How accurate is the estimated shipping date? I rushed to order since I was afraid of losing the radiance display. If the laptop is shipped on the estimated build date and arrives 5 days later I'm OK. If it arrives 6 days later though I'd have to have someone send it across the country for me. Do actual delivery dates tend to be sooner or later than the estimated one?

My order was approved and dropped to the factory. Is it safe for me to assume that I will in fact be getting the radiance display? I have my fingers crossed. I'm afraid they are gonna run out of radiance displays and some guys who ordered the radiance display wont get it.

EDIT: If I decide to send my envy back before the 21 day trial period is over will it matter that my address has changed?

 

HP is pretty good with their shipping dates. The only ones that had it bad was the first batch of people.

There was one guy who ordered Radiance but got Brightview when it arrived on his doorstep, so you need to check when you get it.

I doubt they care where you ship it back from. A return is a return/an exchange is an exchange.

 

Usually, you get your package ON or before the estimated delivery date. Just depends on how busy Fedex is.

 

So my Envy 14 was delivered today! Built two days ahead of schedule and only two days of shipping. Problem is I shipped it to where I will be next week (when I thought it would arrive), not where I am now.

I don't feel like waiting so I guess I'm making the 2 hour trip tomorrow to pick it up.

 

just placed my order a couple hours ago!!!!! now the waiting game begins.

 

Could you get a brightview 1600x900 ? if so, could you tell me the directions so i know that my envy 14 has radiance screen. thanks

 

As far as I know the only 1600x900 screen available is the radiance screen. So you should be fine if you've got a 1600x900 screen on your envy.

called hp to change my shipping, they couldn't, they refunded me 39$

 

question for the gurus, when i placed my order, i threw out the USB 3.0 question and the HP rep on the phone told me that the new envy 14 that i'm ordering is coming with a USB 3.0 port. was he blowing smoke and had no idea what he was talking about or was he right because i thought the usb 3.0 was only availible on the envy 15 and 17 with the i7 processors. have things changed?

 

As far as I know nothing has changed. USB 3.0 is not an option.

 

Yeah, the Envy 14 doesn't come with USB 3.0.

 

thats what I thought but the HP rep seemed quite insistant on the fact that it did, should I call them and make a point about it or just drop it?

and in latest radiance infinity news..... price is now up to $300 for it as an option.

 

hm, I was wondering since they lowered the estimated battery life to 3.5 hours from the estimated 7 ours they first marketed can we call and tell them we were misinformed before buying? Maybe we can get a discount or a free slice battery . just a thought..

 

YAr, mine gets built on the 30th, tis a long time to wait. I configured w/ 1 dim 4g ram, any thoughts on what brand will work nice w/ it from people of knowledge and success? Also I wonder about the best way to remove preinstalled bloatware. Is there a bloatware list/ restore point option or something w/ that? Yar... Its going to be a long wait...

Anyone found any good valid coupons that are still valid? The most recent mentioned in this thread (for $100 off) is no longer valid.

It'd be nice to find a coupon that'd pretty much eliminate the 101$ in tax, lol. Or more.

 

I saw one in deals which was a free upgrade to i5 450m...so 50 bucks.

I'm gonna try and call and see what I can get. Since I'm in grad school I can get HPA, but if I spend 1200 I have to get the i5, 1600x900 and 2 year warranty after everything...doubt they'll do it, so I don't think I'll be getting an envy.

 

I got an email from HP today saying that my ENVY is being shipped. The estimated build date was Aug 30! That's like 6 days ahead of schedule. The estimated delivery date is Aug. 27. Has anyone else who ordered as soon as the radiance was back had it shipped yet?

 

Mine is getting built on the 2nd of September... is that pretty accurate of an estimate?

I had an expected of the 30th, it shipped the 23rd. Supposed to get it by the 26th, but by the looks of it I should be able to get my grubby paws on it by tomorrow. If I were you I would expect to have it by the 2nd, maybe even a few days earlier.

My order made it to Alaska but the status has said it's "in transit" there for the last 19 hours. Would this be a customs issue?

 

I have had the EXACT same thing, it sucks lol.

 

Mine came yesterday! Missed the Fedex delivery guy. So I decided to pick it up at their facility at 6pm. When I got there, the lady told me it already has been delivered at 5:30 pm! Hahah. I sorta wasted time driving there, but kudos to FEDEX for the 2nd delivery attempt.

 

Mine finally left Alaska at 4:49.. on a flight to Oakland now... Did yours leave too?

Ugh... My replacement envy 14 comes tomorrow. I'm going to hope to god that it's close to perfect and everything's in order. I do not want to go through any more of this RMA hassle.

 

Does your status show yours arriving in Socal yet? Mine left Oak at 1:13am but doesn't show an arrival yet... Maybe they shipped it down by truck instead of air.

I have not ordered my Envy yet because I am waiting on my refund check from school. I am looking forward to a new laptop for school. My other laptop is a Toshibe Qosmio 880. I needed something smaller. The HP Envy seems great. I can hardly wait.

 

so mine was supposed to be here this morning but its been sitting in alaska too. Now the FedEx tracking says delivery has been pushed back to monday.

when it says "intl' shipment release" does that mean that its cleared customs?

I got 2 day shipping and i'm really pissed that its looking like a total of 5 day delivery.

one question i have is how do i check to see what versions of drivers and bios i have to see if they need to be updated or not?
