just sent my order yesterday, friday the 22nd. Any chance it'll come before New Year? I'm hoping. I wanna be able to play with it and re-install the OS before school starts on the 4th. What do you guys think?

 

Finally, at 4:50pm it left the Indianapolis station.... Perhaps it'll get here by Monday after all...Geez.
