Hp Laptop Still Stuck In Indianapolis ( Clearance Delay ) ?!!?!?

Well hp is the number 1 computer maker, they just passed dell last year..
and the new notebooks i think are the hottest on the market so im not surprised.. anyway i got class peaceout

 

divinefool, any updates on your status? did you just do a standard order from the hpshopping site? anything special that might explain this ridiculous delay?

 

HP Pavilion d4790y..ordered by phone. Its just a standard desktop on hp website that I customized. My config is in this thread.. have a look.

Only special thing that may explain this ridiculous and disgusting delay is idiots working at HP who are bent at defying logic. Their sole aim is to prove that millions of dollars spent on supply chain management and corporate structure worldwide were a total and utter waste..

 

update is: I was informed on monday that all delayed components are in place, my rig will take 40 hrs to build and test and my order will ship on thursday. but on thursday they told me its going to ship on march 16. what?????????????????????

My notebook is scheduled for delivery on Monday, but no one is going to be home. Will FedEx (HP) require a signature for delivery? I would think so, but I remember finding my new Dell desktop sitting on my front porch when I got home a few years ago.

 

yes, they require a signature. but, on the 2nd day when they leave the slip on your door, you can sign it and request that they leave it at the door the 2nd time they try to drop it off. or you could simply pick it up.

 

Wow im blownaway after spending the day transfering files, apps, music to my new dv200t i finally tried some games.. halo and diablo2.. before halo had to run on the lowest settings, res, no detail, particales,etc.. being tech savvy i opened up nvidia in the control panel and maximized the gpu from portable to power and the game ran better than on xbox! even the gunshot sounds were on a whole new level, what was once sorta bland was very vivid and entancing, looks like ill be playing halo on my dv200t instead of continuning on my new copy of oblivion for my 360 ^_^

specs are 2.0 ghz c2d. 1500 ram (put in a gig right when unboxed it) vista home basic(aero will slow down your system) nvidia gefore 7200(i can feel the power ) 60 gig hd. 6 cell batter. Im on my older pavilion in bed right now while my new ones resting.. planning on giving this one to my sis after i reformat it probably tomorrow. other thoughts/ its a little bigger than i expected.. as big as my 15 inch, guessing thats the widescreen at work but its not as tall.. over all 10/10 no problems, no hicups, also vista itself can be a bit disorienting since your getting all this new gunk thrown at you.. different control schemes for files, the whole cancel/allow thing ..good job hp.

 

Mine finally shipped and looks like it's stuck in INDI. I guess we'll see how long it will take to get out of Int'l shipment release status. At least it has been shipped...

Sweet, i got a dv2000t 2 ghz/4MB,7200,vista basic,
Just ordered a backpack and extra battery off newegg.

 

It isn't hitting customs though, so Indy will not be an issue for you.

Doing awesome. I am terribly pleased with it. I was concerned about Vista, but my concerns have thus far proven fruitless. It is super fast, and the notebook burner I was concerned about has really turned out to be very impressive thus far.

Anybody who sits and waits as long as you did, without utterly losing it on an HP forum, deserves respect. So no thanks are required, really. I just hope your rig proves to be as awesome as all my HP gear has been.

 

Man...never wanted to go through the same ordeal again.
I could have canceled and reordered from somewhere else. But I got student discount while ordering + 10% discount for delay so overall saved money. Also I was not in hurry for the rig.
Lets just hope I get it on Monday and it works well. Also I hope the service support of HP is not like the one I faced for last one month.

My DV2000T was delivered today but cannot play with it till tomorrow after duty. It took 9 days from ordering it to getting to my front door.

That's great to hear. I just hope I have similar luck with my dv6000t. It's like I forgot what it means to be patient ! I can't wait .

 

Finally got to play with it and in the past couple of hours I've been quite impressed... It's well worth the wait.

 

Gah! Now my laptop is at Indianapolis with Clearance Delay. I'm probably just being impatient but it's not updated since 4AM. Hopefully, that will make it through today since I'm supposed to get it by 10 am tomorrow :/

Those of you that ordered and received your notebooks, is a clearance delay always the case with the variable being how long that message is up? Or does the nature of a clearance delay in general cause concern? Thanks.

Thanks Ag76. Yeah that looks different than mine. I'm going to assume my laptop won't make it for tomorrow morning as estimated It's still listed as 'clearance delay' at IN, unless they are just slow to update that (which they have been for all the other status).

I really hope I get it before the weekend.

 

tiesto81 i am having the issue as you are and i just called fedex to check and see if they could shed some light on the timeframe and they told me that my package had already cleared customs and that there is just a time lag on the website. i am assuming that since the paperwork required to clear customs is sent in bulk that your package has most likely already cleared as well. oh and i had ordered an HP laptop. so i was told that the estimated delivery date for tomorrow is still on schedule. hope this relieves some stress. i know it did for me.

tiesto81 yes that is pretty much identical to my information. i also ordered the dv9000. i just hope the rep that i talked to was right. good luck to us both.

 

stratokaster - I ended up calling fedex support just for grins to see if they would give me that same info. I got connected to their outsourced customer support and they told me it's still being held in customs, but if i wanted more information as to why that i could contact the IP distribution center directly tomorrow at 8 am (1-800-455-4588).

Hopefully, you spoke with the IP distrubution center and we're not getting the run around :/ I know at my old job the outsourced support used to have more basic tools than the internal CS so maybe you got someone that had access to real time data.

 

Mine is stuck in customs too:
I would think Customs would have cleared it in Alaska..

Fedex told be really not to expect it soon - that is prob wont clear customs for a few days but this was about 2pm ET on Wed- So I guess Monday or Tuesday for delivery now. - Told this is effecting about 1000 in this shipment
Over 30+ days now dealing with HP on this!

My HP notebook also remains stuck in Indianapolis. If that weren't enough I've also had a two week delay in shipping from China because of a parts shortage. What next? On the positive side however HP did send me a $50 HP Store coupon for "any inconvenience" I may have experienced. Give them a call $50 is $50.

 

Well mines a replacement computer - so i doubt i will get any $$
However just talking to fedex - they said it was incorrect invoices and it was sent to customs and if its cleared by 11pm CT - items will go out tomorrow

 

Geez - gets sent to our houses tomorrow or just gets sent out for us to receive them on Monday? This irritates me because it's completely HP's fault.

 

Yeah fedex basically told me the same thing. Don't expect to get it this week.

 

Hi guys, im sorry to say that my laptop is in the same situation too. I was hoping that it would come the expected delivery date (March 15, my birthday), but it seems ill have to wait due to the clearance delays (Its been so since 4am on March 14) . When you realize that the only thing keeping you from your slick lappy is a lazy secretary at hp who didnt send the clearance papers on time, it kind of makes [me] pretty ticked. Oh well...

The only thing I don't get is how the woman at fedex told me that no - there's no way I'd get it this week right after telling me that Fedex will get it delivered to me within 24 hours after getting cleared.

This would lead me to believe that they either don't anticipate them getting cleared today (due to the bulk of the shipment - i think she said something like 990 some items) or that the policy wasn't accurate. I know it's beating a dead horse at this point - I'm just frustrated because I have to work OT all next week for a deadline and was really hoping to play around with it this weekend. Oh well.

Plus - patience is a virtue I do not have. Hah.

Tiesto81, looks like our computers are stuck in Indy together. Mine was suppose to arrive today by 12noon, but tracking says it is still in Indy.

 

We are on the same shipment for sure. My tracking info and times are the same.

 

Yep - sounds like a bunch of us have goodies in that crate!

 

I just talked to HP they basicaly dont expect them for awhile!

954 pieces on this - need to clear as 1 - US Customs HAS received the paperwork and is now working on processing it - if it is processed and released by 11pm Central - then we should all see the notebooks tomorrow.

Though i dont see how it can take now 12 + hours to proccess - they have been processing since about 9:30am Eastern when I first called.

 

That would be great to receive them tomorrow - that was my thought as well. Although I wonder how long it takes to clear each individual item. What is involved in that process - do they take each out of the box and look?

 

well i just got off the phone with fedex and they have confirmed that whish you all have already said. the paperwork has arrived and now its just a matter of how long it takes all of them to be cleared. i also called HP and i was told by two seperate reps that whenever there is a customs delay all customers involved receive a $50 same as cash coupon. it is sent via email and should arrive around the sme time that your machine is realeased from customs. i also asked the fedex rep how long she thought it would take to clear now that they have the paperwork and she said that it varies greatly with each shipment. could take as little as a few hours to as long as 3 days. lets hope we can all have our computers in our hands by tomorrow.

 

I got lucky and avoided the delay, I ordered my DV2000T 3/3 and got to my door 3/12. Two days before it's estimated delivery date. I can symphatize because mine came in on a monday and it was a painful weekend not to be able to play with the thing and then when it did get delivered on the Monday, I had duty. Well, at least I am not in the same predicament and very happy with the computer...

 

I guess its just a matter of time, the most any of us can do is call and check the status. Other than that, I found that my dv9000z is cargoed up with 275 other computers. The Fedex representative said the paperwork might be in, but she could not tell for sure. I guess I'll just have to wait another week, I was so hoping on playing oblivion on my new lappy before spring break ended .

 

Talked to HP - there is now multiple shipments - 3 of them have the paperwork 1 other does not even have it yet -

Thus there is a hold on it and to expect it FIVE business days - so i amnot even going to see my notebook from HP now next week!

34 - days since all this started with my notebook!
