If no one even contact HP to do such a gaming machine, it is very likely not to appear in the lineup as new product lines are created only when demand is anticipated by the manufacturer.

everyone write an email to HP for an envy gamer laptop gogogo
-
i guess we wont need to write letters now if the hd 7750m performs how the rumors are saying: AMD Radeon HD 7750M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
above a 670m and equal to 6970m in performance
Hopefully this is the case cause then the envy will be a beastin machine. Pull through for me AMD :S -
At the very least the ENVY should perform better than the DV series...
-
yeah rumors cant be off by that much... can they?
-
-
ship in 3-14 days? how long till they make it into the envy
-
Awesome! Why no equivalent for Envy 17?
-
Bit of a noob guys, are you saying you can swap that SYSTEM BOARD HM76 7750M/1G into an old envy? bit confused
-
I wouldn't hold my breath for that level of performance.
-
we can always pray.. but i dont ahve my hopes that high
lol no its jsut to show that if they are becoming available, it wont be long b4 the refreshed envy's have them insdie -
i had a feeling what i was thinking was complete stupidity lol looking forward to the refresh for sure though!

Yep, I'm surprised my three year old envy is still running all the latest games at 1080p.
But I suspect it will be time to upgrade soon. Certainly hope they bring back the dual SSD option for the Ivy Bridge model. -
Very likely this is the ENVY 6 series we are talking about here...
Or is it the ENVY 15 still? -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
I'm guessing they are going to go with 14.5" and 16.4" for the "envy 4" and "envy 6"
maybe they will skip 15.6" and 17.3" altogether
16.4" is not too bad, although I prefer 15, it's still seems much more convenient than a 17.3" laptop -
15.6" could be ENVY 6... as the DV6 was 15.6".
Or that could possibly be Ultrabooks? -
They reference the Envy 15 directly in this article:
First Intel Ivy Bridge launch expected on April 23

wait so are u guys saying that the "envy 4" will be them bringing back the 14 in or just the spectre? and for the envy 6? Where are u guys getting these numbers from? is it some reference im nto getting or is it how hp did their envy naming scheme b4?
-
The ENVY 4 and 6 are definitely new naming scheme. Previously it was ENVY 13, 14, 15, and 17.
-
alright lets c what this naming scheme brings
-
If they change to a 16 screen from 17.3 im not going to buy anything. im hoping for an ivy bridge 17.3 3d envy
-
haha they cant please everybody
but idk i dnt think they will but who knows
-
i wonder when the new envy 15 is gonna be out
-
Not expecting to hear anything until next week the earliest and even that is probably not likely. Waiting is torture.
-
This isn't strictly relevant to the topic at hand, but since this is the only word I've seen of the 7750M I thought it couldn't hurt to ask here.
I don't suppose anyone's seen anything that hints at a 7750M in a Trinity-equipped laptop yet? I did try asking HP, actually, just for fun, but I was told that those who deal with end users aren't allowed to know anything about future products. -
nope I think trinity will focus mainly at the ultratin/ultrabook segment. there will be some laptops with both dgpu and igpu (dv6z refresh?) but knowing how manufactures dont really like amd and that they got a bad rep... prolly not
-
Guys, I have some news and concerte info about the new envy series. Seriously not trolling. I have connections to HP. I'll post the info soon.
Looks like someone may have beat me to it in a new thread... Double checking...
Ok! I really do have new info! Go to the new thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-envy-hdx/656577-coming-soon-envy-4-envy-6-notebooks-7.html -
ENVY 4 and 6 are different lines from the ENVY 15 and 17 it seems.
-
i really do hope its not the budget line....
-
ENVY series is 2nd wave to arrive
MacBook Air and Ultrabooks with Ivy Bridge will launch later - Crave - CNET Asia -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
It sounds they will announce the quad core IB laptops on Monday, and then "mainstream" dual core laptops later, in June. Perhaps the headline is misleading a bit about the "2nd wave" as it seems those would be the mainstream laptops to be announced in June that Otellini was referring to.
Hope some more info leaks over the weekend ;-) -
The Envy's mentioned in the text are most likely the new 4 and 6 series since they seem to be ultrabookish.
-
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
I suspect the envy 4 and envy 6 are replacing the dv4 and dv6 line. -
HP has way too many lines. I suspect single digits are Ultrabook variants...
-
yeah i agree. but I dont get what you guys are saying. isnt the envy 15 a quadcore comp? wouldnt that be in the first wave and then ultrabook in 2nd?
and i think the envys they mentioned might be the spectre ones just my gues
-
From what we've heard, it seems like the Envy 4/6 is an ultrabook line that's an alternative option to the Spectre 13/14. The Spectre ultrabooks are priced pretty steeply, so I'd guess HP wants to offer a cheaper ultrabook option as well.
I don't think HP has specific intentions on launching the Envy 15 refresh before ultrabooks. The Envy 15 has also been around for only half a year. -
well they can do a minor refresh with ivy bridge cpu and 7750m
it was gonna get it b4 but they changed it to 7690m
-
I hope they use nvidia cards on the envy 17s
-
I think it's more likely that they're just unifying their naming conventions. So the Envy 4 will be an obvious upsell of the dv4, and likewise for the dv6 to Envy 6.
-
i dont think u should wish that. the amd mobile cards from what we have so far are pretty beastin
yeah i highly doubt that. i do think now that it is their ultrabook segment -
anyone have a logical guess about when its gonna upgrade? i have 2 more weeks until my 21 day return policy is up
-
^ you should hear more about it in the next 2 weeks. What I would do is no matter how long it's going to take until official release and words, I would return and wait for the update, you won't be waiting for 'months'
Sent from my wholly molly new iPad using Tapatalk -
^ how sure are you?
and im looking forward to people posting updates on this!! thanks guys -
Ivy bridge is released this week, we r expecting amd cards to be released soon also since 7970m is coming out
-
I think if anybody is counting on a refresh anytime soon could possibly be disappointed. Sure, it might come out soon... and I also present you the Sandy Bridge Envy 14s from last year, which came out about 5 months after Sandy Bridge processors/chipsets were released. I hope for everybody's sake they do come out sooner rather than later, but my point is that there's zero guarantee they'll be refreshed right away.
-
yeah thats what im worried about lol. i needa get a laptop for college so it can wait till august but... i wanna use it during the summer
-
vendors know people like us are itching to drop cash for new technology. They obviously want to exploit that instead of losing customers to competitors -- The refresh will be here sooner than later.
-
oops, wrong forum =D
-
Yeah I hope this is true because I will be buying a new ivy this spring and I would love to consider a refreshed envy
-
It would be awesome if hp had an alternative options for the upcomming envy 15 with a a10-4600m and 7750m...
/drool it would satisfy my gaming needs...
but seriously its rediculas the dv6z or whatever for 850$ has better gaming performance than their envy line right now and thats with a 1080p screen, maxed processor (amd) and 7690m.
NOW AVAILABLE: ENVY 15-32XX Intel Ivy Bridge (AMD 7750M)
