Also, how's the fan noise under stress? I've been lurking here for quite awhile, and hopefully should have mine by Friday. I'll definitely post my thoughts after playing with it for awhile.

I got an Envy 17, so I'll be posting the numbers on that thread so I don't confuse people here. -
That being said, the 7750M has a 36W tdp while the 650M has a 45W tdp. Not to mention that the 7750M has lower stock clocks. Only 575 mhz compared to the permanent 835mhz turbo on the 650M. So we may think that the 7750M should be a better overclocker. Plus drivers improvements.
It seems to be a very solid gpu. -

im thinking evilmonk fell asleep -
my predictions were closeit is a 48% boost so far

So I talked to another rep online today, and this time, I was told that though the order status page shows that estimated ship date was yesterday, if I didn't receive a delay order notice, then the order might possibly have shipped already.
It's really interesting what they come up with each time... -
Not having a whole lot of luck monitoring temps:
GPU-Z hangs on startup
HwInfo says 224 degrees C for the GPU so thats clearly wrong.
Any other ideas?
Furmark starts at 45 C - after 2 min, holding at 60C, with fan on a quiet hum, not bad at all. At 5 minutes, it is exactly the same - 61C and minor fan noise. Definitely seems like some room to OC here. Top of PC is completely cool, bottom is a tiny bit warm, but fine. This is on a flat surface. -
---
could u possibly try OCing it?or just gaming benchmarks (in 1080p if u got it)

called hp that moron told me its still in production and will ship on june 12. I had to remind her its the 13th to which she said there is no updates and wait for an email -
For those who received the laptop, how do the colors look (especially the dreaded orange/red). Thanks!!
-
there are 3 things i really want to know
1. how is 1080p screen compare to dv6t 7xxx
2. 7750 vs 650m (real games if possible)
3. temp around WASD and both palm rests. -
I would've somehow embarrass her >.<
Oh it's not just HP customer support these days are the dumbest people... -
2) the 650m is slightly faster at stock speeds due to greater tdp and turbo boosting abilities
3) temp is going to be cooler than the dv6

I've yet to even call for an explanation as to why my Envy hasn't shipped yet. Honestly, I don't even want to hear the bs they try to use to justify the whole situation. We just have to wait it out and see.

I posted 3DMark 11 results for the Envy 17 in the other thread for those interested to see how the 7850m compares to the 660m and 650m.
-
So....I spoke to a rep via HP Chat and her supervisor said that there should be an update later on today. It seemed as though she really tried to find a solution so let's see what happens.
-
Thanks. Good benchmark info for the Envy 15 here.

"Just got off the phone with customer service reagrding the order status. The guy actually managed to see that the machine was already built and packaged up and ready to ship. He says now its up to Fedex to pick it up and send me the tracking number.
This gives me at least some hope I guess.
Though I probably wont get it by this weekend, which was the only reason I got 2-day shipping..."
This guy actually said "I can see here that the machine has been built". Its wierd that the people you call can't even discern that much. Are you calling general tech support or who? -
Ok so after evils review, i really think im gonna go for an envy, but my only problem is which on, 17 or 15. 17 has better specs, really not that big of a deal for me though, but also doesn't have the red orange issue, which i have mixed feelings about and better cooling.. Also a numberpad is nice. The problem is that is just really big i guess. Im going to college next year. Its not really the weight that's the issue but its just that its really big.
What do you guys think? -

bad news guys... Just got this in my email:
Notification of Ship Delay
Thank you for choosing HP. We understand you are anticipating receipt of your new HP ENVY 17 3D edition customizable Notebook PC and therefore are contacting you with an update on the build of your customized PC. Due to an unplanned delay in the production process, we will be unable to ship your customized order as originally planned.
We now expect to complete your order on or before a revised ship date of 6/26/2012 . At shipment, we will email you a shipping notification with your carrier tracking number. You can then track your shipment online to obtain the estimated delivery date.

Afterburner is not letting me overclock the 7750M - stuck on 575 / 1000
Might try a newer Catalyst too - only using whatever HP installed.

And the rep decided to insult me by giving me a 15% off coupon. Really?! Delayed for more than 2 weeks and that's all I get?
-
Now I have to go get a bigger USB drive for the media recovery creation. Requires 18GB of space and the largest USB flash drive I have is 16GB

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
