Yeah....was a show stopper for me, was all set to order when it got back in stock then saw 300. 1215 after HPA is too much for this thing.
-
A very positive HP/Fedex story:
I ordered about a week ago on the assumption that the laptop wouldn't sip until well into September, at which point I would be living in Massachusetts. But after reading about how much HP has been overestimating the build time, I wanted to change my delivery address to Pennsylvania (where I know someone would be able to sign for it). Not only was HP able to change the address, but Fedex was able the computer on time despite missing the plane in China.
I am a very happy camper. -
Got mine this morning <3 YAY!
-
Yeah pretty bad
-
I thought before checking, "I wonder what price hike they implemented now?" and there it was.
During the anticipation for the E14, I made a few posts claiming that the i5/5650/Radiance base would never be $1000 like they said in those poorly made youtube videos. Some posters vehemently denied this and chose to believe said videos over leaked spec sheets listing a lower-res screen and i3.
Well, I was right. The i5/Radiance/5650 costs over $1300. I could never justify that type of purchase. -
why are u guys saying the radiance infinity price up to 300$, how much it was before?
-
When it was first available for purchase, it was base (it came standard with the Envy14).
Then it was raised to $100 upgrade.
Now it's $300. -

-
Hey guys I just ordered mine today... Estimated build date is september 16 though -__-.. hopefully ill get lucky like almost all of you and get it early =].
I cant believe the radiance infinity cost me $300 -__-. now im pissed cuz u guys say it was included before.
You think if i call them to b!t(h about it theyll lower the price?
if any of you has done it please let me know... thanks -
I think the base price was higher before
Well... what's the worst that could happen? They say no, you lose 30 minutes of your life... Personally I'd try 2 or 3 or more times, and only then give up. -
Thats true... ill call and give them hell and ill let u all know how it goes jajaja
-
i'm sure a few people have done it. They'll probably take off 50-100.
-
I tried to get them to drop the price by 100, no dice...I woulda spent it too! HP just lost profit margin from a 1200 dollar sale for a i5/4gb/radiance sale
-
So what is the average wait time for a shipment of an Envy 14? Do they tend to ship early like Alienware/Dell does? I ordered a computer from them 5 months ago and it was at my door 4-5 days early. How is HP with this?
-
Mine was supposed to be done the 8th, but shipped the 6th and supposedly arrives on the 9th. My 15 was about the same. So yeah I think they do ship early generally.
-
Thanks Hahncholo, I'm so darn excited about getting this computer. I think I'm the most impatient person in the world when it comes to waiting on these things. I hit the F5 key at least a hundred times a day, lol!
-
mine shipped yesterday to
-
Mine was supposed to ship on the 1st of Sept out of shanghai but it got to my door on the 27th of Aug
-
That is what I want right there =) I'm thinking it should be done by this Friday which would be the 10th.
-
How much discount you can get from student discount?
Is there any other discounts or coupons to apply for envy 14? Thanks in advanced -
Anyone get their bing cash back?
-
Student discount is %10.
Not sure about any other discounts, but I'm also curious. If you see the LOGIC50 code mentioned for $50 off, it isn't valid with student discount. -
Mine got here yesterday (8th), which is what my build date was going to be. Impressed with HP for shipping early, and Fedex for getting it from China to California in 2 days.
-
Yeah mine was shipped today!! Should get it by Tuesday the 14th.
-
yeah my 60 days just ended and it says i can receive it in 0 days
but i'm unable to redeem it because it does not show up as PENDING
w.t.f bing i want my $350 bcb
hope i get it soon -
Mine is showing 0 days pending as well, which is probably not a good sign at all. As past HP cashback purchases were credited as soon as 60 days was up.
-
Yeah, mine is show 0 days since yesterday.
-
Right after I made my previous post the bing.com cashback posted to my account.
-
hmm, although I had to return my defective envy that I bought with 30% bing cashback, I didn't expect that I would still get the cashback lmao!!, I had to reorder a replacement with 10% off + $150 off. Now bing cashback posted my cashback reward of $485 rofl. I thought it would be canceled, but it didn't and it let me redeem the reward.
-
should we call up Bing? that $350 is really important with school coming up and yeah...
-
Yeah I got my cashback for a canceled Envy 14 as well. Not complaining of course. lol
-
just received my Bing cashback email! woot! its here!!!
i also did Ebates 4% cashback so i'll be receiving my extra $40 from them soon. -
any luck dealing with them?? i definitely don't want to pay $300 extra just to get a screen that should be included imo.
-
I ordered an Envy 14 on Sept 4th and It was originally scheduled for the 14th, missed the pick up cut-off and changed to the 15th. As of right now its sitting in Newark,NJ and I live in NYC. Do we think I stand a chance to actually get it tomorrow?? Either way it's going to arrive way before the build date which was the 16th, which is great but I want it NOW! lol I've been pondering the purchase for months and feel a little silly since I now had to pony up the $300 for the Radiance Display, but even my old zt3000 had a high res display and I cringe when I look at screens with anything less.
Also when I get it I wonder if a little and moan can save me another $100 that would be sweet
-
I ordered my Envy on Sunday (9.12.10). Expected ship date of 9.21.10.
Stock other than Radiance.
To do: Try to OC the i3, and eventually replace with i5-540m.
Try to OC the ATI.
Eventually get SSD.
-edit-
I'd also like to add the lady I talked to when I ordered would not honor the $29.99 Win7 Upgrade price, even after looking at the Microsoft website. I told her about it, gave her the website, told her how other people online were able to do it. She said HP would not match Microsoft's price. So if this is happening to you, just hang up and try another person! I should have... -
Hi everyone,
New member here. Anyway, like most people here I hate that fact that HP has hiked up the Radiance price to $300. When calling I could get a bit of discount on top of my HPA discount, but not much. Just in case people are hesitant of just getting the normal screen (ie get the stock Envy and replace the screen if/when you wish by yourself), I checked the price of just getting the Radiance screen as a replacement part......
....$338,20. That's the whole display assembly, part number is 608366-001. That's right, HP's marketing/pricing department has decided that so many people want the Radiance that they attempt to charge us $300 extra for a screen that costs $338 as a total. Trust me, the stock screen it replaces is worth more than $38.
I think I am gonna give HP sales a call about this... -
My Envy 14 arrived this morning! It's in perfect condition save for a few flaws typical of HP (extremely slight gap in touchpad, hinge could be tighter, #1 key gets stuck, screen a few mm of center but beautiful, and that damn high pitched hum) However, definitely will be keeping it! I'm a nitpicker, and in time I'll be too busy actually working to pick at these things so I'll survive. So glad too as I was worried it would come in a worse condition like some of the other horror stories I've heard!
-
Where are you getting this information?
I tried hp and google, nothing came up with "608366-001"
Link? -
So... my HP Envy is supposed to be shipping back from repairs BUT although HP sent me an email on Friday saying it was shipped and gave me the tracking number 'n stuff... when I look at the FedEx site it STILL does not say it has been picked up.
Anyone else ever run into this problem with FedEx? I don't know if I should be thinking HP actually has not shipped the package yet or if FedEx is being weird...
It is supposed to have overnight afternoon delivery. -
Ozzie,
Go to the HP Parts store:
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
There you can fill in the part number, which I got from the service manual of the Envy 14. It will give you the $338 price.
By the way, I called sales about it, and even though they were stunned as well it didn't matter on the price. They wouldn't budge, stating that the Envy is selling like hot cakes and they have absolutely no incentive to generate more sales. What DID matter though is that I 'threatened' to use Ebates' 4% cashback, they gave it to me direct as a $50 discount (saving tax and hassle) after a bit of discussion.
-
The lady I talked to also wasn't budging on the price because they Envy, with Radiance, is selling so well even with the price hike.
-
Wow you guys are really trying to save a buck. I'm surprised HP will even budge under any circumstances.
-
Ordered: 09/12/2010
Shipped: 09/21/2010
Ex. Delivery: 09/24/2010
On it's way from Shanghai! Hope it's not a KIRF. -
Ordered an Envy 14 that's en route...Fingers crossed after reading the other topic/s.
-
What is KIRF???
Ordered: 09/14/2010
Shipped: 09/21/2010
Ex. Delivery : 09/28/2010
When I first looked at my Ex. Delivery it said 09/24/2010. the next day it said 09/28/2010, whats up with that??? -
for anyone interested in an envy 14 theres one listed for sale in the NBR market place!
-
Is it still possible to get this thing with good specs for under $1200?
-
I have today off.. and tomorrow I go back to work, which is also the day of 'expected delivery.' I printed out the FedEx thing so I could already have something signed for them to leave it if I wasn't home on the first try... Last night I checked the tracking and it still said it was in Memphis TN (I live in MN). So.. I thought Friday for sure.
Well I wake up today and notice they tried to delivery it already! That's cool.. wish I would have been awake though, or already had the signature on the door (didn't expect it a day early). I can go pick it up at the FedEx location after 5pm.. so I'm going to do that on the way to my C#/.net class.
It stands for 'Keepin' It Real Fake', mainly referring to the cheap knockoffs of real products that come out of China. It was just a joke since the laptop was shipping out of Shanghai.
Kirf -- Engadget
Not with a radiance screen. A base model, with the exception of adding the Radiance, is $1250 after tax on HPA Discount. Now if you don't mind having the regular screen you can get a well spec'd machine for under $1200. One of the posters above got a Envy 14, i5-460, 640gb 7200rpm, 8gb ram for ~$1,000 off of Amazon. -
My Envy Beats edition was suppose to be shipped out 9/22/2010 but I just got the email that it have been delayed until the 6th of october
