hoping for comptex! lol meanwhile ima order a dv6 ivy+650m while i wait![]()

This gen of ENVY 15 should likely be unveiled in June 12, with availability by July 12. I am looking at the HP Consumer Product Guide for May - Jun 12 for my country and it does not list the new ENVY 15.

nice find +rep
shouldnt be long now since when the same page for the envy 4/6 came up they were released like a week later
-
Dam 5.8 pounds, why couldn't they get it to Macbook size...Maybe they will announce a 14inch..
-
I dont get it, the linked page just shows the old laptop for me, am i being directed to a different link?
-
Awesome find! Been waiting for this to upgrade my 4-year old laptop.
Also, I kept clicking on stuff there and found myself on the "Store" site. Found the 3204tx there and even managed to add it to my shopping cart. Didn't get further than that (so no ship date estimate) since it required registering/logging in. Maybe someone else could try?
Edit:
Here's the link for the product page on the store site:

Thanks for the link I see now, cant wait to buy new envy!
-
...until you see theyre using the same screens.
-
The way I see it this is most likely a typo since the maintenance and service manual by hp says that it uses the newer anti glare screens but if this is true then that means that the maintenance and service manual is incorrect and there could be the possibility of other components not listed in it such as the i7-3820qm in the envy 15 so either way it is a beneficial situation.

You're right, it seems like it is available for sale. Just like the case of Envy 4 & 6 which are available first in Asia Pacific. but i am a Hong Kong guy...not Malaysia...
It is really a bit heavy in today's standard unless the AMD 7750M is far stronger than GT650M...i hope at least 15%... -
Are the existing IPS screens really that bad with the red/violet issues? Has anyone managed to calibrate one yet and fix the colors?
-
there is a definite difference between normal reds and the ips red but when i compared it to a fhd screen on sony vaio aw, it was much better tho. but i do hope they got it fixed and there is a btetter screen
wait how much is the 3xxx's? the 15 right now is just a tad bit heavier than i am looking for... if its a much differnece i mgiht ahve to reconsider it -
HP ENVY 15 IB weight is 2.63 kg which is around 5.8 pounds. Thats why i am looking at the Samsung Series 7 14inch its less than four pounds but only has 1600 X 900 screen which I think is good for 14inch as full HD would be overkill.

i would much rather have 1080p haha, its much easier to zoom in than to zoom out and remain readable
. but if asus could fit 1080p ips screens in their 11-13 in zenbooks it shouldnt be a problem for samsung.. i will consider samsung when it got fhd
-
I am hoping in Computex we see something with IB 1080 and less then 5 pound and 14 inch...I had the ENVY 15 SB and returned it, not only because of the screen issue but because I found it to be quite heavy and big.. -
i think ima end up with the envy 15.. it sucks they got rid of the envy 14 i would have snatched it up if they had fhd, ivy, decent gfx and decently light weight... the spectre is nice but expensive and no gpu, and the ultrabooks have ulv processors and no decent gpu also
hopefully it releases b4 comptex so i can put in an order but i would still see what laptops are realesad then -
Everyone I'm sure knows this but the 33% Coupons are back ..

Awesome! I hope that these coupons dont expire until after the new envy comes out even though that's prly super unlikely.
-
7750 will be weaker than 650
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
It'll be comparable. The difference between a 7750M and a GDDR5 650M should be fairly negligible, and the 7750M might well outperform the DDR3 version of the 650M.
Anybody notice that HP's US site is now calling it the Envy 15t? They seem to have done this with several notebooks, so it might be nothing, but maybe it indicates the possibility of a future Envy 15z with an AMD APU... -
there havent been any leaked specs about it so its all just rumors right now. but if it is weaker, i think it will like up with the gt 630m and the upgrade will be 7850m to match 650m/660m. also amd did say the 77xxm is for ultra thins and 78xx is for mainstream so anything is possible still
-
agree! such a big machine with 2 fans should not be limited on the 7700m series, and if 7750m is weaker than gt 650m, i will go for Dv6, maybe swap the screen to a better one manually~
HP ENVY 15-3206tx ??? PC (B8M17PA) ?? ?? - HP ?? ? ???? ?? ??
Korea Envy 15 with 256GB SSD?! -
Wow, thanks for finding so many links. Looks like that quickship model is using the 35w i7 as well.
As for the GT 650M vs HD 7750M, the performance difference should be pretty minor. Early benchmarks indicate that the GT 650M w/ GDDR5 will outperform the HD 7750M w/ GDDR5, but we can probably expect quite a bit of overclocking headroom on the HD 7750M, like we had with the Envy 15's underclocked HD 7690M. I think AMD wants to match the GT 640M with the HD 7750M, and the GT 650M with the HD 7770M. -
Gah! I visit the US site about 20 times a day, on the off chance they slip it in there.
-
Bro, it states there that the screen is
15.6" diagonal Radiance Full HD Infinity LED-backlit Display (1920 x 1080)
looks like LED, not IPS right?
-
Isnt IPS the panel and LED is the backlight?
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
what early benchies? there have been only results for the 650m none for the red team, would you be so kind to link those?
The 7750m is based on the 7750, basically with lower clocks, if we go for the same metric that was used on the 7970m to 7870 we could see it easily a little ahead of the 650m -
No leaked specs? The specs are right up on AMD's website.
http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/7000m/7700m/Pages/radeon-7700m-series.aspx#2 -
where be the benchmarks
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
Yes, the Envy 15's Radiance display has always been called "LED-backlit" -
There are benchmarks of the HD 7770M on AMD's "Desktop Test System." Likewise, there are benchmarks on the HD 7870M and HD 7970M on "Desktop Test Systems," which I suppose AMD provided to notebookcheck.
The "3DMark 11 - Performance GPU" isn't affected by CPU performance, so it should give a good idea of what we can expect. -
Well I hope the Envy 17 has the option for a 7870 instead of just a 7850. Although I guess you could always just OC the 7850 to 7870 clocks...
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
errrr.... that was given when they launched the real gcn mobile series. btw notebookcheck aint reliable -
Sure, but why wouldn't the HD 7770M benchmark be reliable? The HD 7970M benchmarks turned out to be accurate at least.
-
I find that with Notebook Check, you have to expand the benchmark to see the actual scores of the different laptops instead of just looking at the averages.. Oftentimes they combine ddr3 versions and ddr5 versions in the average.

we usually dont trust their benchmarks same goes for nvidia -
where are the new envysssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...damn you HP
-
Released in APAC region.
-
where is APAC?!?!?!? can i get it shipped to US? lol
-
Are all the screens for the ones released in the asia pacific regions the old screens and have u seen any of the more powerful i7's past i7-3610 such as an i7-3820
-
The page in Malaysia HP Store has been taken down. I have checked with some dealers but they all dun know eta of it.
-
New Zealand has the 1366x768 screen...
-
Combined with the trend where the other envy's were released about a week after they showed up in the APAC region and the fact that hp has a 33% off coupon that expires on Thursday, I would expect late next week to be the release date??? or is it gonna be delayed to hp's developers conference in june?
-
im buying a dv6 quickship today for the wait
if it is realeased next week i guess that would be pointless
... I wish it was released this week
-
Buy and return?
-
shh dont tell hp
as u can c in my sig... my current laptop cant do crap. and i need something to game with my friends
-
^ im about to do the same.. are the 33% coupons still working?
-
lol i would then recommend just going with the quickship model like me. i speced out the dv6 but the estimated ship date is june 1st..
